    I just hit these yesterday and to me they felt great, softer than previous MG wedges with nice muted sound and a generous amount of spin. They look clean as well.

    I just hit these wedges rep had at my local store
    They feel fantastic off the face soft feel even with range balls
    Have a great workability can hit high or low penetrating flights with them
    I hit the 54 mainly if anyone’s looking for new wedges this for sure should be on top of your list
    My opinion they are as good as vokey if not better

      Same. I’d get a not rust version for my gap wedge so it would look more similar to my irons on full shots. Then I’d get the rusted version for my sand and lob wedges for the extra spin around the green.

    Any reason why he’s pitching and chipping to the fringe and not onto the green that’s not that much farther left? Seems kind of odd. Why don’t they show the spin when it actually hits the green?

    • @ohwowthatsgood
      @ohwowthatsgood 3 года назад +5

      because it's marketing smoke, and a new wedge doesn't have any more spin than an old one.

    • @pinger530
      @pinger530 3 года назад +1

      @@ohwowthatsgood Yes, I understand its all marketing smoke and BS, but it’s still stupid to do a wedge video and not demonstrate hitting shots onto the green, which is immediately next to the fringe he was hitting into. Doesn’t matter if there isn’t more spin than last year or the year before. For Taylormade, this was a really poorly done “demonstration” or unveiling. Either just talk about the wedge and not hit any shots with it, or talk about it and hit shots onto a green. Lame video. It would be like unveiling the new Ford Raptor and then demonstrating how good the new tech is by driving on the street. Marketing BS or not, my comment was in regards to the demo.

    • @Joel9046
      @Joel9046 3 года назад

      @@pinger530 that’s an inaccurate statement. A wedges performance starts to decline drastically every two years, for the average golfer. For us that play multiple rounds per week and practice in between you should at minimum get new wedges every season.

    • @pinger530
      @pinger530 3 года назад

      @@Joel9046 I totally agree with you that wedges lose their spin and bite over time. My comment is in regards to the demo methodology. Why show off a wedge and the spin it generates by hitting it into the rough? Especially when there is a green a few feet away? Is he trying to show how well the ball stops in the rough? Here’s another analogy, what would you think if he was trying to demonstrate how amazing the wedge is out of the bunker and proceed to show you how it hits off a tee on a tee box? That would seem kind of odd, right?! That’s my point. Not that new wedges have more spin than old ones. We all know that and he’s obviously talking about spin between prior seasons new wedges and the current new wedge. So my statement is valid as I’m not comparing old used wedges versus new wedges. My comment is only aimed at the demo, not the equipment. Does that make sense?

      I don't think so. Nearly everyone I know that doesn't have Titleist clubs or sponsorship uses MG2 wedges!
      The MG2 and the SM8 are all I see any more, except for people who are using the wedges included in an iron set. There are very few instances where I have seen a different wedge. I also see at least double the MG2s as I do the SM8s.

    • @sebastianheine378

      @@charlieodom9107 ping wedges are incredibly popular along with Cleveland. Callaway is also in the conversation. Taylormade wedges don’t tend to get the recognition for their quality the way they do for driver and even irons now.

      @charlieodom9107 3 года назад

      @@sebastianheine378 Taylormade sells assloads of wedges and doesn't spend money trying to sell their wedges in advertisements because they don't need to. Maybe, you just like seeing gimmicky ads like flexseal and expect Taylormade to do the same.
      Side note...you don't see Vokey advertising their wedges either, but they are probably number one among the pros, followed by the MG/HT series of wedges.

    • @sebastianheine378
      @sebastianheine378 3 года назад

      @@charlieodom9107 yes absolutely, Vokey wedges are the undisputed best selling wedge and most played on tour. Next best selling according to my golf spy is Cleveland and callaway. So TM has some work to do to gain market share in this area

    • @charlieodom9107
      @charlieodom9107 3 года назад

      @@sebastianheine378 no, they do not. They sell a ton of these wedges, and don't need advertising to sell more. Tour players play what their damn sponsors tell them to play, and whoever offers the most money. Take a look at some balance sheets for different companies and you'll see who has to advertise the Hell out of their products to get people to buy them and who doesn't. That is the point here. MG wedges sell just fine, and need no help.

      I tried to tell them to buy T300 or some forgiving cavity back, get a cheaper putter, and spend some money a good hybrid or two, but they insisted that the blades were better and would reduce their score.
