- We take the Memphis MOJO1212 12" subwoofer and compare them against 2 Mojo Pro 12" subwoofers in a ported box. Running a 1500 watt Memphis amp. We measure SPL with a termlab SPL meter to determine the winner!!

Honestly..with the technology these days all you need is one 12..in a good quality box an quality amp especially in a suv...I been running 1 12inch sub for years people always think it's 2 subs😁

I agree...but after a few weeks when you get used to it I always seem to want more bass...que the second driver...another month and it's new more powerful subs...cant seem to stay satisfied. Now it's larger subs. Next it will probably be a huge 6th order bandpass... I have issues
My suv has a single 15 it’s not nearly as loud as 2 12s in my hatchback.

TRUE! The box we used were not to exact specs because there is no way we were able to put a 5 cubic foot box without building it into the truck... so for most people that's not a viable option so we decided to use what most people would do. We actually did a video on the mojo pros in a custom box built to the exact specs and it did 143 db in a chevy trail blazer!! (which is a completely different application) But yeah you are correct they would do better in a custom box if it was made to exact specs.
At best it would match, But I doubt it. You will experience more rise with the dual box (Typically), They are naturally higher resistance D4 vs D1 and motorforce along with xmax. .Better box will yield better results but I think 99/100 times the double rated single will beat dual half rated.

I have 2 of the OG MOJO 1212 in my car as you watch this video. It hits hard as fu@k with the right amp. You can't under power them. They will perform with a power amp. Trust.

Is it okay/safe to overpower them like giving 1 12" MOJO 2000 watts vs. Giving 1 sub 1500 watts RMS?

From personal experience, no matter the brand, its always sounded deeper and just better in my cars with one badass subwoofer vs 2 mid grade subwoofers. Like with sundown for example, 2 sa-12 vs one zv5 12, the single 12 is just so much nicer. But thats just my ears
love the interesting content and a very realistic comparison, honestly. Quick and to the point! I'm completely torn with what to use in my Jeep Wrangler from the garage shelf: (1) 10W7AE, (1) Rockford 12" P3, (2) Custom DD Audio 2508s, (3) DD 608s or lastly (2) 12" Kicker Q-Class L7s. Amp options: DD M3C, M1D and a Skar RP2000.1....so I'm stuck building boxes for the next 3 months as I can get the extra funds lol. Subscribed.
Ive seen people hit 140+ DB with one Mojo Pro, maybe if you guys learned how to build custom boxes, then youd have some good "accurate" tests. I guarantee if you built a true to-spec box for each, the 2 MJP's would stomp that single OG.
I got 2 Mojo 15's. I wanna comment before i watch this. I am pulling for the single Mojo because i had a single Mojo for a couple of months and it was loud to say the least.

I just ordered two sets of the six and a half in the factory box yesterday and I looked on RUclips and the RMS on the six and a half is 350 Max or they burn up has anybody put them to that test within your company

Single Memphis MOJO1212 12" subwoofer is a better speaker and it's practical. Have you done a comparison of the JL Audio 12W7AE-3 subwoofer versus any of the top dogs out there? I haven't seen one yet. Would greatly appreciate it if you could do a JL Audio 12W7AE-3 subwoofer competing. BTW, great content Breakers Stereo & Performance.
...the JL w7 is a great subwoofer. And it's probably one of the speakers that started off companies making super woofers, but in this day in age, there are a lot of woofers out here that will outperform a JL w7. I still give the JL audio w7 props for sound quality, and if you are looking for pure sound quality, then JL audio is a great option for subs and amps. But if you are looking to get loud, and low, or louder & punchy, their are other options out there, and cheaper. The vehicle is one thing, and the set up in that vehicle is the other main thing. If you got the right setup, in the right vehicle, the equipment will only make up a small percentage of the outcome of that system.
@@johndough4338 I agree, I have a 2018 Camaro with a single 12" Sundown Audio 4-ohm DVC X-12 V.2 D4 1500 RMS with a audio control LC-1.1500 amplifier in a custom 2.5 cu. ft. ported box. I also tried out a JL audio Stealthbox 12" W6v3 powered by JL Audio XD600/1v2 amplifier. I ended up switching and going with the JL Audio 12" setup. The 600RMS JL Audio 12" setup outperformed a 12" 1500RMS Sundown Audio. I couldn't believe it. N yes, JL Audio is pricey, but definitely worth it.
I've never gone single sub build but I have seen single subs that are rediculous.

Viv14 isn't a sub for SPL. It's purpose is to have as flat of a response as possible. The Viv line is primarily SQ

True. We should have used another car where we could’ve put a larger box that would have fit the specs for those woofers. We did a video on those exact woofers in a custom box in the trailblazer and it did over 140 Db. We didn’t think this video through before we actually cut it. But we all sat down at the table and vowed to be more detailed when it comes to comparing products against each other or just reviews in general. Thanks for your comment
Up your Amp to run 1200rms and your box to 3.5 cubic in per ft. You will run them 2 12,s harder than ever.
I would definitely go with two subs cause I'm sure I could push abit more power through them if they are quality subs hense more output and power... I think 🤔

Yeah that is a great sub. Hit hard but still very musical. Two of my teenagers have that sub in their cars… and with a custom box it sounds really good!!

Not an accurate test and comparison there are so many more variables that weren't stated or accounted. If you're going to do these vids stop misleading people.
We didn’t mention box size and specs true. We’ll try to cover more in feature videos. What else would you have mentioned ?
@@BreakersStereo Port tune frequency, port diameter, impedance rize at said frequency, true wattage at frequency and fs of the driver's. Try to make all things equal. Unfortunately no driver is equal to another and each one may perform better in some frequency's than another along with box volume and tuning to optimize each drivers performance. Then and only will you achieve an accurate comparison after all it's the driver's ability that is in question. If you really want to get picky do the test in an anechoic chamber but that's easier said than done😂. Sound has been my passion for 25 plus years and I really enjoy the educational videos like yours because we need more people into this field but there's to much misleading info floating around and that serves no one any good. On that note keed up the videos. I hope my rant wasn't too windy😎

Two 12s always sound better.
I like watching your content but something isn't adding up here. If both setups were built to spec, the cone area should have one this. Same power but twice the cone area always wins out. Now, maybe if you had a single 2500 rms subwoofer, I might believe this. Regardless both memphis subs are good products.
Yeah the box was under for the dual 12. That’s why. I overlooked that…. We rushed this video and missed a few things. This video is relevant if you have a compact to mid size car that you can’t put a 5 cubic foot box in.
