    One thing I do to reduce wear and pilling on my clothes is to always turn them inside-out before washing and drying them. It helps reduce wear on the fibers as the clothes are tumbled against each other, and helps them look newer, longer.

    Another thing to know, is that once you start with Dickies, they are a addictive. I started with this brand about 18 years ago as I wanted something a bit more loose fitting and baggy during the time when skinny and slim pants were in fashion, well today I have so many pairs of Dickies that now Dickies is just about all I wear. While I am a big fan of 874 and have many 874 pants, my favorite is actually the Dickies double knee work pants as they are the most baggy of the work pants and in my opinion look good on me.

      I felt the same way when wearing them for the first time in high school. If you're used to wearing slimmer fitting pants that's just how you'll feel until you get comfortable/used to wearing 874s. 873s are pretty bad fitting in my opinion. They are very tight, specially when sitting down. Might have to get a W34 next time. Also, they don't stretch at all like other pants after a few wears.

    Get one big full container of Iodized salt, put every bit in a 5 gallon bucket, and start running hot water, not steaming hot but warm enough not to damage the color.
    Fill the bucket up with iodized salt, and enough water to cover the enire pant but not way above them. Let the pants soak for one or 2 full days with something to weight it down and once done take it out and throw it in the washing machine. the pilling is, like said, due to repeated abrasion and rubbing of the same area but also because of the high polyester content.

    One thing I'll add is when I'm looking to buy a pair of dickies the last place I'd consider buying them would be any fast fashion retailer. Urban Outfitters, Pac sun, etc because they're intentionally marking up the price to make more money. Dickies are a relatively inexpensive brand, but Apparently if you crop them at the ankle they go from $30 to $50? it makes no sense. In my experience the best place to buy dickies is an indoor/outdoor swap meet, a mom and pop clothing store, literally called "clothing store", skate shops, and goodwill. Skate shops can be pricy too but I just can't justify paying $50 for a pair of pants that I can just as easily crop myself if I wanted to.

    Try making a review of Ben Davis trim fit pants. They are much better but more expensive than Dickies 874. Other than that. They are great and totally worth having them from my opinion.

    Hey @Drew do these pants also collect a lot of hairs etc.? By that I mean, are they static'y a lot and collect random hairs from all over? That shit drives me insane and would be a deal breaker. Don't mind the pills from wear and tear collecting but if they're static clingy that's a no-go for me.Thanks!

    • @DrewJoiner
      @DrewJoiner  3 года назад +1

      They aren’t overly staticky, I have a dog plus I live in Colorados dry climate and I haven’t really noticed much hair or anything just pilling in my experience

    I usually wear 36 in normal pants, i'm struggling to buy 874 because there are people who tell me they fit true to size and others who say they fit too tight. I'm 1.85cm x 78kg and i don't know if i should take a 36 or a 38

    • @DrewJoiner
      @DrewJoiner  3 года назад

      That’s a tough question because in all honesty there is no way to know unless you th what pants are you a 36 in?

    • @johnnyhorizon8368
      @johnnyhorizon8368 3 года назад +1

      I too am a 36 waist in most pant sizes but am an in-shape gym rat 65 year old daddy.
      I bought a pair of 38 waist 874RB (Royal Blue).
      They had about an thumbs width of extra space at my natural waist (too much) & when I wear with a belt, the belt cinches up an inch of material around my waist! Very uncomfortable!
      On top of that I have the dreaded “Asian No Butt” which means I have no hips. Thus means I have a stovepipe torso. Nothing for the pants to “hold onto” which requires - a belt!
      Anyway u see it I should have found a 36 waist!
