Lord Have Mercy! Bless you two on this endeavor! We have been Boondocking for 40 years and have tried and seen it all. OMG we watched a Poo bladder blow at Morro Bay State Beach Campgrounds dump station. Had the handle welded seam pop and the poo pulp water shot out at high pressure everywhere. 10-15’ Macerated pulp is horrible, hoses full of poo smell. Unfortunately they are made for fresh water not contaminated fecal matter. I would only state for anyone doing this to be prepared
Reminds me of a ‘blivet’ that my grandpa used to tell me they dropped out of planes in WWII 😂basically 20 lbs of s#!t in a 10 lb sack 😂 you’re a braver man than me!
Great Video. Not sure about trying it. Seems like a feces fountain waiting to happen. I think I will let this marinate with time. Please do a follow-up video in 6 months or so and let us know if your are still as enthusiastic. You are a brave soul. Wish you well. Great channel.
Yes the tote tank is a PITA and there's always a chance it might leak at a aeam or valve but it would be miniscule compared to the bladder. I wouldn't want to be near you at the dump station. Imagine a seam opening, even a small hole...there would be no stopping it. I use a bladder for fresh water but no way am I doing black or even gray (it stinks too). YOU ARE EXTREMELY BRAVE.
It would be great for water if that’s more comfortable. They have much smaller ones as well. It’s way more thick and strong than the water bladder that most of us use.
Awesome idea. Amazing the amount of people that are worried about their own 💩. Just walking into a public area or bathroom you are bombarded by alot more that's gonna make you sick even with hand washing.
lol I know. People fear the worst case scenario. I get that. But if we all worry about the “what ifs” we would never even Rv at all. This tote is way better made than people can see from this video. Way higher grade than any water bladder I’ve seen. To each is own, I guess.
That must be a lost art...being able to tell when stuff is starting to go bad. Unfortunately I don't have that gift, with my bad sense of smell I've had many spit it out moments 😂. Great info on the bladder! I may have to convert to that for sure! Thanks for the tip!
That is just about the same set up I use with the macerator! I HAVE A 100 waste bladder. If you change the ends on your macerator and fresh water pump to SAE connectors you can tap off you RV battery and run a wire off your truck battery to the bed (or even adapt a 7 pin connector) and you not need the extra battery
Thanks. We have thought about that as well but we have separate batteries for Barry trolling motor for his inflatable boat. I think we’ll eventually do that. Thanks a bunch
@@liketheresnotomorrow I forgot Barry is a fisher! no need to retrofit for him he needs that battery. I get lazy with the pumps macerator and air compressor so it makes sense for me.
Me and a buddy were discussing this the other day, I'll share it with him. I think I'd use a valtera glue on gate valve rather than a ball valve for the outlet. Also, I made a rack behind the rear axle out of angle aluminum for my poop tote to ride in under my valor. Thanks for sharing!
Ever seen the movie "RV". That's an accident WAITING to happen 😅 You are very brave. 1000 pounds of raw sewage 😢 we love our Rhino. We have a Motorhome
You are doing it right. Do yourself a big favor, get a tarp that can completely cover your whole truck bed including the sides. Make sure the sides of the tarp are well secured to the top of the sides. Close the tailgate. What you are doing is protecting yourself should the blatter break. Also get a second one for fresh water. Place the second one on top of the first blatter. Fill the grey and black tanks into the black blatter. Go dump the black blatter. Now while you are out, filll the fresh water in the top fresh water blatter. The rest is easy. Don
I hope you don’t mind if I ask a question… do you fulltime with a compost toilet? Are there more than one person using? How often do you have to dump liquids/solids. I’m only a little familiar but we don’t boondock all year. So we didn’t think it would be worth it. Thoughts?
Great video, and thank you for this innovative alternative solution. As you fill the bladder from a sealed hose attachment, how is the air displaced within the bladded? The Camco tote uses a secondary air cap.
Thanks for the great idea. I too have been struggling with where and how to manage the old turd Toter. I did want to ask how you go about cleaning out the bag after dumping. I assume it’s not hard, but just curious if there was any concerns regarding getting all the “stuff” out to avoid any smells or growth between uses. Appreciate your insight and experience on this.
Pretty much the same as the camco hard tote. You never really get everything out. Just flush and dump until you feel it’s flat. Tighten cap. lol this is why you need to put it in a bin. For the water bladder we do a little bleach flush every now and again.
Local mailing store, ups or fed ex stores or locations, campgrounds if we know we’ll be there on a certain date. They will usually hold it for us. General delivery at some post offices but you have to call and ask them. Some do and some don’t.
All I can think about while I watch this video is... "This is gross... Thanks" :) You did a good job showing the solution, and talking around the less desirable concepts. I just can't help but think about the macerator pump pumping pulpy poop into a poop bladder. A VEVOR chinesium poop bladder. This is the most entertaining video I will watch tonight by far. and... we got a new tongue twister out of the deal... "pumps pumping pulpy poop" :)
Ya, I thought about this for a very short time and determined it would be difficult to clean the solids out of it and therefore would be a bad idea. after a short time it would retain the solids and the stench would be really bad. Let me know if I am wrong!
Our fresh is 100gallons. Up until now we have used a water bladder that holds about 60 and just bought another one like the black one in this video that holds 75. We have a video on it ruclips.net/video/b_jtAKlYxT4/видео.htmlsi=eLvcyHV1HR60USEJ
Yea, we should have shown that. We vented at the top hose. We’ll be doing a follow up after we try the 3” Rv sewer attachment. We also got one for the fresh tank. Coming soon…
Have you considered a compost toilet for boondocking? I've been full timing for 7 years and boondock 100% of the time. I have an Airhead compost toilet and I change the "solids" media (coco coir) about once a month. Simply invert the tank into a garbage bag and legally take it to the dump. Pee tank is two gallons and it is discreetly dumped in the desert when needed maybe once a week. This would not work so well though if you spend a lot of time at RV parks, as you would have to dump the pee tank often.
@@liketheresnotomorrow I guess it would depend on if that 6 months is all at once. And, how much of a limiting factor emptying the black tank is compared to batteries, fresh water, etc. I built my own cargo trailer to RV conversion and have a ton of solar and batteries. On demand propane water heater. There is a 100 gallon fresh water tank in the bed of the Ram that connects with a short hose to a water inlet in the V nose of the trailer. Full sized 120 volt home fridge with ice maker. Combined with the compost toilet, I can go up to a month without needing to resupply. I usually only do two weeks in one spot though, and have an abundance of water for long hot showers.

