I’m just glad someone is pushing Jeep. They are far too expensive for what you get and have rested on their laurels too long. This is good for the consumer no matter which you buy.
I don’t think the price difference is enough to push consumers to one side or the other yet. $400 cheaper is not enough to get me to buy a Bronco. Maybe in the future one of these companies will truly price their product competitively but for now it’s about features and style.
Just bought a 2021 Wrangler diesel. I LOVE it! However, The Bronco does look amazing. So far, I really like what Ford did. My brother had a 1977 orange Bronco. Yeah, I think Ford did an awesome job so far.
@@joshuahendershot3852 yeah but the cost to upkeep a diesel is ridiculous, for a jeep that is. You have to run DEF fluid, and diesels quite a lot more $$ than standard 87 or 89. I mean, if you can afford it, then cool but I think its a terrible investment for a jeep haha
This man complaining about the plastic interior not being “nice” in the Bronco.. Well Ford made it for off-roading, not the pavement. If you want luxury you get the OuterBanks trim
Sasquatch is a 2500 dollar option on the badlands. It's only 5k on the base model once they let you get it with a manual. Other than that it's about 7k because until later this year it forces you into an automatic.
The base Jeep is $400 cheaper than base Bronco but the Jeep does not come standard with a/c, its a $1400 option. The base Bronco can be optioned with front/rear lockers and 35s, only top trim Jeep has them. I love the Jeep, but i got to say Ford did an outstanding job bringing the Bronco back. Plus that 2.7 eco is a beast. Another thing, every other Jeep video Tommy and Roman bitch about the seats, lack of support, lack of adjustment for tall people, how is the Bronco in comparison. Btw, stop whining about the plastic interior, every car has plastic interior.
Any other tall people out there excited about the Bronco not having that centre beam? Idk about you guys but that was the headrest for me whenever I'm unfortunately sitting in one.
Main reason I ordered a Bronco. I test drove 4 Jeep’s last month, even brought one home to demo. I’m 6’4, and with the seat all the way back in the Jeep, my head would hit the speaker bar. My 4 dr Badlands is scheduled to be built last week of July. Fingers crossed it doesn’t get pushed back.
The fact jeep makes you pay for led headlights on all the trims other than the high altitude and the 392 is a disappointment. You can spec a rubicon to almost 56k and still have halogen headlights.
That’s ridiculous on Jeep’s part LED headlights should standard on Sahara trim and above. But don’t forget Jeep still changes $495 extra for remote start except for Rubicon 392. Hopefully for 2022 or 2023 Jeep will add more standard equipment since it actually has solid competition now.
Hopefully Ford starts doing the same with their trucks. My 2020 f-150 with a price tag of 55k came with halogens. Only the top tier trucks in the ford lineup come with LEDS.
@@Theoneandonlyearthhuman much cheaper to maintain? You're funny! LEDs require no maintenance. The LED headlights might outlast the vehicle itself! Plus they generate less heat and provide superior lighting. Halogens are an old technology that needs to die already. I'd take LED and HID over halogen.
I believe that the Bronco materials are more plasticy because it's a full washout interior. You can take a hose and hose it down and then use the built in drain plugs to dry it.
my girlfriend's 5.0 mustang has the little auto roll up window feature since they're frameless doors, and that car has been through it all and they still work. from 2006! ford seems to know how to make that pretty reliable.
I've always found cheaper feeling materials clean better just pointing that out lol get them dirty then clean tell me witch is easier too clean for a off roader it's probably better am I wrong ?
My old Impreza had frameless windows, and I pushed more through the dirt than 90% of Broncos will ever see. Held up fine, I expect the two decade newer Bronco frameless windows to hold up just as well. Frameless windows are awesome.

