I’m curious to what the little squares are in the field of view and what they are for, I’m sure there is a reason.
Hi David, assuming you are referring to the squares that can be seen when looking through the viewfinder, these are the cameras focus points - if using auto focus you will notice they flash red when you focus which shows you where the camera has focused - I recommend watching this video so you can learn how to control these : ruclips.net/video/QmS6IhqMQ7A/видео.html Thanks for watching and supporting my channel.

Just purchased a 2000d last week for my course project, was planning to invest a bit of time to photography to learn how to use the functions of the Camera, but this video saved me a bunch of time. Thank you!
I just received this camera as a holiday gift from my workplace in a “grand prize” raffle. I haven’t physically received this camera in the mail yet. But I am super excited to start learning how to use it and see what photography I am able to produce.
Your videos have been incredibly helpful and I finally understand some of my cameras basic features so I can get out of Auto mode. It only took me an entire year to find someone who could explain it all to a complete beginner like myself. Thank you so much!!!
I just picked up this camera the other day. You had lots of info that made it a lot quicker to use. I found out 1 thing. If you connect to the app. Make sure the camera is in the mode you want to use. If you change the mode...it was disconnecting from the Wi-Fi. I found the app really easy to use. Now I can hook up a tablet with a huge 10 inch viewing screen which is awesome!! Looking to learn more. New subscriber here. Thank you.
I have had my camera for years and the first of your videos I watched... I have already learned something! had no idea!!! Thank you so much for posting these videos.
I have had my camera for over 2 years and have used in only in auto mode. After this video, I feel confident to take better pictures and enjoy my camera😀
I am really considering buying this camera. I am a beginner just wanting to get into photography. I would like to shoot family pictures, graduating seniors, portraits, etc. Do you recommend this camera? If so, what lense do you recommend for what I want to do?
Hello! I just started photography and have been using this specific camera for 6 months. Checkout my instagram (@marikagrace) to see what pictures looks like using this camera with a 50mm f/1.8. That lens is an affordable must have and game changer! --T7 is great beginner camera, I just wish it had more focus points. Upgrading soon!
I am new to this type of camera, I just got it for my birthday, a little overwhelmed, been using iPhone! But so excited to learn how to get wildlife photos, need a zoom for elk in view from my house.
I just picked up this camera today from my local shop Love it so far, I have not done photography for quite some time and am quite a "noob" when it comes to aperture, iso, etc Your videos are very helpful
Thank you so much for this!!!! I just bought this as my first camera ever and no clue how to even use it 🥴 you just helped me drastically with this! Thank you again ! 😄
Wonderful tutorial! Learning a lot about my T7. I didn't see this mentioned but remember that when you turn on the WiFi it disables the wire connection ports on the side. If you want to use your camera as a great web cam remember to turn off or disable the wifi and download Canon's software for using you camera as a webcam. The software is designed by Canon and at least when I download it, it was free.
Hi Paul great tutorial for T7. I’ve had this camera for a year and have learned a lot, no longer use the auto mode normally go to P mode when handheld and M when on a tripod and have gotten great pics. Thank you for sharing your knowledge awesome channel.
Thanks for the great feedback, the T7 is a very capable camera and I'm glad you are using it out of Auto! Thanks for watching, commenting and supporting my channel. Paul @ Photo Genius.
DEZ NUTZ hey Dez no I wouldn’t say that just yet. I still have a lot to learn what I have done is practice using M and P and gotten to understand how the camera settings work and that has gotten me out of the AUTO mode.
Nice video and upgraded from the T3 to the T7; I wish I knew some of this years ago son thanks for educating us and getting us off A+ and operating in program mode. Cheers!
I had to try to connect to my smartphone multiple times. Thanks to being able to scroll back and being able to watch that part, with a little trouble shooting, I got it figured out!!! I love all your videos, they have been an awesome resource for me and have helped my photos by helping me understand my camera and how to use it's settings!!!!!
Thank you for helping me get over being intimidated by this equipment! I had no idea that there was so much built in to this camera! I'm going to watch your video again, practice and get comfortable enough to maneuver through the options with ease. Just subscribed, too!
