+Armando Valtierra Sure thing. I've been replaying Zelda games for the past six months. Started with OoT (3DS), then MM (3DS), TWW (GC), TP and ALBW. The reason: I never played Skyward Sword and I wanted to sort of build to the moment. I'm almost done (final temple) and although I feel dissatisfied with the latter, it has been a pretty cool experience. Besides, noticing that TWW has aged well is priceless. A beautiful game.

I've played Stone Tower right after beating the Spirit Temple once just to see which one I like better. I found out that I prefer Stone Tower. I like how unique the atmosphere and the puzzles are, not to mention the awesome mini-bosses. The Spirit Temple is definitely in the top three for me, but Stone Tower just barely beats it.

My favourite is Snowpeak Ruins from Twilight Princess. I love that it takes place in a mansion. Runner-ups are the Forest Temple, Earth Temple and Sandship.

As far as dungeon design and intricacy go, Twilight Princess' dungeons were a bit lackluster in my opinion. But the atmosphere is almost unrivalled. The standout is, of course, the Lakebed Temple. Puzzlebox dungeons and players are in a love/hate relationship really. Dungeons like The Water Temple of OoT, the Lakebed Temple in TP and the Sky Keep of SS are real treasures of puzzle design, but sometimes become unbearable due to poor progression choices. Just imagine the Water Temple without needing to constantly equip/remove the Iron Boots for example. I just feel that dungeons today more often than not house the challenge, while they should BE the challenge. But what do I know, a sucker whose favourite dungeon is a water temple, about dungeon design. 😂

Personally I find the temple of time to be an amazing dungeon due to the fact that I think that the temple of time was meant to be a dungeon in oot but was scrapped. Hear me out whenever you play saria’s song and talk to Navi in a dungeon she will always say “Link try to keep moving!” Which she says that in the temple of time. That’s why I believe that TP was the chance to breathe new life into a scrapped dungeon

Honestly, I feel lucky that this game franchise was even created. The Legend of Zelda series has given me thousands of hours of fun and happiness from the time I was 7 years old, clear into my late 20’s and quite obviously beyond. Thank you, Shigero Miyamoto, I’m forever in your debt.

What we need is a shrinking mechanic like in Minish Cap only for a console game. Having this ability opened a whole new world of possibilities for puzzles, dungeons, and even just getting around armos. It allowed you to explore not only the Minish areas (villages) but also places you could normally explore while big (like castle town), only with a different vantage point. It was an interesting mechanic that really added a lot of variety to the game. I think that would add some excellent dungeons to the list.

The forest temple only works so well because the music was composed so well.
The tune captivates the player with the pure feel of being in ancient mysterious woods, apart from that the guy that came up with twisting room floor was a genius mastermind, perfectly adding to the feeling of mystery.

Also, the boss fight with two parts that include shooting an ice/fire imbued mirror shield and neat gameplay was nice too.

Twinmold is the worst boss in Majora's Mask aside from Gyorg, they both got uninteresting designs, boring and repetitive fights. Odolwa, Goht and all Majora's forms are much better than them, especially Odolwa, great design, fun and challenging boss fight, just makes up for the best boss in Majora's Mask, and one of the best boss in any Zelda game imo.
Edit: Actually Majora's Incarnation isn't that good, it literally has only one attack, and it just runs and dances, yeah, this one is the worst, here is my ranking:
      7- Majora's Incarnation
      6- Twinmold
      5- Majora's Mask
      4- Gyorg
      3- Majora's Wrath
      2- Goht
      1- Odolwa

+Fred Harvey I think otherwise, the water temple is hard because of the key everyone has a hard time finding, raising the water level up and down is annoying but not difficult. Great Bay Temple is extremely confusing, the design is almost nonsense and those who want to catch all the fairies know how painful it is to run out of time.

Why? I never understood why people had trouble with that dungeon. Just go to the rooms you haven't gone to yet. Easy.
You should try some of the dungeons in the Master Quest, I made it up to the spirit temple before I caved and looked up a guide online.

    • @samwesolowski7740

+billy bob Majora's Mask overall was much harder than Ocarina of Time. You pretty much couldn't beat the game without a substantial amount of heart pieces (which I don't usually try to get in Zelda on my first playthrough). You always had to keep track of the 3-day cycle, and the dungeons were hard! I loved the Great Bay Temple, but the Water Temple is nothing compared to it. Also some of those minigames just made you want to rip your own face off and eat it, like the octorok shooting game. It was such an amazing game though! :)

Spirit Temple should've been on this list. I notice that this list seemed to have a lot of creepy dungeons on it. And why does Water Temple get honorable mentioned. It's so annoying and tedious.

Unpopular opinion, but I enjoyed the Dark Palace from A Link Between Worlds. Something about a dungeon with literal darkness as the theme, having to use it to see certain walls platforms and enemies, and an eerie theme on top of it all makes it somewhat enjoyable.

Most likely because of the nostalgia of it being practically impossible. Difficulty can be a huge factor in being liked, even if it wasn't liked while playing it. Haha! This is actually a good WatchMojo list. So stoked for Breath of the Wild!
