➡️ Would you like an outdoor camera comparison video? 👀
Yes
Yes please! Really debating on outdoor cams at the moment. Also, any opinions on starling home hub?
Thanks :) and starling hub is great option for getting google devices into HomeKit. I haven’t used it personally but heard it works well.
Yes please!
yea i want outdoors not indoors
Hey Adam your video was right on time everything I needed in one video, price comparison, features, & performance as I’m in the market for my first smart home cameras. Thank you so much!
So happy I could help! Happy camera shopping ;)
What a great roundup! For me, no camera beats the Aqara G3 for an indoor camera. It has so many features at a very affordable price. Keep up the solid work Adam!
The Aqara G3 is a great choice with many features. Thanks for your support Dustin!
Thanks. Watched the whole thing. A great place to start for a HKSV newbie
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching and for your comment!
Great info, thanks!
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching! 😊
New favourite channel excellent video like the bullet points very clear and no waffle
So glad to hear my friend! Happy to hear you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching! 😊
I enjoyed this video. Would love to see you do this with all the HomeKit doorbells.
So glad you found this helpful! I'd be happy to do a doorbell comparison video, the problem is i don't have an electrical wire to my front door to power belkin and logitech so that would require a bit more setup but thank you for the idea. Thanks for watching! 😊
Thank you for sharing this comparison!!! My arlo hub has local storage.
Yes, i later discovered there was local storage capabilities on the arlo hub. Thanks for watching! 😊
Thank you so much! I had an Eve camera and didn’t realize how poor it’s video was in night mode.
So glad I could help! Yeah, i was very surprised myself, too! heard great things about Eve, wish the experience lived up to the hype!
Great video. Still won’t ever have a camera in my house. Assuming you’ll have an Outdoor video coming soon, looking forward to that one. Currently have some Blink products because I was uninformed and they were cheap, but after Amazon shut off a guys smart home for a week I’m done with them. Transitioning to full Apple for the privacy.
Yeah..Blink and RIng are one of the products I used to use but their privacy issues was so bad that it made me ditch them entirely. Apple has very strong privacy standards. Glad you enjoyed the video! An outdoor version may be in the works ;)
Awesome videos sorry I’m so late
Thanks for watching and your continued support! 😊 ❤️
Great video! Did you ever do the one for outdoor ?
Haven't yet, but thanks for suggesting it!
thanks you help me to choice a indoor cam for Staircase I take c24
Glad I could help!! Thanks for watching! 😊
Hi Adam, great reviews, can you give me a recommendation on the fastest one of the bunch in terms of, when I get a notification of motion, how fast until I get from the notification into the app without lag? thanks
Eufy or Aqara are great options. Thanks for watching! 😊
ugh. i like the price of the eufy cameras..
but knowing that they exposed the algorithm to get your camera's stream and the fact that they lied that it does local only recording puts me off..
i might buy one just for like a dog camera
thanks for sharing your thoughts!
The fact that the Eufy camera sounds like that is crazy. It's like a defect.
Could be possible
Great and interesting review.
Questions about the Eufy C24:
1. Does the Eufy C24 has any delay when it starts recording video once it detected motion? ie. Will there be anything missing about the intruder at the very beginning of the video?
2. How long is the video recording take place once it detected motion? ie. How long it will still recording once the detected motion is gone or stopped?
not really, maybe half a second, but this goes with all cameras. 24/7 local storage is great for this. and clip recording is until motion is not detected, 24/7 is continual. (again, goes with all cameras) Thanks for watching! 😊
Good thing about homekit is I am able to block the camera’s native app from accessing the device, but be able to view through homekit
It does vary by brand as not all brands have this feature but yes that is a good feature.
Please do the same for outdoor cameras also
You got it! 👍🏼
Have you had any issues recording video on the homekit secure video for Eufy Pan and Tilt?
Nope, works fine for me and specific detection types like pets are working too. Are you having issues?
