Thanks for info about HomeKit cameras. Is it possible to use those cameras with HomeKit and save videos in apple cloud and not pay for subscription in the tapo app?
Finally more HomeKit Secure Video cameras!!! I always find it super cool how you mount your cameras. Could you explain where the power cord is running with the way you mounted the TC73 on the wall? I am looking to mount several cameras indoors and would like to use the same method you do. I’m very curious how it’s powered and how you are hiding the cables. Thank you!
Finally indeed!! My laundry closet is on the other side of that wall & I have an outlet in there. So I drilled a small hole through the wall behind that mount the camera is on. Then I ran the cable down inside the closet & plugged it into that outlet..
Great review. Do you know if the camera privacy mode can be triggered using alexa routines? For example using an alexa a voice command to turnbthis on/ off or triggered by a seoerate sensor such as an occupancy/pir sensor, doir sensor or perhaps schedule ut for time if day.
Can the camera work live while it's in the background and I'm doing something else on my phone? when activated via apple home kit. I currently have a xiaomi Mi 360 Home Security Camera 2K Pro through which I monitor my child while he sleeps. I don't like that I have to be in the app all the time to watch live, so I'm considering buying this Tapo c225 camera. xiaomi is a great camera, but it annoys me that I can't get out of it and monitor the camera's pictures in picture mode. In that case, do you recommend this Tapo c225 or maybe tapo c125 which cannot be moved, but this is certainly not possible if it is used via the Apple Home Kit?
Hi! I bought a few TC73. They all paired to the Tapo app, but in HomeKit I was able to add one camera, but after that each additional camera gave me an “accessory not found” error in Apple home. Any ideas / tips to add more than 1 TC73 to Apple homekit? thx!
Do you find the Tapo C125 to be better quality in both day and night than say a Aqara G3, E1, or G2H Pro? I'm finding the Aqara G2H Pro is the best at night when comparing to the E1 and G3, but the G3 actually performs best in the day. Looking into TP Link to see if it provides a better balance for me.
Great to see more cameras supporting Homekit Secure Video, and these come in at a really nice price-point.
Can’t go wrong as feature-packed they are (on the Tapo side).

Yes it is.

@@GeorgeLangabeer Thank you!
Another great review video! Thank you George!
You know I always appreciate you watching. Thank you!! ❤️
Thanks for the review man, I will get one on Amazon!
You’re welcome & thanks for watching! Awesome!
Can you please share the TC73 camera wall mount that you were using in the video?
Here you go!

I bought both of them. They are absolutely the best.
Nice!
Thinking of getting two C125's one in-house and one in garage
They would be great for those spots.
I definitely want to see Homekit Secure Video handle at least 2K video!
Long overdue!
Great review.

Great video George! I think I like that PTZ camera.
It’s a really nice little camera for the price point.
Can I make an automation when the Animal or vehicle detected or only can make an automation for the motion?
Can the C125 do 1440p (2k) local recording, while the HKSV is doing 1080p? TIA
Yes it can.
Hi George, can I control the Privacy Modus of the Tapo C125 via Apple Homekit or do I need to do this via the Tapo App?
You need to use The Tapo App.

Weird. That didn’t happen for me, so hard to tell what’s going on. I’d give their tech support a call.
What about that privacy button? Can some intruder simply stop the recordings by pressing the button?

I would say the C125 beats those Aqara cameras in performance across the board.
@@GeorgeLangabeer thanks George! Great videos, much appreciated.
@jdemara You’re welcome!
Can you move the camera in HomeKit.
If you mean rotate the pan/tilt camera…no, you can’t.
@@GeorgeLangabeer gotcha👍
These seem very similar to Eufy cameras. Any reason why you didn’t compare them?
Tapo is getting into the Apple Home game & Eufy is getting out. So since this review is Apple Home heavy, why give Eufy the time of day?
I wish Tapo did 4K cameras.
Me too. Not sure why they don’t.
I HATE APPLE !
lol. All CAPS even….
