Grateful Dead - I've only loved yall for about 3 years, now. It took my little brother dying to get me to listen to this band. Now, I know why he loved it so much. Peace. Love.
Raised by hippie parents in the 70's in a commune in Baja Mexico. It was a magical childhood with lots of music, love, art and fun. A good part of the year we'd follow the Dead in a big school bus. Our parents would work at various jobs to fund out nomadic lifestyle. Often times at faires, Renn Faires, circuses, etc. Wherever we went The Dead was playing in the bus or at camp. Today I accredit my musical talents to this time. The freedom of growing up with other children and being encouraged to take up and instrument or dance. Lately I've been very nostalgic for my childhood, The Dead, and dancing. This compilation has hit the mark, and I'm joyfully spinning in my apartment remembering all the shows I had the privilege of seeing. Rock on Deadheads 🤘
My college roommate was a devoted hitchhiker & deadhead, he turned me onto both in ‘73. He had spent all of ‘ 3:34 71 hitching all over the country following the Dead. ‘71 was the year he graduated high school & completed his 1 year of draft eligibility, so he followed them while he waited to be drafted, he was lucky & his number was never called. I missed Nam by 6 mos when Congress ended the draft in ‘72. I saw them at the Watkins Glen, NY raceway along with the ABB & the Band.
i’m so sad 😞 i’m 58 and i’m on my way out of this world with terminal cancer and i only came across this AMAZING BAND “GRATEFUL DEAD” and the sad part is i won’t get to enjoy their music for long 😭 I SERIOUSLY CANT BELIEVE I HAD NEVER HEARD OF THEM 😱😱😱 i’m even going to use the song TOUCH OF GREY at my funeral it’s the best song that i’ve ever heard and if i had the time and money i would be going to wherever they are having concert 👍 i think that would be the most happiest time in my 58yrs of life 👍 ROCK ON
I hope you will simply be Grateful to have found them before you pass. Remember, you are now better than the 99% of the World's population who have never heard the Dead before, and realized what they were. God Bless.
Just littles este of time let the ripple move if only for a short time ring that blue bell and walk in the sunshine with that Gratefully dead already good luck on your journey just let the music take over your ego sending love care and a touch of grey 24:33 24:35

This Eyes of the World with Branford Marsalis is very special. You can hear the inspiration in Jerry's solos from playing off of what Branford is laying down.
It's because they allowed and encouraged deadheads to bootleg their shows and would always have a section set aside for those that wanted to set up their gear and record the show. Jerry never plays the same song the same way twice either. Enjoy!!!
@@erichusayn Thank you! Ive been watching the series on them on Amazon, it's so good! I missed their last show this summer, I'm so sad about that! So I'm watching a cover band of theirs this December😊

Great upload here , but the flow is a bit off ,from piece to peace ....oh from 'track to track' continuity I think it is called, difficult to do I know given the time span and different instruments and sound thereof ..but great palms and hymns anyway ..thank you ...
Why is there no dark star on this album? “Best of” live???? Their favorite live song is arguably dark star. So many great versions, yet not a single one…
When the scepter of the Russian Coat of Arms looks like the layout of the meadows of the US Congress Grounds. The Fall of Roman Empire by the Germanic Cross cults. Carry on. Lets PLAY BALL!
Any Dead is better than no Dead, but to hop over the bulk of the 1970s when the group was at its zenith is pretty silly, particularly during the 1973-74 era, which is inarguably one of their greatest if not the greatest eras of the band. Maybe that was so obvious that they wanted to highlight other eras like 1980, which has its moments, certainly.
So this is basically Live Dead, Europe 72, Dead Ahead, 7/4/89, and a song from their last show. Yawn. I mean, thanks for the post, but this is kind of lazy. I mean, at the very least, pitch correct the damn Jerry songs from Europe 72' and there's an actual reason to listen.
