      Recorded voice is your natural voice. What you hear with your ears only you can hear and is not your actual voice.

    • @alicekelly1569
      @alicekelly1569 6 лет назад +196

      That’s because when you hear your own voice it’s been resonating through your bones. It will always sound deeper to you. The voice on a recording is how other people actually hear you.

    sing or even síng

    I just wonder how to make your voice remain as deep during the day as it is during morning after you have awoken?

    • @LedgerLines
      @LedgerLines 11 лет назад +90

      That actually would be dangerous if it were possible. Operating your vocal cords at lower than normal ranges for too long will cause you to lose your voice or damage your throat (this happened to John F. Kennedy a lot).
      When you wake up it's lower because your vocal cords are fully relaxed. And they're relaxed only because you haven't used your voice for 8 full hours. The more you use them the higher you're voice will go during the day.

    • @evelyng.2923
      @evelyng.2923 11 лет назад +34

      LedgerLines If you watched her video, she clearly says that it's not the tone of your voice she's referring to when she says deep. She gives you tips so you can relax your voice. These tips help you speak in you "true voice" as she says.

    • @d0nj03
      @d0nj03 10 лет назад +6

      You keep doing it every morning for a long time until you're satisfied with the persistence of the results. Check out Elliott Hulse's videos from 2011 or earlier and compare his voice to the 2013+ sound. It's unbelievable. And he too used an exercise based on vibrating the diaphragm, only he does it by bouncing on his heels. :)
      I went with the above method of hammering the central lower edge of my ribcage while going "AWWWWWWW" and I've heard very good results in how I sound in conversations during the first half of the day.

    • @d0nj03
      @d0nj03 10 лет назад +5

      I tend to revert to my unimproved voice, it feels like I have to strain more and more to keep talking in my morning voice. But I haven't been exercising it long enough and I haven't been consistent enough. Even so I can already feel there's some permanent improvement in how I sound, I just have to keep at it.

      Maybe practice in the shower, or maybe no more than 3-5 minutes a day. If they bitch at you, maybe suggest they give it a shot. If I had to guess, they're judgmental because they're insecure. A richer voice couldn't hurt.

    The humming trick instantly gave my voice a deeper tone. It's great to train yourself to speak from the diaphragm which automatically lowers tone. I practice in front of a mirror in order to avoid contorting my in weird shapes to prevent the habit of looking like a maniac during a conversation.

    I love when women sing lower (I LOVE Lana Del Reys cover of that Sleeping Beauty song). I'm sure there are many women who could sing very well if they sang where it was more comfortable for them, but it seems like a lot of the time we're steered to sing higher for whatever reason. When I was in middle school, my school would get together with other schools and throw a little program of a few songs to sing, and they would automatically place me with the sopranos. I. Am. No. Soprano. I feel like if they stuck me in the altos, I would've gotten more out of the experience and maybe appreciate my own voice a lot more instead of hating it.

    1. Work on posture. Good posture leads to good breathing which leads to good sound. Relaxed shoulders, grounded knees and feet.
    2. Do gentle voice exercises. Humming is a good way to begin. Singing is a fun way to open voice. Use hands and face to further sound. Acting classes are another option.

I'm only 5'4 and 110 pounds,and when people see me they cant believe that such a big voice comes out of such a little man. What i want to say is that your type of voice can be a really good thing. Disney will use voices like yours to promote different products or kids shows or movies. Show all them people what you can do with your voice!

    Great tips, I can vouch for them. I wish more "singing teachers" started with speaking properly; most people don't and therefore already have vocal tension going in. That was my biggest problem; it took me 2 years of rigorous classical training to alleviate my jaw and shoulder tension while singing because I wasn't speaking properly.

    That depends. If you're born with an unattractive singing voice, there's not much you can do about that.
    But if you do have a voice that people like to listen to, but lack certain techniques to make the most of that voice, then you can definitely improve it a lot.
    Anyway, I think these breathing exercises you learn are good for your health in general, not just for singing.
    So they'd probably benefit most people. regardless if they want to sing or not.

    I sing every day when I’m driving to school and felt a bit of a strain in my throat after a while but overall I was fine. Recently I joined a choir and I’m learning proper singing techniques. The problem is, my throat now feels dry even though I’m constantly drinking warm water, my larynx feels scratchy and painful, and my lungs/ chest feels congested but I have no fever or phlegm. What is happening? It’s becoming too painful for me to sing and now speak.

    I would like to add do neck rolls it relaxes your neck muscles. a stiff neck causes a major restriction in your vocal range and its very important to do breathing exercise this will create control over your diaphragm wich is where the notes are created. lots of air in the chest will make your voice sound deeper and your note come easy. I am a self taught singer but sing on a pro level without effort . also try to keep your atoms apple from moving it can only destroy your note .

    A tip I have is to not talk as often. You have a deep voice when you first wake up because you didn't use them for about 8 hours. They're relaxed. So, the less you talk throughout the day, the deeper your voice can get. What I mean by this is to not talk when it's unnecessary. Only talk if you _need_ to talk.

      It's not the average. I don't know what it's called in English but in German it is called "Kontraalt", which is a rare type. Or you are maybe - just as I am - an alto who can go very deep but also very high? Anyway - it is not abnormal^^
