For me, it’s buying too many sneakers. When I first started getting into sneakers, I’d try to buy as many pairs that caught my eyes. Sometimes I would just buy sneakers because they were on sale even though I had no emotional connection to it. It would get so bad that whenever I got a new pair, I’d get stressed out on where I can store them. Now I’m trying to downsize on my collection because I’m focusing more on essential sneakers that’ll fit my capsule wardrobe. Sometimes too much of things can become toxic for your mental health.
100% agreed. I feel I am more excited unboxing my sneakers then actually wearing them, as most of them ends up back in their box and in piles. Now my rules are: 1) 1 pair in, at least 1 pair out. I am constantly thinning out my collection. 2) Be honest with myself whether I will actually wear it with my outfits. I don't care how beautiful I think a pair of purple suede sneakers are, I know I ain't wearing them. 3) If they don't have long-term hold values, and I haven't worn them in a year, they are out.
Same man, At my peak I had over 100 pairs. I used to work for Nike EHQ and several sneaker stores and was copping multiple pairs every month. It took me now almost 3 years to downsize it to around 15 to 20 pairs of sneakers that I actually all wear. It put a lot of pressure mentally on me as well to always think about my outfit and colour coordination or oh yeah haven't worn this pair a lot etc.
@@KillaBean416 Yep I agree with the 5-7 pairs of anything (especially shoes and watches) since if you get either of those at retail they cost quite a bit (at standard shoe stores, but at those off stock shoe places [that sell retail shoes, just out of season] they actually are 50%-60% off). That number of pairs gives each pair of shoes time to air out between wears, especially if one's feet has a propensity to sweat lots and feed the bacteria that are the source of smelly feet/shoes (I think that would be the biofilm from the soles of feet). That "off stock" means the shoes I don't see on shoe stores like Foot Locker's shelves/shoe holders. I buy to use them, not for the sake of just leaving them lying around on a shelf.
Love this concept, more fashion RUclipsrs should do this as it feels so real, a lot of you have religious followers whether you believe it or not and these type of videos make you guys seem more human and helps viewers relax on some trends etc and help them know they might not be missing out as much as they think they might be
I agree. My style is so many things at once and my focus isn’t narrowed. It feels like I don’t have a specific “aesthetic”…but I think not having a specific aesthetic is my personal unique aesthetic in a way…Trying and wearing different things is what makes styling yourself fun and keeps it interesting! Great Video!
You made me buy the Adrian loafers!! They became a stable in my shoe collection, love them! Sizing up and thicker socks really helped with comfort for me. 🤗
10:00 Try incorporating lighter color bottoms into your fits. You like to wear color (yellow, purple, orange), but almost all your pants are dark-wash denim or black. Pants set the vibe of the outfit and can bring together eclectic styles. Give it a shot :)
How would you recommend adding more color in one's wardrobe? The most color I've worn are blue suede or dark burgundy shoes, while the rest of my closet is black or very dark green, navy, and grey. I guess I've never felt confident enough to wear something brighter. 😓 Perhaps colored accessories to start?
@@It_swill I’d start simple. Get a white sneaker with some color like the Adidas Gazelle or Samba. Wear that with your existing clothes. Throw in a white t-shirt or light-wash jean and you have a good base to incorporate whatever color you like. Don’t overthink it - just look for clothes and colors that you like. As long as you feel good wearing something it will look good too.
@@Indigololz For me I usually go with complementary sets of colours. However for all the earth colors, they can mix together no matter what color. Also as you said, start from the shoes, then pants, then torso
I feel you on having so many different styles and lanes you want to try out. Many of my regrets came from branching out a little too far. Understanding that I can appreciate something without wanting to buy it is something I'm still trying to learn.
That happened to some coach slides my husband got me as a gift and when i told him not to worry about it he still bought me another pair. Like i appreciate it but they were just shoes..
honestly the stories i hear from my friends about those loafers...😂 i really admire what you said at the start of the video about 'the feeling of regret being one of the worst emotions to feel yet also the biggest motivator for change', in a way this awareness gives us the grace to make those necessary mistakes and be easier on ourselves 🧡
ugh, I regret everything Aritzia. I got sucked into the hype during the pandemic, but their quality, return policy, customer service, pricing, sales is all shit. Also, I can relate to the exploratory regrets. I try to mitigate it by returning nearly 80% of the clothes that I buy, but sometimes, things don't work out like the shoes that never broke in (ferragamo loafers for me). I think this is why I got into color theory and learning about body proportionality. The more you know, the less you miss.
I found with my Adrian Loafers that a combo of hairdrying them near the seams, heel and strap, wearing them post heating up around the house & applying the wonder balsam helped me break them in only a couple days. Watching your OG video actually triggered me to buy mine, and are still a daily wear for me 🤞🏼
It’s funny you mention feeling uncomfortable wearing camions with jeans, i have a pair in black and I’ve been rocking them with denim nonstop for the past 8 months. I think the pairing really nails the “dressy cowboy” style that our legacy kinda excels at, but if that’s not your thing, I can totally see the camions being a letdown. I’m planning on picking up a pair in the olive brown color way soon, so i’m obviously a big fan haha
The Camion boots look great with your jeans. If you’re referring to the cowboy style then your jeans will pair perfectly with them as you know jeans are a staple in western style
Honestly the reason why I started watching this channel was because I felt like I didn't have any direction for my style and I wanted to learn from you. I reset my wardrobe after college and I never cared about fashion until a year ago. I went through a lot of ups and downs too and I justified it in my head at first cuz I mostly bought second hand. However, after awhile I thought it was wasting money but I really resonated with you when you said that there's a difference between spending money as a waste and spending money to experiment with your style. I think overall, I've kept a consistent style and spent money to experiment every once in awhile so it wasn't a waste of money after all. Thanks, Drew!
