I have a canon rebel t7, I love it. Your calm voice and detailed explanation of how to while performing the functions has been so extremely helpful! Thank you 🙏🏾!
When my wife and daughters bought me a 2000D Cannon camera for Father's Day a year and a half ago, I had no clue what I was doing until I found your videos. I'm certainly not a professional, but I can now take photos that I'm proud of and really enjoy. Thank you, and Merry Christmas.
Hi Paul. I like watching your tutorials. I’ve had my Canon tr7 for just over a year, and I’ve just started to get more serious about using all the buttons and gadgets. Being on the elderly side, I don’t always catch things the first time but….. I love that I can play the tutorials over again.
I've had my 800D since 2017 and never really knew what I was doing. I stuck it on AV and hoped for the best. That * sort of* worked, but I grew disillusioned and the camera was consigned to the cupboard. This vid re-ignited my interest. Very helpful, thank you.
Hi Paul; Thank you very much for all your helpful tutorials videos. May your Christmas be graced with peace, joy, and blessings! Merry Christmas to you!
Hey Paul. Im new to photography and excited about learning the ins and outs. I bought a refurbished Rebel T100 to learn from. Watching this video has gotten me excited to use it. Still have to get my memory card first though XD. Thanks for this video.
Hello Paul ! There is never a time that I watch your channel that I don't learn something new on my old camera ! Merry Christmas to you and yours from the U.S.A ...
Awesome video ! I have the T7 I really enjoy the tips. I would like to know about using the flash / external flash in future videos Thank you for for amazing tutorials
Hello Paul. You've inspired me to have a go at more creative photography! My wife's Christmas present is a Canon 250D which looks great for me to practise on using the Manual settings. Your tuition skills are exemplary! Keep those videos coming please!
Hi Paul , many thanks for all the help Tutorials though out this year , great stuff, hopefully next year we can get across to visit family up in Rocky , "Merry Christmas " and take care
Hi Paul Thanks so much for taking the time to make these videos you have really helped me so very much. Please keep the videos coming. quick question do you have any training videos on using the Flash i have the Cannon external flash thanks in advance
I've had a 200d for 2.5 years now and predominantly use it for nightscape photography with a Tokina 14-20mm lens, I helped a mate achieve his first milky way image back in October and as he has a Nikon and only ever used it in full auto mode it was a challenge to find everything needed to change and it's menu's were just horrible to navigate
really enjoying your channel Paul, and finding it very helpful, even though I did consider myself reasonably knowledge on photographic theory before finding it. One thing I would like to know more about is back button focus, which I have read about but not sure if it is something worth activating and using at all. I have a Canon 1200D
Maybe you could make a video of how to take pictures in winter so that the snow was white and not gray or blue. How do I set the exposure compensation and white balance? Because so far my photos are in shades of gray and I am a beginner in photography. By the way, you are doing a really good job. I am from Poland and I have already watched all your films and I watch them on a regular basis, it is fun to watch them and I found out a lot through them. Regards, and keep going 😊
If you want the snow to look white I would suggest increasing your exposure by +1 stop. I had the same problem as you with snow looking either blue or gray a few years ago. Try this and take a few photos to see how they turn out. I usually increase my exposure anywhere between +1 to +1.5 and do test shots. Good luck with your winter photography ❄⛄
Hi Paul, I really enjoy your videos, just to say that you don't have the option to set the flash button in Canon T7, I don't see that option unfortunately, wish i could set other button to aperture control. Greetings
Paul, if the T3 is in Manual mode and AUTO ISO (rather than a specific ISO), and in Live View, shouldn't I be able to access Exposure Compensation (not bracketing)?
As a mirrorless shooter, a lot of your tips doesn't work for me. I don't have a ISO or AV button. I did learn something new about my dial! I thought that for me to change ISO/Aperture or Shutter Speed, I had to first touch the option on my screen, then I can use the dial to change it. However I now know that there is a little gear symbol that is always on either Aperture or Shutter Speed, so I can always change which ever one the gear is on. With realizing a button I've touch before will switch the gear between the two, I can now look through the EVF and change the two most important settings. So thanks for that. I've also notice the flashing notices on the histogram. So that's a second tip that was still useful to me. Thanks.
