Do you have any tips for holding your iPad in your hands while using an SSD? With the cable sticking out of the side it’s really uncomfortable. Right angle cable or a dock?
That is one spec that I do not know, but I would be surprised if you couldn't plug in a drive with its own power source at any size. I think power is the limiting factor, but when it's not being provided by the iPad, I think the sky would be the limit. But don't quote me on that.

Think I’m having a problem. I can plug my Mavic A2 drone directly into my iPad. Or remove the micro SD then plug it into my “QGeeM” hub and from both locations video playback is smooth. However after I save the same video file to my (just purchased) Samsung T5, video playback is choppy. Should the drive be able to perform this task, or am I asking too much of it. Please advise

There are Lightning to USB type C which SSD drives usually use. But there are actual Lighting Flash drives that can go directly into the iPad Pro with lightning as well.

@@isaacgutierrez5152 If you go to App Store under settings, you can check off "Offload Unused Apps" and it'll remove the apps you haven't opened in a while from your device to free up space, but it'll keep the documents and data in case you want to redownload it.
Yes..you can. You need to download all movies from iCloud first to your device and then transfer them to the external storage whichever you have. Double check before you do this.
I don't think it'll ever work as a standard storage device per say. It will probably always act more like a thumb drive for backing up files and moving them off the device. Apple could change that though

Even with a hub with power I'm having data corruption saving to an external spinning hard drive. There are no error messages, but 90% of large files saved to the spinning drive from the iPad are unreadable later. This doesn't happen with SD cards and SSDs on the same hub. Not sure yet if it's the drive or a general problem. Ipad Pro 2020 12.9". The hard drive is a Seagate Momentus 2TB formatted as exFAT and works fine everywhere else.

I just got the T7 standard (non Touch) SSD to use with my new 2021 M1 iPad PRO. I plug the usbc cable into both devices but nothing comes up. The little T7 power light comes on…on the T7. I’ve tried to download a setup file from Samsung site but they ,only have it for Mac OS…specifically. No App Store has the right thing that I can find. So how do I get this little thing set up???
@@omarcorrea OK…though I’d done that before I did it again and now it shows “T7” as a file source containing 3 files. One is fir android, one for windows and one for Mac. It says there is 24 MB in the Mac file but when I try to open the file itself I get a blank page that says there is no content. Nice.

Upon plugging my HD, it i read only why? It is a sandisk transcend 2T. The iPad sees it but it read only. Any help 🙏

You can use the included usb type c cable that comes with SSD. They both have usb type c ports

You can back it up to the drive by copying over videos and photos but you’d still have to manually delete them off the iPad

I just got the T7 standard (non Touch) SSD to use with my new 2021 M1 iPad PRO. I plug the usbc cable into both devices but nothing comes up. The little T7 power light comes on…on the T7. I’ve tried to download a setup file from Samsung site but they ,only have it for Mac OS…specifically. No App Store has the right thing that I can find. So how do I get this little thing set up???
You check inside the Files app like I demoed in the video?
@@omarcorrea OK…though I’d done that before I did it again and now it shows “T7” as a file source containing 3 files. One is fir android, one for windows and one for Mac. It says there is 24 MB in the Mac file but when I try to open the file itself I get a blank page that says there is no content. Nice.
Please suggest an external storage device for upcoming iPad Air 4. I just want to store some movies only.