It's a great comparison, but I think the biggest comparison should be how these two fair against each other on some technical off-road trails. Will that be coming in an upcoming video?
Yeah Chrysler should answer with a ram charger and updates to the jeep such as floor plugs, marine grade vinyl seats and a bigger nav screen or least make those optional.
I was very worried about those windows on my 2012 Mustang, but after thousands of door opening rolldowns they are still going strong. I hope the Bronco has the same longevity. ~10 years is all you should ask for in a modern wire-driven window anyway.
The insiders at FCA have been looking to improve the Wrangler as soon as they found out the real numbers behind the new Ford Bronco a while back. Prepare for a new Wrangler in the coming years.
No way, Ford new what they were doing teasing the Bronco right after the JL launched. Look at the F150, Tundra, JK Wrangler, Civic, etc... car manufacturers want to recycle as much of the platform they can for the next generation. Jeep might come out with different fenders, but I highly doubt they would scrap the platform not even half way through its product cycle. Also, the Wrangler can run 35" tires stock, 37" tires with the right back spacing and bump stop extensions. . Jeep has done their homework and they know very few people need the Rubicon gear. It's cool AF, but basically it's mostly bought for style which I assume is the case for the Sasquatch. All they need to do is make a rear locker, high fender, and 35" tire package available across all trims and voila. The Wrangler is already the superior chassis though. You can literally bolt on a pro rock 44 front axle and 40" tires with a high angle lift kit and new fenders. . But the Bronco's rear top panels are removable and that's my biggest complaint about my JT Rubicon. Should have given it a roll down rear window and 4 freedom panels to remove along with the side panels. That and auto roll up windows for godsake.
@@KTMcaptain Wranglers don't have 35s from the factory right now because they don't actually fit without rubbing. "Superior chassis" is a stupid comment, you're basically saying old=better which is nonsense. IFS is better in almost all situations on and off road and and having coilovers at all 4 corners is exponentially better than the Jeep setup.
@@mechmat12345 Wrong, wrong, and wrong again. Wranglers don't come with 35s because they didn't need to come with them since 33s can clear the Rubicon trail. Stock Rubicon fenders clear 35" tires without rubbing and will clear 37" tires with a simple bump stop extension. Do your research kid. . I never said older is better. I said it has the superior chassis. If independent suspension was better, then why did the Bronco go with a solid rear axle? You lack any critical thinking skills. Ford went with IFS because its cheaper and easier and could be carried over from the Ranger platform. Also, the suspension travel under articulation is just better than what the bronco can do and only gets better when modified with higher misalignment bushings. If you don't understand why or how, then I'd suggest you do your research kid. But the Bronco does not come with KOH style IFS, and plenty of Ultra4 trucks have solid front axles... but what do race truck builders know next to a compliant Ranger IFS setup? . Coilovers aren't better intrinsically than a shock and spring outside of reducing mass. In fact, the best shocks in the world are not coilovers. F1 cars use heave sprung suspension and Trophy Trucks use external bypass shocks and coil carriers. Again, do your research kid. 🤡🤡🤡
Tommy mentioned the Bronco tie downs on the hood look like gun sights. I wonder if Ford did that on purpose. They may line up with the front tires, giving you a better way to position this tires on the trail. Much like Jeep did the the JK.
My brother owns a Ford dealership and yes it was deliberate. Good eye. Although the front facing camera on the 12 inch screen is where it's at. VERY useful and kinda common sense I can't understand why jeep or for that matter EVERY manufacturer hasn't adopted that beauty.
As a long time wrangler owner, I have a few observations that may help others like me cross shopping the Bronco: The fenders on the Jeep are so wide because the tires are pushed outwards from the body more. If you really do hard core off roading, this should matter to you. It keeps your body work away from obstacles when you're deep in the ruts, or on a side slant towards the ground. Wish they popped off like the Bronco though! That's an awesome feature. Lets be real about the IFS. It is better in every off road situation except for hard core flex heavy off roading. The problem is... this vehicle competes with the most hard core off roader on the market. It won't replace the wrangler in that regard, but the FJ Cruiser guys went hard with IFS back in the day, and the Taco and 4Runner guys do it now to a bit of a lesser extent. My Wranger's flat rear floor after folding the seats down is one of its unexpectedly best features. I think it's impossible to convey how truly useful this makes a vehicle like the wrangler. It's literally a gigantic box, and is ridiculously practical (4 door). One of the biggest misses on the Bronco in my opinion. One of the biggest misses on the Wrangler is the base price value. The wrangler base has: No power windows, no power locks, no LED headlights, no AC, no keyless entry, and a soft top. The Bronco has all of this and a hard top, and is only a couple of grand more (CAD). To get all of this on a wrangler, you'd have to spend TEN THOUSAND MORE (CAD). Now, I love the base model wrangler. Some people don't want all the options I just listed, and I get that... but the price should reflect that, and it clearly DOESN'T.
The only reason why wranglers cost a lot is the demand since the bronco is out now it might change that I could be wrong but I noticed a huge price jump 6-7 years ago
As an engineer put it, the Bronco is better at everything once you hit 5mph, which is 99% of the time off road. The Wrangler can never match the Bronco in most off road situations, until they ditch the solid front axle. FYI, in the US the Base Bronco starting price is like $200 more than a Wrangler in two door configuration, and comes with the hard top.
I have owned and loved Wranglers since 1996. I wouldn't trade my newish Jeep for a new Bronco but I'll almost certainly add a Bronco to the collection in a year or 2 when demand slows down.
The bronco front diff can be locked independently. The front lock on the jeep is in tandem to the rear locker only. Just a little detail the bronco did better.
Enough of the banging on the dash. No one even touches the dash when using a vehicle. Will it last 50 years? Does it wipe off easily? Only relevant questions.
Speak for yourself. I hate the cheap plastics in my Expedition. Every time I have occasion to touch them I wonder why Ford cheaped out on a 60k vehicle.
What you all miss is that Ford's base engine offers great power and the optinal 2.7 one isn't that much more and is a true beast of a motor. The base jeep v6 is a boat anchor and the optional turbo 2.0 make's much less power than either Ford Engine. If the diesel costs the same as the Ford 2.7 v6 I'd say that's an advantage, but I bet it's quite expensive. Good video
I love seeing someone who is tall sit inside. Great video. Would love to see a side by side comparison with Jeep and Bronco loaded with a weekends worth of camping gear and taken out on the trail. How does each perform with all that weight? I had a Jeep but couldn’t trust it past warranty. We would always load it down with camping gear and when doing so there were quite a few times when the suspension bottomed out on serious obstacles. It was a blast and my attention is fully on the Bronco for getting back to that open air off road experience.
Friend of mine has a Jeep 2 doors and he took out the rear seat and made a "tool box" from the back of the front seat to the back door at the same level of the wheelwells, all out of steel, totally flat, that opens upward. Kinda Ridgeline-like. He put a motorcycle elastic net on top. You can store stuff on top of it. It is brilliant ! So much more storage space.
New car buyers will disagree. This what new car owners prioritize when buying In order of importance Fuel econ Safety Price Suitability High quality Warranty Comfort So you can argue quality/reliability is the 5th most important.
Finally, the Jeep Wrangler is going to go through some major chances in the next few years. Got to love competition!!! Ford fan and previous-future Bronco owner here.
"everything you touch is pretty nice" then plays with the cheap plastic air vent haha Also I think its funny when people say random plastics in vehicles that normally are never touched don't feel quality. Umm when was the last time you stroked your dash on your car?
I would love to hear more about the visibility comparison between the two. The jeeps lower and narrower hood are probably going to make a much bigger difference in placement and confidence when offroading. But the ford definitely has a cooler looking interior and love the rubberized floor!
@@AircraftMechanic-AP They honestly should have waited and replaced the ranger with a bronco truck. The front end on the bronco is far cooler then the current ranger.

