I added the C125 yesterday, but there seems to be a bug with HomeKit where it shows the video feed on the summary screen in the Apple Home app, but no device is listed under the room view. i.e., Mine is assigned to the Living room, but when looking at that entire room in the Home app, the camera is not a listed device. This leads to my problem...if you don't see the device listed, how could I create automation in HomeKit??? I am trying to create 2 automation, one that activates the camera to record when both my wife and I are not home, and one to disable the recording and streaming when one or both of us arrive home. I would also love to have it active overnight, but I may be dreaming. I have been painstakingly trying to get the Aqara G3 to work like I want it to but it just will not work. I've asked Aqara for help twice with no response so that camera is going back to Amazon. Interested in hearing if you have the same issue in the Home app that I see.
Hello Adam. I want to add this camera but can you please help me out with one important question that I have.if I buy the sd card do I still need a subscription to record motion detect on the camera?
Tapo is really starting to make some interesting products. They're smart video door lock is going to definitely be a head Turner this year. Really looking forward to it!
Tapo would kill the entire market if they made the same camera but made an outdoor version, that still worked with HomeKit,. There is not that much in this price point that can do what this camera can do outside. If someone with a 3D printer wants to be rich, just make a cap that can shield the fixed camera from rain and sell it, so many people would buy.
Dunno, the Aqara E1 seems like a better (or slightly better) product to me. It’s design (for the pan & tilt camera), the Aqara app is definitely better than Tapo’s, and of course it uses USB-C instead of this crappy proprietary thing! Good luck if you would like to put the camera at a place where you’ll need a bigger cord..!!
eufy has the features i need at the price i want. tapo is great, but the extra features aren't worth it to me for the price. maybe it is to you. depends what you're looking for.
Hey great video. But off topic a quick question, will other residents of home will also be able to see the Aqara scenes imported into home app? Assuming they don’t have Aqara app on the device
if you share your apple home with somebody, they'll have access to everything (scenes, remote control, cam recordings, etc). some limitations can be set, but not to scenes.
Is it possible to view the camera live in the background via the apple home kit? or I have to be in the tapo app all the time. For example, I want to see what's happening on the camera and be on Instagram, for example, with the camera running in the background?
Can the camera work live while it's in the background and I'm doing something else on my phone? when activated via apple home kit. I currently have a xiaomi Mi 360 Home Security Camera 2K Pro through which I monitor my child while he sleeps. I don't like that I have to be in the app all the time to watch live, so I'm considering buying this Tapo c225 camera. xiaomi is a great camera, but it annoys me that I can't get out of it and monitor the camera's pictures in picture mode. In that case, do you recommend this Tapo c225 or maybe tapo c125 which cannot be moved, but this is certainly not possible if it is used via the Apple Home Kit?
@@AdamsTechLife Does it look like when I'm in safari and I open a video and when I exit safari the video is still playing in the background? So such a video can be reduced or hidden from the screen, but the sound from the video can still be heard
I have had to change away from TP Link devices as over time they become more unreliable as you add more of their devices. Their app can not handle more than 20 devices. It starts to randomly drop devices. Have you seen this with any of your devices?
Hey Adam, actually there is a v1 of the C225 which I had no idea about. The v1 is not compatible with Apple Homekit at all. There is no QR code to add it and there is no way to add it Home app from Apple. I was very disappointed when I received and installed my camera so I decided to chase for the v2. V2 works exactly as you describe. Not sure if you know about this but could be nice to mention that.
@@AdamsTechLife thanks I did watched the video but I couldn’t be sure as from the specification it appears that c225 only 83 degrees if I am not wrong so I would be interested to see how it goes. Thanks
Dont give misinformation. I bought this camera just because of your video. For your kind information, this camera does not get live stream or live security video record) in apple home (without hub, apple tv, pod, ipad) . when you are away from home wifi, even you wont get live streaming in apple home without hub.. you are giving partial information.
Are you adding a Tapo camera to your smart home?
Quite possibly
i am actually going to return the Tapo camera, it is very blurry when paired with apple home. eufy 2k indoor has way better image quality

Tapo products are great! I'm looking forward to the doorbell/lock as well, gonna be awesome!
Does it show up in HomeKit as motion sensor to trigger automations?
yes
Can we get a loop of you running back-and-forth in front of the camera to Lofi beats please?
haha love it!

That would be amazing. I hear Aqara is about to release an outdoor camera 👀

This is true. there are pros and cons to both, just depends on what features you need and what works best for you :)
Better microUSB or USB-C for individual cable length! But invisible IR is cool
Probably it's a dumb question, but what would you pick between the Tapo C125 and the Eufy Indoor Cam C120?
eufy has the features i need at the price i want. tapo is great, but the extra features aren't worth it to me for the price. maybe it is to you. depends what you're looking for.
How does this compare to aqura e1 as a homekit camera?
more features, better picture quality, better overall experience and value imo.

yes, you can enable picture in picture from the home app when viewing a specific camera.
I have them and they are the best ones available. Too bad that Homekit only supports 1080p.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience :) yeah i wish HomeKit supported a higher quality too

Any recommendation for wireless camera support apple homekit?
any of the eufy 2 lineup (2c, 2c pro, 2 pro) :)

That's interesting to hear. I've only used a few of the tapo devices and haven't experienced that before but thanks for sharing that info.

Hi, how long is the cable in cm?
i'm not sure, just use a conversion table :)
@@AdamsTechLife I'm sorry, if it was a type, I could make an extension. But there is no extension option for a classic adapter. Thank you.
Looks like great cameras!
Thanks for watching! 😊
When the stream and recording is set to off when home in the Apple Home app does it activate the privacy shutter?
i don't have this camera anymore so i can't say for sure but if was guessing i would say yes.
How’s the angle of view for the C225? Is it narrow?

i may have forgot to share that, so that is my bad. that information is also on the box and product page everywhere the camera is sold.
