    What makes your lessons stand out from the rest of the other videos on photography is that your explanation is in the simplest of terms and language as well as you use the most basic models of body and glass(lens).
    You are a natural teacher !!! Stay safe and blessed ...!
    1. Use a large aperture
    2. Use a fast prime lens, if possible
    3. Use aperture/manual priority
    4. Move closer to the subject
    5. Increase distance between subject and background
    6. Use backlit/sidelit or hair light ( if possible)

      Absolutely dead on, Thanks for the comment I agree. His videos are also short to the point and not as long winded as a lot of tutorials online.

    i Just bought my first DSLR camera for my 70th Bday and you are one of my teacher's. I like that you get to the point and don't wonder, like telling me what your dog eats or some other lame story like so many other YT vids ( no offence ) to your pup or you. Thank you for helping me understand my new camera......

    Thank you. That little tidbit you shared about the focal length affecting aperture is exactly what I needed to know. I was trying to take a photo of flowers in a tree outside with a shallow aperture, but the camera wouldn't let me. It kept changing to f 5.6. Now i know why. 😊

    I usually use my 85mm for my portrait shoot. Set my aperture between 2 to 1.8 for the blurry effect. Thank you for your wonderful tips.

    Thank you Paul for taking the time to clearly explain these techniques and methods to achieve these results. I just recently got into photography beyond taking photos with a cell phone and your help and advice has made a tremendous difference for me and also given me the motivation to keep learning more. I've got an entry level Canon Rebel T7 and the pictures I can take with the knowledge you willingly share has been a fantastic experience. I cannot believe how good some of the pictures I have taken have turned out.

    Hi. I've been taking pictures for decades and took courses in College. Due to situation, I hadn't touched my Nikon 5100 for 2 years. I picked it up the other day and forgot how to blur background. Sure I forget many techniques. Your tutorial helped me greatly. I had the eureka moment. lol Now, I subscribed and will watch you as if I'm listening to my great prof!     Appreciate your time and effort in teaching us beginners. You for sure come down to my level in where you make it easy to learn. I kind of have a learning disability but you make it where I can understand. Really do appreciate you meeting me/us at where you make it sound easy.
