  • We have been working on a new beams oil pan for a few months and wanted to share the progress. These will be available for order soon. They will solve the ground clearance issues associated with swapping a beams into an ae86 or other similar chassis and also have a couple of cool features added as well. Check it out.

Think about adding a replaceable Delrin skid to protect the leading edge and maybe the bottom of this nice part.

I’m working on an actual skid plate as a separate product

Hey John ! I love the new pan design. I know you are still in the development phase and I had a suggestion after watching you take this out testing. It seems like it would make the installation and removal really clean if the two pans had oring grooves with viton oring cord stock between the faces/block. Not sure if that is feasible with this pan but it was just something i thought I would mention. Awesome content 👍 I always look forward to seeing your new videos

Thanks for the suggestion. I do like the oring idea, but the rtv also works really well.

It's a shame that the oil pickup will be hidden. It's beautiful!

Looks great! I am excited for this to become available. I have a few questions.
    - When can we expect production to be complete for us to order and will there be a pre order option?
    - If we do impact this oil pan how do you anticipate it holding up? The factory one will dent easily or puncture, but wasn’t sure how billet reacts to hard impacts.
    - With these being multi piece will there be options to purchase the individual pieces down the road if we do damage it? Just a thought incase the lower most area gets a hole, crack, shear bolts off, or anything like that.
    Thanks!

Great questions. I’m planning to post a preorder next week with expected shipment of late October. There’s pros and cons to the billet pan. Yes it can crack unlike the steel pan, however if it does, you will know right away. The steel pan can dent and block the oil pickup, it won’t leak, but can starve the engine of oil. To help, I’m working on a skid plate to go with this.

@@johnrussakoff This is a great idea. I'm assuming it would be made out of mild steel or something a little more forgiving for impact?