First off I’m not a Jeep, or any other 4x4 off road vehicle owner… For a short time I thought I wanted a Bronco. Then Ford started the marketing games. I did my research, looked at the two vehicle’s features/specs etc. and when I do finally purchase a 4x4 off road vehicle it’ll be the Jeep. It looks more at home out exploring whereas the Bronco appears to be a city car that you can take off road. Yes Ford did there homework, “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”.

Do appreciate the honest side by side comparison. I didn't even want to know about the bronco because I'd just purchased a new rubicon. Seeing this I'm even happier with my jeep. None of them are perfect but the main issue is to enjoy your vehicle and be safe. 👍
The Bronco interior just feels like a complete upgrade over the Jeep. It's just that simple. Exterior they both look really good...rugged and purpose built. Can't wait for the trail workouts.
Didn't realize how far those bronco mirrors stick out until it's next to a wrangler. Gonna be smacking some trees on the trails unless you fold them back.
Tommy , what u mentioned on the hood of the bronco can also be used to run strings or cables to the roof for forging through brush and tree limbs , the string let's the limbs roll up over the cab/ windshield... Js
IMO, the wrangler is better looking...and smaller looking, which is an advantage if you're going off road in tight areas. The bronco is not bad at all, either, it just looks strange from the side.
I'm glad Ford is producing the Bronco again. Maybe that will allow for a better deal for the price because right now, both the Jeep and the Bronco, the prices are very high. We will see in the future but I hope that the competition between the two will be to the advantage of the customer compared to the price and also to the general quality of the two vehicles. Ford will have to improve the interior finish with better materials without inflating prices. On the Jeep side, improve the protection of the frame. This one rusts quickly if it is not protected. So an improvement on that side for Jeep. Nice job guys for the presentation and comparison.
With the door windows I’ve been replacing auto glass for 25 years. Not having a window frame makes for a hard install with a aftermarket glass. The Ford Mustang has the same install and I always recommend getting factory glass for that application. Which means you’re paying $150 plus for a replacement.