Never thought of that. Good point
It’s a good point but almost anything can bust. Plastic, valves, seams, hoses. Ya just gotta decide for yourself.
Yep and I'm going for it. Great idea. It will be fine

Will do. It was recommended by a viewer that has been using it for some time but we’ll report back. 😜

Great to see you, Darlene, and your new husband Barry.2 😂. It looks like you could do with a wonderful massage and chiropractor appointment ❤😊
Great idea!! Book it! lol
You guys put out great content. This is so helpful. Fantastic. Thankyou
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching❤️
We are heading to Quartzsite ...so thanks for the black tank idea.

6 more months to our launch day and we will come find you guys you tow are hilarious! Keep darlene of the porch at night!
Ya dang right, light. Lots of light. lol
Great video and info. Thanks.
Thanks for watching. We appreciate it.
We boondock a lot which is one of the many reasons we replaced our RV toilet with a composting toilet in our last 3-RV's.
Great idea. I think if we did it all year we’d consider it. Would have to do two toilets though. Maybe someday😜

I’ve seen people make room for the totes under. Very cool

❤️
They should make a bladder tank specifically for this use... Maybe have the 3" RV fitting built into the tank with a slide valve... 👀
That would be really convenient. Let us know if you’d find one.

Tarp is a great idea. Thanks Don👍👍👍
I'll take my composting toilet any day

Great info on that bladder. I was hoping for a better solution than using one of those totes
So far, we are loving it. We ordered a new one for our fresh e
Water refill tool just gonna have to REALLY label them😜❤️
@@liketheresnotomorrow yeah you wouldn't want to get those mixed up!
Great video, and thank you for this innovative alternative solution. As you fill the bladder from a sealed hose attachment, how is the air displaced within the bladded? The Camco tote uses a secondary air cap.
We just slightly opened the top value. A tiny bit, just to vent it.
Are you considering doing a follow up video after Barry does the larger hose connectors
Yes. We sure will
Thanks for the great idea. I too have been struggling with where and how to manage the old turd Toter.

How do you guys the things delivered while traveling?

Hopefully they have different color bladders so you don't get the waste water and fresh water mixed up lol!!
lol. I thought the same thing. Gonna have to put some tape or stickers all over it with labels. Just in case😜

We will. I don’t feel it will be any worse than the camco tank… but we shall see.
Great product for dumping but have a question how big is your fresh water tank & how do you refill that tank when Boondocking 👍

Thank you for the information 👍😁
You sound like my husband he eats leftovers so I cook extra for leftovers.
Yep, I try to always make extra too.
What if you used the maserator pump for a draining method? Let me know if this is an option
We’ve never used it that way, so not sure
Howdy y'all. When you are filling this thing, do you have to vent it or anything to displace any air that is in there? Dats alatta crap. Bahahaha
Yea, we should have shown that. We vented at the top hose. We’ll be doing a follow up after we try the 3” Rv sewer attachment. We also got one for the fresh tank. Coming soon…
I hope it doesn't spring a leak that would make it a hell of a mess
So would a regular tote, or your sewer hose, or many things. We’ll report back in a couple of months and share our thoughts.