Hi Paul. Great video, thanks. Is it possible to take a shot on the Rebel T7 with Live View on? I’ve found when using Live View for composing, that the shutter button won’t depress fully until I go back to the normal display and I have to use the viewfinder. 🤷🏻♂️
Absolutely - when using Live View the focus may be slower, so hold the shutter halfway down and wait for the lens to focus - then depress fully. If this does not work try manual focus.
When looking through the viewfinder and half pressing the shutter button, you will see the auto-focus red dots. Use these to align your camera to the subject.
Paul, I have a question. If I have set my camera shooting mode dial to 'M', will I still be able to the use auto setting for my ISO...or will the ISO need to be set manually? I use a Canon 5D mark 3.
Hi Paul: As I understand that after you set the ISO and shutter speed, if the F setting starts flashing after pressing down the shutter button half way, this is an indication that the shutter speed needs to be lowered or the ISO could be raised to stop the F setting from flashing. Is this correct? Chuck
I have a question. I have a Canon Rebel T7. When I am in Tv mode and I try changing the exposure compensation, I press the shutter button like you showed to have my camera automatically adjust the aperture but when I turn the dial to change the exposure the aperture just flashes on F4.0 and does not change when I change the exposure. Why does mine not change but yours does? Thank you for your help.
This is because the aperture opening on your lens can only open to a maximum of f/4.0. You will need to increase the camera ISO such that the desired shutter speed (Tv) and aperture (> f4.0) render a proper exposure. It may be good to set the camera ISO to AUTO so you can change the exposure compensation. Also keep in mind that the maximum aperture may vary by focal length if it is a zoom lens.
Paul, I have a Canon rebel T7i. I have tried more than once to set up my focus function to "back-button focus". This was to prevent my camera from refocusing each time I partly depressed the shutter button. For a while after I set the focus function to the back button it seemed to work fine with no focusing from the shutter button. BUT, after a while the focus started changing when I partly pressed the shutter button AND still focused with pressing the back-button. Some time later I tried resetting the focus function to back-button again. Once again it worked for a while, but then reverted to focusing with both the shutter button and the back-button. HELP! What, if anything, can I do to permanently set up and retain back-button focusing AND prevent any further shutter button focusing??? Thank you.
How come the size of Raw images in Canon 1500D come out more than 24MB? Can you tell how the file size of a Raw image vary from picture to picture? Thank You ❤️
Hi Paul, I am an estate agent and when taking a picture of a room into window it always take in too m7ch light at the window and dulls the rest of the shot Thanks Karen
Great video as always. I bought a Canon T7 6 months ago from Best Buy. It didn't come with a battery charger nor did Best Buy offer one or even have the ability to order one. If you are thinking about buying a Canon camera buy the battery charger first. Best Buy did offer to sell me new batteries every time my batteries went dead. I'm on my second battery now but only use my Canon sparingly. Very sparingly. Does anyone know where I could buy a battery charger? Love to follow along with your great videos but can't afford to turn my camera on very often.
This sounds ridiculousness. Pretty sure all Canon cameras would come with a charger. This seems like you brought a camera that was returned and someone took out the charger. And offering to sell new batteries sounds criminal. I would contact Canon. It might be too long for them to do something about it, but they need to hear about this.
Helps a lot. I went from a T3 to a T7. Same with big improvements. I’m a advanced amateur. It suits me

How can you focus at night time in a very low light circumstance? Please advise. Thanks
Move the focus point to an area where there is contrast, if still struggling then go with Manual Focus.
When you take the pictures you use as examples do you use the lens that comes with the camera or do you have an upgraded one you use?
Hi Paul. In a video you made a number of months ago, you were going to evaluate Nisi night filters. I'm just very curious what your verdict was.
Hi Ivan, the results with the NiSi night filter are great Ivan, Happy New Year to you.

Can I crop my photos while they are still in my camera?; Cannon t7

It may be good to set the camera ISO to AUTO so you can change the exposure compensation. Also keep in mind that the maximum aperture may vary by focal length if it is a zoom lens.