You are very easy to understand, you explain so i can follow along. You show pictures taken, change settings and shoot again so we can see the difference.I am glad for many things, but mainly 2. That there is digital camera ( i started in 1975 with foto, dias. :) But lost interest due to expensive equipment, and very few to learn from. And 2. That enthuastic people like yourselves have the gift to share your knowledge with us. It is not all skilled people who also have the gift to pass on what they know. Thank you. PS: Also makes it mostly obsolete to read any manual. The tips are out there. Just gotta catch them.
Great information as always, looking at buying a camera fairly soon for hopefully a cruise next year, so really great to see a good priced camera review. I don't think my old 2.1 meg Powershot will handle the pressure LOL
Fantastic Video and explanations. I used this camera in school, and I took what I think are some amazing photos of my horses. It’s been almost 2 years, one of my horses passed away 3 days ago. Now I want to get one of my own and take more photos while I can. This is amazing. Thank you
Very good review! I learned something new. Two questions: 1, when in Video mode how do you set it so it's not auto focusing consistently. 2, can you do a review on the lens 75-300 canon?
Hi Candice, I've only has the T7/1500D for a few days so I've yet to test the video functions. I will be featuring the Canon 75-300mm in a future video, coming soon.
Just bought my first camera ever, and I chose the Canon Rebel T7 but need to learn how to start using it. Thanks for sharing these fantastic tips to get started!
Hey we just purchased this and ypur tutorial helped alot! Thank you! One question, what is the difference between the RebelT7 and the RebelT7i? What would an i model be better for filming?
Thanks Paul, you helped me to move beyond the auto mode which I used in my previous camera (Nikon D40). It took great photos, but for some reason I did not feel comfortable exploring the other modes. I have just replaced that Nikon D40 with a Canon EOS Rebel T7 and have been watching your videos. I really like the moving from Auto to P to start playing around. The first time that I am now moving beyond Auto - thank you.
I just got this camera for Christmas and I am so glad I found this video. I was a bit overwhelmed with all the functions and cant wait to play around with the program function as well .
Hi Paul! I recently found a Nikon D70s camera in my grandfathers loft. I would like to know if I should sell it to get something like what you have, the D3500/D3400. I would like to know your thoughts :)
The 70D was my first digital DSLR camera. It would be about 15 years ago so very different to todays cameras, but if it works you should try it and see how it goes. Probably wouldn't get a lot of money if you sold it I'm afraid.
My husband just bought me the T7 camera for Christmas! This video has been super helpful and I learned some new tips so I'm not as intimidated by the camera! I can't wait to start taking pictures! I just subscribed and I hope to see more videos about the camera in the future, thank you!
Thank you so much. You’re a life saver. Me and my wife bought this camera at Costco a while back and have no idea how to use it. We haven’t taken the time to read the manual either so your video just helped me learn some of the basics to take better pictures and know what all these buttons do. Can’t wait to use the wifi app which is the most useful for me at this time since I wanna share my pics on social media without having to take out the sd card and go through all that. If i could give you a word of advice that my father actually gave to me and it actually worked.. just go out and take pics of literally everything...put the dials on the top on the first setting for each dial take a pic and then go to the next function on each dial.. SOME pics will turn out horrible and others will turn out stunning. just get out and practice practice practice.. I hope you have a fantastic time practicing..

Thank you! Received this camera as a gift and knew nothing about photography. Came across your video and l must say, l can now do more than just turning on the camera. Than you, will be watching more of your videos.
Thank you so much for covering the Canon T7. I have one and there are not very many videos on You Tube about it. Thank you again!
You are welcome sandy, more videos featuring the T7 coming soon.
Just purchased a 2000d last week for my course project, was planning to invest a bit of time to photography to learn how to use the functions of the Camera, but this video saved me a bunch of time. Thank you!
Thank you sir! This is exactly what I was looking for! This video explains it all! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Great to hear and appreciate the feedback, thank you.
