Speaking of dark humor...my hubby (the burn survivor) dressed as a bucket of fried chicken for Halloween. Extra crispy of course. Everyone laughed and cried and it was good, but yeah, we understand the burn survivor humor! Lol!

I don't understand why burn victims receive any sort of hate. Burn is the worst kind of pain the human body can take, image having that on a large surface of your body, it's unbearable. Burn survivors deserve so much respect for being able to endure that extreme level of pain if nothing else
I know. I cannot answer that, but I did volunteer with a burn survivor (over most of his body easily) years ago, and he confided in me a lot. He told me the worst was children who didn't know better. He said moms would usually shush them but usually it was little kids who would point and ask questions without any censorship whatsoever of course. He didn't like the way that further went on to draw attention toward him from other adults nearby, and so forth. But if there was any straight up "hate" from anyone, he said people would just often try to avoid him (avoid looking at him, touching him, being in the line at the grocery store next to him, etc.). So the hate was actually more like "fear". He said they thought they were being subtle about it, but he observed it more or less everywhere we went. I took him to the store a few times and didn't notice anything too off, but in all honesty, it was a long time ago. The sad thing was how he refused to take the bus or go anywhere in public because of this, poor man. (I hope he is doing okay.)
@@socialglitch-official7561 aw well kids can’t help it. They don’t normally see that, shit none of us do. I know the sight of burn victims is fearful to most. No one wants to think about how one got there or how painful it would be if they had to endure it themselves. As far as kids go, they really mean no harm. They’re just curious beings.

You’re an inspiration. I’m 36 and you taught me a lot. I have four kids. My oldest is 18 but she doesn’t live with me anymore. My other children are 13,5 and 3. Learning from you, I discussed your situation with them and asked what they would do and told them what you did and how they should do the same. Especially not yelling because you didn’t want to hurt your lungs. And covering your face. Beauty is only skin deep. The way you handled this is exceptional. And you are beautiful. I have been wondering about your friend though. You said he ran around engulfed in flames. Did he make it? I feel ignorant asking this question but I truly am just worried out what happened to him also.

her friend did make it :) took some digging to find his last name so I could find out if he's okay. His name is James Boyle and if u search on google James Boyle burn then there should be pics that come up. I think theres also some articles you could read through to find maybe how he's doing idk.

Ok but I just want to add to what you said to the question "will you look the same one day as before the accident" and you said no you will never and said that is sad.. but as people, accident or not, we never in a way "look" the same, we age and grow and our bodies change, our hair can change. How you looked then would still be different to you 5 years from now even if the accident didn't happen. Obviously the accident has made how you look to be more different, but in a way you would have "looked different" as you grew up as well. Maybe now is not the ideal different you hoped for, but you're still beautiful all the same. I hope this doesn't come across as rude or anything, I only say this to try and give a different perspective on looking different after and hope it gives you some hope and heals some sadness.

A stroke took the use of the right side of my body years ago and I see a lot of the same drive and determination I have, in you. My husband and I got married last year. He was a survivor of a horrible accident when he was 19 with major damages to his entire face and went through many reconstructive surgeries. He’s the most amazing person and I love him so much. Those things just never bothered me because I cared about who he was on the inside. You will live a wonderful life and people will love you for you. I truly wish you the best in life!

You're gorgeous, Natalie ♥ I love your sense of humour about people asking what your scars feel like. Burn scars really are amazingly soft! My mom's cousins (much older because my grandparents had lots of siblings) was a burn survivor. He was working in a sawmill in the 70s and when the place caught fire he went further into the building and opened a door to help others out, so he ended up losing most of his fingers. Every bit of skin exposed in everyday casual clothing on him looked like your forearms so I'm not sure what percentage was burned but obviously quite a lot. It always broke my heart on his behalf to see more distantly related kids at family reunions who weren't used to him not being willing to go give that sweet man a hug! He didn't have ears or much of his nose left, so I get it, that's startling to little kids, but Aubrey was such a kind man and he just wanted to dote on all the kids. His daughters were lucky to have him.

What I love about you is that you didn't let the fire burn away your personality. It may have taken a few of your features, but overall you are still a GODDESS with how sweet you are and funny, you are such a sweet girl. I’m in a place in life right now where I relate to EVERYTHING you spoke of about not appreciating what you had until it’s taken away. I’m dealing with a facial disfigurement and it’s so hard to look at my old photos and I was so unappreciative of how I looked. It’s not all about looks but it’s hard to look in the mirror and not see yourself and feel like your identity was stripped away. I hope and pray that I’ll adjust to my new normal and feel confident and beautiful again one day. Currently dealing with depression, anxiety and PTSD and videos such as this DO help. So, thank you 💗

Hi Natalie. I am a burn survivor, and was burnt in 2009. My wife was told to come and say goodbye as I had a little chance of survival. Well as you can see I did survive, and to my astonishment I now show very little scaring. Please do what ever you are told by the doctor's, and I hope you have a speedy recovery. Your a beautiful person inside and out Natalie........take time to recover and love yourself first and enjoy your own company. When the time is right you will meet a man who will take the time to get to know the person you are and see the beauty within and give you the help and support you need.
