I love looking into all the old registration stickers. Lets you get a glimpse into all the places its been over its lifetime. I think a military design would look great on this bike!
I haven’t decided if I am going to replace the gauges yet. These ones are in really great shape and I like the look so I may refresh them and put back on. If I decide to go another route I will let you know.
I've been steadily working in the background. Don't have enough for a new video yet. I'm in the middle of moving to a new location so that has put a slow down on progress!
I have two 81 GS850Gs. Headers 2 and 3 are separate pieces from 1 and 4 which obviously lead to the mufflers. Both mine have this “H” piece that connect header 2 to 1 and 3 to 4. It’s a s*** design because that “H” piece rusts easily and cracks like both of mine. Do you think when restoring I should look for these type of early model headers to mufflers? From what I understand they’d probably fit an 81. I’d actually like to leave one bike as stock as possible and have another customized. Thoughts on custom exhaust?
I am going to be installing a delkevic 4 into 1 exhaust system on this bike. I will do a full video on installation and film a sound comparison so that should help when making your decision!
I am a huge BMW fan. Been all over the world on my GS. Question, do you sell these after your done? Or do you just add them to your collection....Awesome channel after a crazy day at work this always unwinds me. Keep it up
I appreciate you watching! I love my BMW’s but this deal was too good to pass up. At the moment I just build these bikes for myself. I usual keep a rotation of 5-6 bikes so once I get over that amount I sell the one I ride the least.
I don't know why but I hate twin shock rear ends. I would try to fit a mono shock rear end and keep the kardan. Smaller tank, clip ons, single seat, big round headlight and keep ist clean as possible.
How in the hell do you know how to put it all back together again? I could manage to tear one apart but would be completely lost putting it together again.
Hi there. These are a really handsome bike from stock ( and the brat/scrambler thing is so ugly) and everything can be had to put it back to original quite cheaply on Ebay so that'd be my choice.
Hi! Restore it back to original! This is terrible! I had a GS 850 back in 1979-81! The best bike I ewer had! Sorry for my bad english!😊All the best! Hans-Jørn, Denmark!
850G's are built like trains, one of the best bikes I ever had. Good to see a complete strip down with no half measures. 👍
Man that seat had me worried. Can’t wait to see what you do with this one!
This bike is going to get the full treatment!
nice bike deserves some tender love and attention bravo
Thank you for posting this video man! I’ve been sweating thinking about how to get the motors out of both my GS850s
Loving the channel! Your K100 build has me set on choosing it as my first project bike here in the next year. Keep up the awesome content!
I appreciate you watching! You wont regret a K100 :)
I had a GS650 L that was my sweetie. Easy to work on, lovely to ride.
Ah yes, another bay city restoration build. Looking forward to it! Maybe another style like the BMW K100? 😋👀👀👀
😎 I promise it will be of the same quality! Appreciate you watching!
Looking at the minister of defense sticker, I would go with a military design for the new build! Great bike selection BTW!!

Good work buddy! it's looks pretty clean considering. Fingers crossed the rest of the build goes that smooth!
Thanks dude! I was just really happy the exhaust wasn’t seized on this one. It came off so easy compared to that crusty R80 lol
Great job👍😎
Good job man! A brazilian fan here.
All the way from Brazil! Appreciate you watching! 🙏🏻

This is so exciting!!! Its going to be great!
Yea buddy! Joining the GS850 club 😁

How much time do we have to wait for part 2 ? Can't wait ?

Total rebuild nto factory specs?
What about a R100R roadster customised ?
If I can find one at a good price I would love to build one.
@@BayCityRestorations l haven't been able to find part 2 of the GS 850 Suzuki
It’s on the way. I’ve been in the process of moving which has slowed down the progress on the 850.
how much for a 80-89 gs1000
Wow
Hey bud! Are you selling the exhaust system for this bike?
Yes, I still have it and plan on selling it. Email me at baycityrestorations@gmail.com

A lot of videos and pictures! And the service manual helps too lol
That seat looked so dodgy! 😅
😂 It was hanging on by a thread

😂
I liked this but you gotta talk if you want to have a decent production quality. Not a ton, just enough to explain a few things
I think you should build something nicer than you are starting with
It will get there!
That rear end though....
🤮
It will be getting a whole new setup that I’m excited to show!