I just received this camera as a holiday gift from my workplace in a “grand prize” raffle. I haven’t physically received this camera in the mail yet. But I am super excited to start learning how to use it and see what photography I am able to produce.
Wow congratulations! That’s a great prize, I hope you have fun with the camera and come back for more tips… 😀
Great idea. The more I use my T7 the more I like it. You have awesome tips on photography techniques and equipment.
Thank you very much - appreciate the feedback.
@@photogenius bro how we can access this in laptop windows wireless, can u please share the information
Thank you for this brilliant video. I received my T7 a few hours ago. I knew nothing about this camera or photography until i found your video.
Your videos have been incredibly helpful and I finally understand some of my cameras basic features so I can get out of Auto mode. It only took me an entire year to find someone who could explain it all to a complete beginner like myself. Thank you so much!!!
Happy to help, thanks for the feedback - hope you stick around, loads more videos coming.... 😀
Thank you.
Great as always Paul.. one thing you should mention when using the HDMI method to TV. You have to have the WIFI disabled otherwise it will not show.
Hi Steve - you are correct, thanks for the reminder.
Photo Genius pleasure sir... all the best
I have had my camera for years and the first of your videos I watched... I have already learned something! had no idea!!! Thank you so much for posting these videos.
Thank you for the information.. i just got my Canon EOS today , can't wait to get started!
I just received my T7, fresh from the box. Your video shows me everything I need to know! THANKS!
Great video! I just bought this camera. Will be spending a lot of time with you.
Thanks Rob, great to have you on board! 👍
Me to but I have to wait a little while till my birthday that is in 7 days I can't wait I'm going crazy
I have had my camera for over 2 years and have used in only in auto mode.
After this video, I feel confident to take better pictures and enjoy my camera😀
I don't have the T7 but what the hell, right? I like your videos, so nothing to lose here by watching them.
Thanks Jose - much appreciated 🙂
I got this from my kids for my 50th and I can't wait to learn how to use! Great video!😊
I am really considering buying this camera. I am a beginner just wanting to get into photography. I would like to shoot family pictures, graduating seniors, portraits, etc. Do you recommend this camera? If so, what lense do you recommend for what I want to do?
The T7 is a great camera. Purchase with the kit lens to start with, you may want to add a 50mm prime for solo portraits - but learn the camera first.
Hello, I got a T7 just a week ago and it is a great camera 👍👍📷
@@maikacastaneda4304 hi, i just got the camera today, do you have photos on your IG with the two lens that came with the camera?
@@pam9571 yes, go to jimlewy@instagram.com
I am new to this type of camera, I just got it for my birthday, a little overwhelmed, been using iPhone! But so excited to learn how to get wildlife photos, need a zoom for elk in view from my house.
Happy belated birthday - hope you get some good results with your camera, watch lots of videos, practice and have fun.
Paul @ Photo genius.
Thankyou for the tips , i just bought my camera this month.
Same here.. & How are you liking it?
can you make RUclips videos with the T7? I’m clueless as of now but I’m figuring it out
How is it?
I’m looking to get one soon
Returned this camera to Best Buy then went and bought a AR15
I just picked up this camera today from my local shop
Love it so far, I have not done photography for quite some time and am quite a "noob" when it comes to aperture, iso, etc
Your videos are very helpful
Thank you so much for this!!!! I just bought this as my first camera ever and no clue how to even use it 🥴 you just helped me drastically with this! Thank you again ! 😄
Glad I could help Sarah, thank you for the kind words and support.
B Valdes when you say you are no longer using auto, does that mean your not a beginner any longer?
DEZ NUTZ hey Dez no I wouldn’t say that just yet. I still have a lot to learn what I have done is practice using M and P and gotten to understand how the camera settings work and that has gotten me out of the AUTO mode.
B Valdes got you 💪🏾
I just buy my Canon camera, and I was using only Auto mode. All the info that you shared its so valuable, thanks a lot!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for the video! Canon is always lots of value for the buck! I have the SL2, and I love it!
Just got my SL2, love mine too.
Love the SL2 - a great camera
I’m a noob to photography and just purchased a Canon Rebel T7. This video was very helpful!
