    Best explanation I've seen yet on helping me to understand the shutter , it' has literally had me frozen in my tracks, because I have been so afraid of messing it up & getting nothing but blur. I've been shooting for over 5 yrs & all in manual. but when it comes to this, I think I freak myself out. I will be watching this again , so I can get it to sink in my ' noodles up top " . You made it sound so simple. Thank you so much 😊👋

    I first started watching your tutorials after my wife bought me a Canon T7 because your videos featured that particular model. But after watching I realized how well all of your tutorials are put together. Extremely helpful, well thought out, adding more understanding to make even the novice a better photographer. And it’s not just the tutorials themselves but the manner in which they are given. Clear and concise, yet never talking down to anyone. It’s like as the professional you remember what it was like to be the beginner and can put yourself in the shoes of the student. I’ve watched several tutorials but yours are the best hands down. Without these tutorials I’m not sure I would have had the same level of interest and joy. I watch basic tutorials over again so that I make sure I remember the details while looking forward to the next. Bravo!!!

    Thankyou for another great video Paul, at the start of the video in a couple of your example photos a couple of the skyline buildings showed a pronounced lean. Could you possibly do a segment explaining the cause of the "leaning" & how to minimise it with lens options etc.
    Love watching your tips Paul, as the previous poster mentioned it helps as a refresher course as well as helping new photographers.
    Keep up the good work mate.

    please help w/ SS when using AV mode.

    • @photogenius
      @photogenius  2 года назад

      Hi Deb, When using Av (Aperture priority) mode, you will be able to change the aperture and the camera will look after the shutter automatically for you. So for example if you choose a wide aperture (low f number) then the camera will choose a faster shutter speed than it would do if you chose a smaller aperture (bigger f number) because a wider lens would let more light in the camera. Of course if changing the shutter speed is important to you then try shutter priority (Tv) mode.
      I hope that helps.
      Paul

    I find your videos very helpful and genuinely interesting, however, I try not to let it grind on me that you pronounce key words incorrectly. You know whats coming don't you? I am pretty sure that there is no "d" in the word Photo. You may have picked up some bad habits from living amongst Australians, but as far as I am aware, they speak the Queens English too. Do they say "phodo"? Keep up the good work and pay as much attention to my petty gripe as you wish!

    Paul, I'm trying to understand something about shutter speed and the use of flash. I understand that one should not exceed the flash sync limits of a particular camera, so that one doesn't get the black band across the image. And, if I'm right, flash is usually so bright as to make ambient light irrelevant, so the only reason to select a particular shutter speed (slower than the flash sync speed), is because it plays a part in the exposure triangle, to give "correct" exposure for a given chosen aperture and ISO - is that correct??
    Please advise, thank you!
