Exactly! I think the only thing I would miss on a daily driver is the keyless entry. I actually really like the smaller screen and the fact that there are knobs for everything, my 4Runner is like that and that's one of my favorite things about it. Any vehicle that doesn't have manual controls for features is a deal-breaker for me.

@@trailrunnah8886 I guess it all depends on where you live but for me owning a soft top Wrangler I almost never lock the doors. If someone want in it’s pretty easy to get in plus when I take the doors off you can’t lock them anyway. I just don’t leave anything that I care too much about in the Jeep.

@@ANDYDARKO31 that's a really good point, they're so easy to get into anyway with a soft top. That does make sense to leave the doors unlocked, hopefully if they want to break into it they'll try the doors before they slash up the top.

This was refreshing! A few years ago, I was driving my old 1991 Jeep Wrangler - very basic compared to modern Jeeps. Your Jeep reminds me of my Jeep. Also, it seems no matter what kind of Jeep Wrangler you have, another Wrangler driver will generally give the “Jeep Wave” - it is a good feeling whenever I get that wave! I pulled into a gas station once and by chance, I saw a gentleman with an old military Jeep and someone with the latest Rubicon. We ended up having a coffee talking about Jeeps and mutual respect for each other’s vehicles. Enjoy your new ride!

The 2.3 has been used in the Ranger and the Mustang for the last few years and there’s already many of them out there. The 2.7 has been in the F150 for a number of years as well. Both have a proven reliability. I don’t think the drivetrain part of your video is all that valid, for that reason. That Jeep is really nice, though. So I hope it gives you years of fun, memories and reliability.

Nice buy! Also I honestly like having manual adjust climate controls. Sometimes when its 75 degrees Im cold. Sometimes when its 45 degrees out, I'm hot. With a manual control, I can set the air how I like it. I'm not always happy with the temp that automated climate controls set.
Sometimes I feel that automakers put all this junk in cars just so they can justify making higher trim levels and upcharging people.

You bought the best deal there is for a Jeep. I had (until I gave it to my daughter) a 2017 2 door Willys , with NO power windows, but a hard top and an automatic (so my wife would drive if if she had to). When I see a 2 door Jeep I tell my wife that's a genius Jeep, especially if you have to turn around on a trail or navigate through the woods. When I woke up after giving the best Jeep I ever had to my daughter, I bought another 2 door, but a Rubicon this time (it was a steal). I think the Willys will go anywhere the Rubicon can, just that the Rubicon will do it with ease. Like one of the comments below the Willys is "Everything you need and nothing you don't".

I have reservation for a Bronco reservation as well. A 2 door outer banks configured at around 45k. Supposedly getting built in a week or two. I could wait any longer and needed a DD so I bought a 2021 Wrangler 4 Door Willys edition in January. It stickers at 45K as well. I would have have loved a stick Wrangler but unfortunately the 6 speed is unavailable with 4 cylinder turbo which is far superior to the Pentastar in the Mountains of Wyoming and Colorado... On the Bronco side you can't combine a manual with heated seats in an easy way. For instance you basically could get the manual with a base model or you had to get a 55K Badlands to get the manual and heated seats. In many ways the Bronco can be a better value than wrangler. In base trim you still get AC, PW, PL's for instance.. Many more options are available around view camera's wireless charging for instance. I am disappointed by the weight, I do wonder how much the Sasquatch package weighs.

Love how he points out the air conditioning vents on the Bronco, for the rear passengers, is located on the floor. Last I checked.....cold air descends and hot air rises. So in essence, you will cool your passengers feet....great, that's just wonderful. I always scratch my head when I see a design flaw this bad, it's as if someone at the very end of the design process said "hey, we need air conditioning for the rear passengers" and the response was "okay, lets just throw them down here and be done with it".

First 4 months will be bliss in your Wrangler. Beyond that you will be ready to replace it thanks to that soft roof. Make no mistake, the roof and vinyl windows will soften. At freeway/highway speeds, the air will cause those windows to bellow. That means prolonged driving will wear on your eardrums. The drive will no longer be enjoyable as it was in the first 5 months. You may get a few extra months if you never open the roof in topless mode. You would have been better served getting a removable hard top.

Good choice and I understand ordering. In 2014, I was looking for a 4 door with a limited slip, an auto so my wife could drive it and nothing else. The best way to get it was to order it. It got my color choice, the dash cubby, wind up windows, no power locks and I took the steel wheels and immediately put some snows on them. Pizza cutter alloys on Craigslist with good tires are $200 to $250 for 5. A good set up upsized tires for offroads on pizza cutters and a set of spacers and I'm able to do blues all day and lower end blacks. I do like the red (mine's white). That Willys Sport wasn't an option for me back then. If I wanted any upgrade, it required power locks/mirrors/windows, the hack in and drive it radio, running boards and alloys for $3500. No thanks. If I were to buy a new one now, I'd get exactly what you did, minus the color because I'm too cheap to pay for a color, so white would be it.

I think the Bronco is more like a supersized Renegade. Especially the way it spends a lot of time on 3 wheels when off road.

The Jeep Wrangler is better than the Bronco in that it still has a solid front axle . It is a tough proven design , I own a 1998 Jeep Wrangler sport I am the original owner it has a lift kit and I can and did go on many tough trails without any problems. I am not selling it , I will keep it and fix what needs fixing when needed . I just drove it in the mountains yesterday trout fishing great outdoor vehicle especially off road.

if you need more stuff to test on those rollers outside the shop, I'd love to see a breakdown of how manual locking hubs work. I know I could look it up on my own but I'm lazy and like learning stuff whenever a new TFL video pops up.

Not sure why this popped up on my youtube today...but would rather see honda civic vs bronco/wrangler. I really try to keep the car on the road. (mostly successful). When I was a kid in my 20's, I learned 4 wheel drive just gets you stuck much better than rear wheel drive...go back to the farm and get the tractor to pull the 4 wheeler out. Not really fun. (maybe for others though).

Dope. It blows mine and my wife's mind how many people go into debt for a depreciating asset. During the peak of covid I was watching neighbors lose their horses, jet skiis, boats, UTV's and 70k rubicons. Made it real easy to spot people living paycheck to paycheck accruing like they're loaded. Sad.

Imho, you did great. I canceled my order for a Bronco because even though I reserved one the very first day, and Ford did capitulate late in the development to allow a manual trans with the Sasquatch pkg. I just could not justify waiting any longer, especially since I loath IFS and the Wrangler is still true to live axles. You Sir are a fantastic consumer. Great Price. I too like close to base trucks and Jeep with manual trannies and save the Monet for bells and whistles I really would rather spend my money on. All adventure-minded aftermarket upgrades. And Jeep’s are still the most popular vehicle to find quality after market accessories that dealers cant even touch.
