      Thanks! Trying to get them involved. It’s a struggle though with all the distractions kids have these days.

    Your analytical deduction makes perfect sense amigo. I particularly like how you used a method of elimination rather than a "shotgun" approach to replace parts left and right. Great value to your video and good to see a dad passing that knowledge to your son. I do the same on weekends.

    Did you check the oil cooler during this experience? Those are known to leak and cause similar behavior

      Thanks for that. It ended up being a bad valve.

    A Volvo is definitely worth a head gasket job if not an entirely new engine. At least you have a car worth fixing.

      Yeah we ended up finding a mechanic to buy it. Was going to fix it up and give it to his sister. Turned out to be badly burnt valves. All fixed and living on I believe 👍😊

    Did the Head Gascket Sealer Fix Work?

    • @bbtrevival
      @bbtrevival  Год назад

      I can’t say definitively but I think it helped us with the coolant loss, so in that sense yes but it turned out there were other problems as well. Zero compression was a bent valve.

    Please help - I hooked a scanner up to my 2004 xc90. Cleared the codes so the dash was clear of check engine. A day later the car runs really rough and the idle rough and low.
    I fear I spazzed the computer?
    Or just coincidence?

    • @bbtrevival

      What were the codes before you cleared them?

    Is that a Common Problem for the T5 Motor?

    • @bbtrevival
      @bbtrevival  Год назад

      I have had head issues it the 5cyl on another car as well but it was different problems. That one had head gasket go twice. This one I suspect was head gasket and a bent valve. I feel they aren’t the strongest engines.

    • @MB1Billion
      @MB1Billion Год назад +1

      @bbtrevival You might be Right. Those Engines might have that Flaw but some people say it's the best Engine (Option) between the inline 6 cylinder and the V8.

      @@MB1Billion yeah also I have always got them after they have already lived a full and possibly neglected life. I’m sure that better maintenance gives them better results.

    This is why there are so many 5 cylinder xc90s in the junkyard. Biggest POS Volvo ever had. They should be ashamed. Not what I would expect from Volvo.

      Yeah, unfortunately this is the 2nd Volvo 5 cyl I have had, same issue in both. Boo

      Thanks Mate! not that bad yet so may squeeze some more life out of it with a head gasket fix. You ever used those? Any luck? I hear it is a bit of a crap shoot as to whether it will work or not.

      @@bbtrevival hey Ben... I've never used it because I don't see a foundation in this product... because the head gasket when it burns, it burns between the head and the block where it's iron, and there's supposedly no way for this product to get in there... but certainly this product will plug the cooling holes and then make the car heat up even more.

      @@jobersonlopes1 just did a compression test. Cylinder 3 is toast. 0 psi. Will have to decide what to do with it next.