@@AdamsTechLife i am. It hasn’t been recording on homekit but it works well on the Eufy app. It is frustrating
I had this exact same issue with the outdoor eufy cams. I’d try restarting the camera and if that dont work then re moving and reading to HomeKit or disabling the recording and re enabling again in the home app
Hello Adam, thanks for the fantastic review, very detailed and focused. 👍
Glad to hear you enjoyed the video and found it helpful. Thanks for watching! 😊
Any reason why Logi circle view is not in the list? I understand it is popular as outdoor camera, but it is used indoors too. I was wondering if there was other reason for not to be included. Thanks.
I originally had planned to mention logitech but pulled it last minute because it can technically be an outdoor camera and the cams in this video are designed for indoor use only, so i wanted to keep the playing field as comparable as possible. if i do an outdoor version of this video, i would include logitech since it can be used outdoors. i have a review of the logitech camera on my channel (compared to the aqara g2h cam) if you wanted to see a review.
have you ever used the indoor cams for outdoor use? some people said the way is really good since indoor cam is quite inexpensive than out door's
I’ve used my Aqara G2 outdoor for a while now. It doesn’t get wet when it rains but sill. 6 months no issues
I haven’t personally, my concern would be keeping the cord dry and away from water
Thats great to hear
Hey! Would you recommend any of these cameras as a “baby monitor”, watching the cot? Personally I wouldn’t mind a cry detection ability, although it would not be a must have, since we already have an audio only monitoring system.
probably the eufy or aqara. i actually use the eufy ptz for my little one's room
@@AdamsTechLife thanks a lot! Those are the ones I’ve got my eyes laid on as well. :) I’ll probably go with the “cat ear” Aqara G3 because of the level of cuteness it has. Although based on your review, I’ve found the picture quality of the former G2H or the eufy one a little bit superior to the G3. I’ll still have something to debate on.. Anyway, thanks! :)
The fing app seems useful but what if they use extra modem/ router or have second ISP. The app wouldn’t be able to pick the device up.
Hello, thanks for your question. I have reached out to Fing and they said "if a user has a second ISP as a fallback, Fing will pick up the devices when that one kicks in. However, if the setup is on two ISPs in parallel, it depends on the available or chosen gateway" Also, feel free to reach out support@fing.com if you have other questions :)
I wish reliability was something you spoke about
They're all quite reliable
My Vocolinc cameras have developed vertical lines that start from one side and keep appearing until like a bamboo forest they obscure the view. Banging the cam can reset it, but it comes back.
Oh no, that’s interesting. Hadn’t heard that before. Maybe try reaching out to VOCOlinc?
@@AdamsTechLife Rather disappointed to find Vocolinc missing from AMZ suggesting another company that retracted or shuttered. With Eufy under a privacy cloud, the solution for me is not repair of my Vocolinc but upgrading to Aqara.
How did you get your eufy indoor solocam c24 to work? About 3 or 4 firmware updates ago, the two of those I have stopped working with homekit and I had to reset and remove them both from homekit. I just can't get them registered back with homekit, I've gone through the reset and registration attempts many dozens of times each and they just won't register. I even tried resetting all my homepods and setting up again and still no luck.
Mine has worked right out of the box with no issues. It sounds like yours could be defective? maybe try reaching out to eufy?
Do you have any recommendations for HomeKit enabled outdoor cameras?
anything by eufy :) i use eufycam 2c and 2c pro
Thank you! I know some models are not HomeKit friendly. I wish Eufy would update their whole line.
Was looking for a basic home intrusion camera and landed on this. I'm also tempted with the Eufy cameras but wouldn't an intruder remove the micro SD card? What's the point if the video is not instantly uploaded to the cloud?
Thanks for sharing how you found this video. And yes, an intruder can remove an sd card but tbh i doubt an intruder will focus on that minute detail if they're actually trying to find something to take. they'd take the whole camera unit before the sd card specifically imo. there is cloud recording available in the eufy app and in apple home (viewable when the camera is offline). keep in mind, if there's an intruder...i feel like they'd take more than just a camera and unless it's secured on a ceiling or on a wall...it can be easy to take. this goes for any brand of security camera out there, not just eufy
@@AdamsTechLife thank you for the detailed response! You’re right, they’d probably take the whole camera. So you’re saying the cloud recording would remain? (As evidence let’s say) And b) does the camera have an option to enable a siren?