It's a great camera, I'm sure you will love it. - thanks for watching Theresa.
Hi Richard, appreciate the feedback. Will probably do a Canon T7 v Nikon D3500 video soon, they are both very popular cameras.
Your video was so informative! Thanks so much for your wonderful tips. Greatly appreciated!
Thanks again for another great tutorial! I actually have the T7I, but this helped in some understanding of the camera.
Thanks for watching, you are right - a lot off the features of the T7 are similar to your T7i.
Fantastic Video and explanations. I used this camera in school, and I took what I think are some amazing photos of my horses. It’s been almost 2 years, one of my horses passed away 3 days ago. Now I want to get one of my own and take more photos while I can. This is amazing. Thank you

Thank you very much 😀
This man is an exceptional explainer
Very good review! I learned something new.
Two questions: 1, when in Video mode how do you set it so it's not auto focusing consistently.
2, can you do a review on the lens 75-300 canon?
Hi Candice, I've only has the T7/1500D for a few days so I've yet to test the video functions. I will be featuring the Canon 75-300mm in a future video, coming soon.
@@photogenius Thank you sir, whenever you get a chance. Thank you for all the great videos!

2WildBoys the t7i is a far more superior camera
Ok paul thank you very much I will stick to it for now as it is working
Hi, I am Rubén from Puebla, México. I bought my Canon T7 a month ago and I like it, thanks for the tips!!!
Great to hear! Thank you for the feedback Rubén, best wishes.
I just got the canon eos 4000d, been having some trouble shutting fast shutter images, can u do a video step-by-step, plzz?
I’ll be doing a video that goes into shutter speed in more detail soon.
@@photogenius thx do much
Paris Tyler is that when the camera take like 4 pictures really fast?
Thanks a million!!!
From one Brizzy guy to another(now living in the uk). Thank you. Ive got the 1200D basically the same camera minus the wifi phone connect. This vid still helped me a *Lot*
Canada is watching as well brother. LOL Just purchased the T7, arriving tomorrow. Have been watching your vids over the Christmas holidays. MAN, I've learned so much. Your channel is top notch.
Thank you so much I will finally be able to unlock the absolute full potential for my photography and camera itself. This is the best thing I know how to do. ❤❤
Your are the only one to simplify how it's down thank you very much
I just bought that very camera with a kit 18-55mm, Picked up a 55-250 telephoto lens (was priced incorrectly so I saved $175), and now I am binge watching all your videos, learned a lot so far, but it being winter in the Great White North and were I am it is wet, will be a bit before I can make regular foray into the wild.
I've wanted a camera for long time and this is the one I got and I'm looking forward to using it
It's a great camera Anna, I'm sure you will love it

Hi, I got the Canon T7 a few weeks ago. I am a beginner, and your videos have been very, very helpful in taking great photos with my new camera. Your videos have are detailed and easy to understand. Thanks you , and I look forward to watching more of them!
I had no clue what I was doing after purchasing this camera. You explained everything well and now I’m on my way! I’m about to propose to my girlfriend of 10 years. Thanks for the help. Now I can capture the moment.
Awesome! and congratulations 👏
Excellent video! So many photographers are good at photography, but certainly not all of them know how to teach. So, thank you. I’m learning a lot from your videos. 🙌
Oh thanks! I just bought this to replace my T3. It does sooo much more but is still familiar!! Thanks a lot!
Just purchased one. New to using a DLSR, and looking to take photos of my son's basketball. Thank you for the info!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I've had my Canon for 2 years and this is the best video for beginners. Subscribed.
This was really helpful! Thank you! I haven't had a DSLR in about 14 years and have forgotten... a lot. This video was a great refresh!
You're very welcome, happy to help.
I just got this camera and I have never had a camera before so I didn't even know where to start this is an amazing video!! Thank You.
I just got mine for Christmas. I have 2 older cameras one digital that uses compact flash and a 35mm. I can't wait to use all the different functions on this one.
Have fun Latisha. Happy New Year to you.
