Interesting "500" - "Checks" but I can't tell what exactly was checked and no apparent checklist use in any of the critical phases. I'm a bit surprised about that.
@@markor2476 500 is a Garmin call out, as far as checklist go I use flows and an abbreviated checklist intended for single pilot use. It’s in the left pocket down by my knee. Flows are good for critical phases of flight as it prevents head down time during that critical time. I’ll show the checklist on my next video, it’s really simplified and abbreviated.
@@ProPilotPete I just started flying complex (20h so far) and I notice the problem with checklists and head down. Especially VFR. How do you learn flows and how do you pick the point at which you perform them to remain consistent and not forget. In this video I saw you check the landing gear and nothing much else out loud. We're you doing them in your head? Thanks for any tips.
@@markor2476 I should verbalize it more, especially when recording. I tend to say it to myself when I have pax onboard, but really shouldn’t. I have callouts I do regardless. The flows really depend on the aircraft but I’ve got them for pistons as well. What are you flying?
@@markor2476 you can do a Gas Undercarriage, mixture, props but I like 3 green no red (referring to gear-it makes you look at the lights) lights on (they are located near gear handle on the Baron and bonanza) mixture rich, flaps are full. In the jet it’s 3 green no red, lights on, flaps to land.
Yeah, that tower controller's Fronsay accent was pretty thick. I'm impressed you understood him. Great flight!
Pro Pilot Pete flying Single pilot in a Citation has to be amazing and I’ll always there riding along side you as a SIC
Beautiful approach to landing
