    Just a helpful tip for you guys, I'm running JSP mounting brackets, TRD engine mounts, and a T3 manual rack. I DID have to cut quite a bit off the oil pan to resolve clearance issues.

      Thanks for the feedback. Typically it is not needed. You might be using power steering mounting brackets. It is usually a very close fit, but I has been done without cutting on a stock manual rack car with stock engine mounts.

    Thank you for this John! I would love to see a video from you talking about your thoughts/opinions on going Beams vs 20v vs 16v. I know it’s a topic beaten to death but you have such a long history with this car and would love to hear your insights.

    Smh yeah its been this tradition that has come to its own life of every single jdm engine is 60k-75k, but really what proof aside from this being told to every person that buys a jdm engine is there of the motors actual milage ?? I have bought few jdm engines and every time each motor was bought i was verbally told it had less than 75k and lol seems regardless of make or year or type of jdm engine being bought they always have the same area of milage on it, but looks of that timing belt on that beams 3sge shows crack development on the top surface and that takes alot more than just 75k or less milage to cause that wear appearance, least not to any vehicle i ever changed timing belt on majority being usdm engines, but regardless this was probably the last member of old school performance powerplants toyota made as 2zzge was i believe final, jdm manufacturer companies arent what they once were anymore😢

      It can be hard for the importers to keep track of each engine, so they use 60k as a general rule simply because it’s a pretty good average. But I agree, it seems as time goes on, the Japanese engines have more mileage than they did a decade ago. I’m guessing people are driving more in japan now than they were in the past. While most still take a train to work and use their cars only for weekend use, the average annual mileage is probably going up for other reasons.

    • @4077661466jp
      @4077661466jp Год назад

      @johnrussakoff exactly but the trend still remains every motor has 75k or less, but my thing is if this is true than there shouldn't be any problems or excessive wear on belts and or seals, being state side we drive them until the bearings fall out, but either way the good stuff is over there regardless of mileage, and personally the quality in todays motors in any brand isnt the same as before, i work on more newer cars (hondas) than i do my 20+ yr old cars, nothing stays great forever.
