Wow... people said I have my work cut out for me. You had my jaw dropped the whole video. My engine (and cosmetics) are in better shape, since mine was in a garage for 17 years. But the fuel wasn't drained so my carbs were in way worse shape. Just gotta say, good luck
Get a good wire diagram is the best advice I can give. The most complicated thing is the turn signal wiring. everything else is pretty straight forward. The 3 yellow wires from the stater go to the three wires going to the regulator/rectifier doesn't matter which yellow goes to which sometimes they are black. The B+ to the starter solenoid, and a ground, also the neutral light and oil light will be coming out with the stator wires. The CDI gets the two pulse coil wires going in, along with a B+ and a ground and two wires out to the coils. If you get confused just study the diagram. The B+ wire coming out of the starter relay goes to the main fuse then to the key and then back to the fuse block.
Just found this series on an 850. I too am restoring an 81 GS850 and will learn from you.
Nice video, I have one to restore. Your videos will help. THANKS!💪
mine sat for 30 years. Just cleaned the carbs, Removed the rust from inside the tank, and painted the frame..... I hope it runs lol
I have faith that it will.

I'm excited to get back to work on this bike. Not sure if it will run or not. I think it will but how well is the real question.
@@MrFixit1 from everything I've been seeing, if you can get it running that should do a lot to free up the rest
@@ripntearslayer9101 One step at a time until it's done is my motto.
I’m currently building a gs850 and got the bike with no wiring at all do you have any suggestion on how to wire this bike from scratch?