From homekit support point of view, which one do you recommend ?
I have a section of cameras I use at the end of the video :)
@@AdamsTechLife ya I did see but you specifically mentioned you don’t use homekit secure video much and rely on native apps of eufy. So just speaking from homekit view any strong recommendation?
Eufy :) works well in HomeKit, I just don’t use HomeKit Secure Video but it’s the best indoor HomeKit one I’ve tested
Long term use of the G2H doesn’t look good. Had one die and my other one looks like fog in night mode now
that is interesting to note, thanks for sharing your experience!
Can you access the ssd saved video through Apple HomeKit video? 4:36
apple home app cannot access files on a local sd card, you'd have to use the manufacture app to see that.
I got the Aqara G2H Pro and it’s always alarms me because of some light beam of a car or something. Since it can’t recognize people I don’t know what to do. Does anyone know how to solve this?
maybe try lowering the motion sensitivity if that's an option? but really no motion detection is perfect. it's difficult to adjust for minute movements like lights, tree limbs moving around because of wind, etc
Hi there my name is Ken. I have four 2C Pro Eufy security outdoor cameras, and I also have two of S220 Eufy indoor cameras : my question is how many S220 Eufy indoor cameras can you have because I bought a third one and I tried to hook it up but I couldn’t get it connected to HomeKit. Of course you could connect it to their app but that’s not what I wanted- since I’m trying to stay with HomeKit. Since I couldn’t get them to go on HomeKit, I sent them back and ordered an Aqara Camera Hub G3, which I could put on HomeKit, but they are more expensive. I would like to stay with one brand … I do not know if you could help me or answer this question but I thank you for listening to me.
Thanks from Ken
Hey Ken, thanks for your comment. What happened when you tried to add it to HomeKit from the eufy app, did you get an error message?
Hi there it’s been about six months ago this happened. I couldn’t tell you if an error message came up. My apologies …I guess I’d just like to know how many Eufy indoor cameras you can put on HomeKit. I have two already : I’d just like to know if you can put more on the same system with HomeKit involved.
There’s no limit for wired eufy cams in HomeKit
We are using SIX AQARA G2H Pro and G3 through HomeKit, which I think is the limit for the secure cloud storage. Additional cameras beyond six will show a blue dot in the top right of the camera view to indicate NOT recording to cloud, and a red dot if it is recording…
🤔
I am surprised that you don't have the Circle View in this video
I have 2 setup with Homekit (Backyard + Driveway) and they work very well, and it's for both indoor and outdoor!
Also, you can 3D print its mount if you wish to mount it anywhere, even on the lightbulb base and use it as USB for powering it.
this was focused on cameras that only work indoors, not ones that can be both. i have reviewed the circle view tho...wasn't a huge fan tbh
Why is the Logitech missing? It seems to be a very popular HomeKit only camera that supports secured video.
Technically, logitech can be used safely outdoors, this vid was specifically focused on cams that are designed to work indoors only. logitech would be featured in an outdoor comparison video ;)
Why does Apple Homekit always bring down the cam quality?? Every time you showed a camera that CAN do 2K recording.. But then you show and explain that Homekit only shows it in 1080p quality? Why's that? I'd be wanting to get the full quality to ensure I can see everything going on clearly
It’s a limitation set by apple, they won’t say why 🤷🏼♂️ 1080p still looks great tho
Love your video! And I love these lists of cameras, but homekit is absolutely abysmal. Apple needs a team to focus on that egregious app..
So glad to hear you enjoyed the video! and I agree, HomeKit is nice but needs a complete overhaul. Thanks for watching! 😊
Why i can't add the Dyson pure cool fan ?
Dyson is not native HomeKit compatible...
just beware for privacy
thanks for watching and commenting!
My Eve Cam is a POS and would never buy another one
right there with ya LOL
The point where you say it has one feature no one else does but let's talk about other stuff, I just stopped. Seriously?
Thank you for watching!
