- This video is about me finding one of the iconic difting cars in Japan.
So I found this AE86 Trueno 1985 model in a not so great condition but for a car this old I was happy with what I got. And I wanted to restore it in the best condition I could, and I hope I was able to make a decent car out of it. So please enjoy the workaround of me fixing the car and living the JDM life. Such a beautiful car! Nearly 40yrs old and still has better body lines than most modern cars. I’m a sucker for a good 4A-GE too, especially with ITBs
When I saw this appear on my feed I got excited. After watching it I just felt like crying. This Beauty of a Car deserved a much better restoration then what it got. What a crime.

i mean... not everyone has the money or time to do things like others.... so i respect what the guy did. if u feel diff then buy one and restore it :D i need the youtube videos to watch anyway.

かなり大胆な事もしてたので安全面でもベストな作業かどうかは分からない、けど朽ち果て過ぎゆくのみだった事を思えばベターな結果だしレストアして公道に蘇らせた情熱と愛は素晴らしいもの。
ハンダ溶接はうーんと思いました
素人のDIYだったとしても日本でこの施工だとコメント欄は、荒れるでしょうね😖
ハンダは板金パテより痩せないので、黎明期の頃からある板金手法です。寧ろ旧車には適した板金です。但し、動画では広範囲に埋めているので効率は悪いですから、本来は同一材質で溶接し、段差を修正するに留める事が重要です。

Leading was an old body filler method. You see it in old school hot rods. However, that hatch needed structural repairs.
yeah, but how strong is that solder? looked like it needs new sheet metal, not soldering

@@hfelipemm he reply on above post “we have tinkering solder here in
Japan. And we use a copper mesh to hold it in place. I gridded all the rust and then apply a rust neutralizer to prevent it from future rust. And then soldered the mesh there. Then grindded the excess solder and sanded it down.” On comment above that said they just saw someone trust 4x4 and solder.
Thank you for NOT doing the anime paint job! This car should stand on it's own, rather than just be "the car from the anime" forever.

the only issue i have here is you didnt REMOVE or CUT-OUT the rust, you just covered it up and filled over it.. that will come back to haunt you!

Was that oil pan at an acceptable angle to drain completely? Usually recommended to be flat or slight slant towards drain hole, not a 45 degree incline lol.

Bruh… did I just see a car being soldered together while it’s propped up on a 4x4 block of wood?!
Worse.... looks like he was just filling the hole with plastic by melting it in with a soldering iron 🤦🏻♂️ Absolute cowboys!!! FML that's a disgrace
It’s just another way filling up rusted parts in Japan. They have separate soldering iron specifically for this purpose. Since I had no proper other way to fix the rusted parts, I used this method. I wish if I had proper tools and also the knowledge. But I did it with what I had.
And the 4x4 wood part, actually I’m lifting up the car from the front using a cable with the help of an excavator. It’s just not showed in the camera.
Lead loading predates modern filler, if you look at most older build hot rods and vintage or veteran restorations it is the way it was done, and unlike modern filler it doesn’t tend to rust up around it!

@@Chihiro4217black そうですね。生産終了の部品が再生産している事はありがたいんですが、元々の価格の倍の値段になっている事は悲しいですよね。だから中古品も結構高く値段ついてしまうんですよね。