It's kinda doing the opposite. It's stimulating the off-road vehicle market, might even drive jeep to be more competitive. Anything that helps people get into off road vehicles is good in my book whether it's a 4runner, Samurai, or Land Rover.
I agree with you in regards to the dash, tech is great until it breaks. LCD screens look nice, but expensive if you need to replace especially with OEM.
There are people out there including me who hate a full screen for the gauge cluster. Putting in a screen is very cheep for an automaker compared to actual physical gauges and needles that move. I'll bet after some time auto makers will have the screen as standard and physical gauges as an option.
@@raionshishi8290 tech, I've had screens go bad on phones. And I'm sure that extreme weather like cold and heat can and will affect an LCD panel. Obviously the quality of the screen is important also. My point being is if you hold on to a vehicle for a long time, like I do, the chances of a failure are increased. So to fix something like that out of warranty would be expensive. I have a 2016 JK and the radio went bad in it, luckily it was under warranty.
Did I hear you say the Sasquatch package is 7K ? If you did say, you are mistaken. It’s about 5K in the base model and as you get a better model the price drops to 2K because the better models has part of the Sasquatch equipment already in the suspension.
Love the new Bronco . I have a jeep but I also ordered a new Bronco and I can’t wait for the off road after markets companies to get going on the Bronco. I believe this is also going to make jeep get better.
1 HUGE advantage to halogen headlights. They melt snow. I've had LED's on my Wranglers freeze over several times during snowfall, dramatically impairing the output to where they were virtually useless. So I'd call that at best a draw, not necessarily an advantage for LED's.
That’s awesome. But I wouldn’t call it a draw for the average driver. Most drivers will never see driving conditions of snow that impair LED headlights. (Yes it happens) but the daily driving benefit fits of LED headlights definitely out weighs halogens where I live. I own a Jeep with LED headlights. I wish they were standard on all models.
I'm happy the bronco is coming out which will hopefully push innovation between the two companies which is good for us consumers, but the bronco is going to need a few years before anyone can say if it will compete with the wrangler or not. Wow, I wanted to like the Bronco more. But, having one next to a Jeep I must say the Jeep still looks better in my opinion and seems to be more off road capable due to its solid axel suspension. Guess we'll have to see the off road comparisons.
Have you made a video of removing the hard top yet? Potential big advantage over the 140lb rear of a JKU/JLU and I’m curious how complex it is and how long it takes.
The Bronco would be better to jump the curb between Popeyes and the Meijers and get to the top of the berm so you could make it like pride rock in the Lion King. You could eat a spicy chicken sandwich, while the passengers could get the groceries. You would need to drive back down though, as no grocery cart will make it up that landscaped hill.
The Bronco is obviously a more usable, sophisticated, livable option. The Wrangler is much more old school, rough around the edges… Now, there are two ways of looking at the Wrangler- 1) it’s old school and unsophisticated because it’s tried and true and rugged. Literally, when they added FM radios people complained; 2) it’s had no competition in its niche for decades. It hasn’t had to keep up with the times in order to sell. Personally, I’d lean towards the Bronco. I’ve had a Wrangler, for a couple of years, and it just got old for long driving. I test drove a Gladiator, hoping it’d be better, but it wasn’t. I’m hoping the Bronco is a better daily livable car with legit OffRoad chops. If you want a super basic, old school, off-roader, you can go for a CJ or a side by side.
By the looks of some of the teasers Jeep is releasing I’d say the ground clearance and break over angle advantages the Bronco has are going to be short lived. This rivalry is great for the consumer 👍
A half inch here or there isn't going to matter in real world use. Any clearance/angle wars the two automakers engage in will be academic, almost everyone will buy based on other factors.

2 door vs 4 door. Come on guys, let’s do an apples to apples comparison.
Looks like you didn't watch the video. They compared a 4 door Wrangler when they examined the back seat and cargo area
As a long time wrangler owner, I have a few observations that may help others like me cross shopping the Bronco:
The fenders on the Jeep are so wide because the tires are pushed outwards from the body more.
@@mechmat12345 Right? The base 2 door Bronco is an amazing value compared to the Wrangler right now. My hype for this vehicle is pretty high.

@@andrewcosta5001 that is sooo true. I mean - a knob is VERY over rated in todays world. Way tooooooo simple
The jeep has that problem because the headlamps are set in. The broncos headlights are flush thus snow won't be nearly as bad.

I am just now noticing the new bull bar is taller, revealing the Bronco name badge on grill. Looks great 👍
Have you made a video of removing the hard top yet? Potential big advantage over the 140lb rear of a JKU/JLU and I’m curious how complex it is and how long it takes.
Very good comparison. But which one is a better mall crawler and grocery getter?
The Bronco would be better to jump the curb between Popeyes and the Meijers and get to the top of the berm so you could make it like pride rock in the Lion King.
You could eat a spicy chicken sandwich, while the passengers could get the groceries. You would need to drive back down though, as no grocery cart will make it up that landscaped hill.
The Bronco is obviously a more usable, sophisticated, livable option. The Wrangler is much more old school, rough around the edges…
Now, there are two ways of looking at the Wrangler- 1) it’s old school and unsophisticated because it’s tried and true and rugged.
They are equally usable, sophisticated, and livable. Sounds like you should be driving a Buick.
That green and tan top combo is beautiful. Wish they offered a tan hardtop
I truly like the bronco nice looking vehicle its nice to have speakers in the Fiat jeep so you can listen to music while waiting for a tow
So nothing of significance to add, got it Fanboy. Do you feel better now that you have expressed your ignorance for all to see.
