Tom, It's a giant boda bag🤪😜😂🤣🥂. I use a 12 volt transfer pump from harbor freight to transfer our water over.
I also have another marked sewage. I use a macerator pump for our black tank. Works great for boondocking. Gets me away from hooking up the hole RV to go to the dump site or using the blue bunker that comes off and then gets a hole in it. The nice thing is they store in a small space and space is a premium commodity as you know.
We use a product called the IVY bag. 100gallon. Has two ports. Both fill ports are 1.5". So they can accomendate the bigger fill tubes (sewage). Cost is $169. On line.

I have a water bladder as well and I bought an extra 12-volt rv water pump and plumbed it so that I cam pump it into my trailer from the bed. I wired the power ends to a 4-pin trailer plug so I can just plug it into the truck to power it. It also serves as a back up pump in the event my main pump stops working,

I'm interested in using one of these bladders. I have questions:
If you don't vent the bladder while pumping off, it should collapse by atmospheric pressure and not introduce airborne contamination?
If you only carry potable water especially tested municipal sourced water, would constant farting around sanitizing and draining be necessary?
    Thanks

  • @loa81
    @loa81 3 года назад

    Hi ya’ll!
New subscribers here. Caught you for first time yesterday on a “you may like” pop up.
Full timing, but stationary just now.
The USAF probably other branches as well use huge bladders for fuel and such. Especially at temporary forward operations bases. They could fly them in already filled and transfer from a fuel truck too, The first ones I saw were HUGE! Probably thousands of gallons.
I noticed the first public application was for the INTEX round pools. Very, very tough. We never had a puncture or leak and teen boys to young men used it for about ten years. Gave it away since it had paid for itself many times over. We now have a small one.
Why not use a ramp to winch your blue buddy inside the bed? No worries about unhitching. A 12v winch might come in handy for many things. A small inflatable kiddie pool could be used for restricting spills.
Even though those things are very rugged, I’d consider some type of protection between the 5th wheel hook up side. Swim noodles flat against it and add more as he water rises.
I’d be suspicious using any water that is near a dump receiver storage. It’s too easily fouled by accidental waste spills. Spills then leach into the waterlines and storage. There’s about 30’ between our potable water and the dump.
I really, really did not enjoy your stay in Destin! I loved my visits with the lovely beaches. So sad to see folks corrupted by a little power.🙁 it’s so cool we have the internet to help us blow off frustration and have good support. We had a similar experience at a park, too. The stress was really messing with my blood pressure. The sites and community buildings seemed to be bugged for audio and they had cameras everywhere! Left there quickly after private conversation was related back from the owners!
Good, safe travels for you all.
    Regards...

We use a water bladder also. Because our system is gravity feed I had to buy a 12 volt pump from Harbor Freight to transfer the water. Also, bungee cord that blue tote to the hitch or it will come lose every time. One day you will have a massive nasty spill if you're not careful!

Great that you have the ability to get water into you tank, BUT you still will have to get rid of it when you use the water. You won't be able to drain it no sewer hookup or going to the common dump site or using the "honey wagon". In addition, the boonfocking weakness is not only water, but dumping and getting rid of water and waste, power and food.

In my experience, the water at dump stations is not potable

Quick question, I haven't watched every single one of your videos so the answer may be there. I was wondering why you travel with 2 vehicles?
My wife and I have a bus conversion and we have been going back and forth on driving a 2nd vehicle as opposed to leaving it at home.

They used the second vehicle for lots of independent stops/business. Once set up, ez to go without the house. Especially nice for scouting to make sure the situation fits the desire, whatever that may be. Example: boondocking where there aren't "spaces" marked.

I can’t believe that you used the poop hose flush to fill your fresh water tank and bladder. That is definitely disgusting.

Haha, no! It's potable water....don't know why they put that fitting on there.

@@EnjoyTheJourneyLife that ball is so the water doesn’t splash back onto you when you rinse out the sewer hose and the bent tip is so that you can rotate the sewer hose/ water hose and wash the insides of the sewer hose. If there is potable water it will not be next to the dump station so that to avoid contamination of your fresh water tank with sewage

Most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen. The end of that thing (or one just like it) has been 4” inside of my poop hose rinsing it. There is no amount of bleach that can make that hose safe. #rvbiohazard

That may be potable water but it is used to flush the sewer hose with. Never fill the water tank with the hoses next to the dump station. Even if they have a separate hose for potable water fill, people will still grab it for washing down while dumping.

Too much water storage. Water becomes unhealthy with ambient heat. Also consider weight for traveling. Costs $$$$
