I've always found these cars quite weird. Chevy really did put on a 4 speed archaic torque converter automatic on a purpose built sports car that had a transaxle and a torque tube. No hate definetly, just a weird choice and I admire how different it is. On the other hand, if Chevy really wanted a base corvette that has a 4 speed for an average 60 year old buyer, he probably didnt care about handling and other sports car elements. So chevy could have completely ditched the torque tube idea and made a conventional transmission attached to a 3/4 link live axle rear, I know it would be costly to redesing the cars some areas but MSRP would be down to 7-8k lower, which would mean more sales.
They say in the c6 youre better off going for the LS3 because it has more power/torque. In your experience does this matter? I'm gonna buy my first corvette eventually and I was thinking of C5 with the targa top, a C5 z-6, or an LS2/LS3 c6 base with targa top
The ls2 was alot of fun but the ls3 makes more power easier. Has better flow and just a little bigger. We loved our vette but a c5z with the ls6 would be a blast!
I don't know why 3rd gear is not short enough, at least in 3rd gear it is already 4700 rpm, if someone says this is 4 speed, but yes this is 4 speed performance, the gear ratio distance is quite far, but at least it is directed correctly to get maximum power rpm
Great video!!!! That c6 sure is one hell of a machine pal!!!! LS2 is Roaring!!!!
Love that sound.......... THE sound....... THE SOUND...... THEEEE SOUNDDDDDD
I would love the overly wide gears, because then I could pretend I was in an overly sporty Cadillac Eldorado lmao
I love my 05 👍
No other mods ? Just cai and exhaust?

haha yes 400 hp muscle / sports cars with live axles like the good ol days
@@shtupidmate I mean, Mustang did get away with it with the 2005-2014 generation. Corvette couldve get away with it in its base trim.
@@alig.20corvettes have had independent front suspension since the 60s
front and rear i mean
@@topkek7003 No, they were never fully independent until C8. Just type Corvette leaf spring in Wikipedia.
God damn
Nice! Does it have the performance gear ratio?
Toll ,ganze 160 km/h..................
Und das mit 405 PS

Is it a 4 speed?
Yes it is. That's what the a4 means. Automatic 4 speed.
@@middickmotors6019 I thought about it but I wasn't sure so I thought to ask
Yes! Other than exhaust is this car stock? Im considering getting an 05 6 speed mt with about 30k miles.
Yeah it has a ram air style intake but at the time that was it. It's been a great fun car. The mt would be a blast!
Looks pretty quick. Does it look this quick due to only having 4 gears?
No its just pretty quick.
@@middickmotors6019 wow that’s amazing. That 0-100 is insane. My stage 2 tuned 335 A8 isn’t that quick
@@iraqtv11 the BMW is 1000 pounds heavier. Of course it's not this fast
@@ghosttube6525 nah only about 500 lbs but I see what you’re saying