Dude, I regret so many purchases this past year. I’m 31, I’m pretty set in how I like to dress; the mix of maneuverability/comfort and stylishness was dialed in. A bit of a personal uniform thing you know? I didn’t have to worry about what I was going to wear and I knew I would enjoy wearing it and that I would look good. But this past year I basically said fuck it, everything I have an interest in whether or not it is something that fits my aesthetic currently I’m just gonna buy it and try it. I can honestly say that I spent thousands to end up more or less where I began. I did gain some insight into some things, my buying habits in particular, but lots of money wasted. especially on sneakers because I don’t wear sneakers except for when I’m training. But anyway, yeah. Glad I can share that somewhat embarrassing fact to a community that understands where I’m coming from.
As someone who trifts most of their clothes I really need to start thinking of practicality more, I'm very intriqued by dramatic cuts, dizzying prints or just loud pieces overall. This often comes with the problem that my wardrobe is limited since not everything looks good with everything. I should invest more in timeless pieces that I can use to build multiple fun and colorful outfits around then :D also this was a nice video, a little deinfluencing moment for us all :)
Got my first pair of new balances a few days ago, the grey 990v3, and the only thing I regret about them right now is the fact that I took so long to get a pair 😂 The comfort and versatility is insane
The Camion Boot one is wild to me, they go soo well with jeans. Like you said they're cowboy boot-ish and jeans are a staple of that style. And especially the oxblood fits perfectly with darker washes, wich lord knows you got those on lock
the oxblood colored boots with the japanese denim you have on is super fun ! you can try a trusty denim shirt or jacket for a denim-on-denim look, or chucking on an oversized letterman jacket for a collegiate 70s vibe haha i'll have to say that red has always been difficult for me to incorporate in my own wardrobe, and i find that it works better in tops than it does for bottoms or shoes OTL
If you consider the jacket to be an overshirt, it is not a bad piece, I know that the pockets are kind of the wrong place for an overshirt, but I think they look cool anyways. Great video as always, Drew :)
Weird point on the Adrian loafers, I've worn a lot of docs, as in from 2012 to 2020 I think I literally only owned Docs, probably 10 - 15 pairs and have had a number of really tough to break in pairs . The Adrian loafers were probably the easiest pair / least break in period I've experienced. I don't think this is to do with the style of shoe at all, I just think Docs quality is questionable these days and unreliable as to whether a pair will break in beautifully or it will be torture.
Your bonus regret about getting caught up in all different types of fashion is real bro! I have been going through the same thing. The more I tried fashion, the more complicated it got and I am someone who maybe 5 years could not imagine putting more than 30 sec of thought into an outfit. The worst part I noticed is you end up going to the same things every time unless you make a conscious decision to wear something. Imma be honest, my way of getting out of this has been to view my clothes based on my environment and activity. It doesn't fix the issue, but if you are sometimes overwhelmed with different choices, it's worth trying that thought process. It simply makes the choices a little easier to organize.
I literally went to look at the Adrian loafers (and bought them) because I think I watched a tiktok where you styled them or maybe it was in a RUclips video, BUT I first tried the Adrian loafers you got and they did not fit me right and were just uncomfortable (I tried them in two different sizes). I then decided to try the Adrian loafers with the yellow stitching and they felt significantly better and fit me way better (in my normal doc marten size). They were annoying to break in I will admit, but they are now my go to everyday shoe! I'm not sure if they are actually different than the ones you have (w/out the yellow stitching), but just from trying them both on in the store I could feel a difference.
I think sizing on the Adrian Loafers is ultra important as i did a ton of research before buying them, I’ve straight up danced in them without any pain
Did you stay true to size or go down a full size as Drew recommended in original video? Just bought a pair in 9uk where I’m usually a 10 & now im wondering should I return them for a half size larger…
Just took a trip to Chicago with my gf (@post vid vid question) and got some cardinal 7s downtown and we had a great trip and it refreshed my summer! Spending a few days out of Ohio and ending with a pair of shoes MJ won a championship in, couldn’t get much better than that. Thanks drew glad to see you’re doing well
Dont feel pressured to narrow your style! Youre young, play around with style and youll find over time that youll gravite to certain things. And as you said, taste can be cyclical.
All my regrets are based on choosing something that was the wrong size. Almost every shoe I bought in the past 2 years was, like, half a size to a size too big, which sucks because I like the style of shoes I bought (Merrell Moab 3 mids) but they're not comfortable to wear, so I almost never wear them. I also bought some Thursday boots because everyone said they'd break in eventually and they just never got comfy. I should probably sell this stuff but I'm lazy ...
As someone who recently bought Adrian loafers, I understand your pain! I had to send back the shoes twice just to get the right size. Never had that problem with any other Dr Marten shoe's I purchased which is weird.
A dancer here with some useful tips for breaking in your loafer without destroying them. When breaking in with a pair of stiff, lacquered, polished loafer (like doc martens) try wearing them around your place with a pair of damp socks on. As strange as it may seem, this actually imitates a sweaty foot situation inside your shoe which helps soften and mold the leather inside to your feet. Just make sure to leave them somewhere airy after so they can "breathe" and evaporate all that humidity. Other useful tips that I learned from an actual shoe maker is to use a cream that contains urea. Yes. You read it right. Urea. It can be a foot cream, you rub a little bit inside, on the sides and on the vamp (still on the inside), put a thick sock on and let it work its magic. ✌🏼
My main regrets are trying to get incorrect sized shoes to fit. Even if it's just one width or a half size too small/large, it's not worth the effort and pain. I buy a lot of vintage and secondhand footwear, but those $20-$100 mistakes add up! In regards to the Docs loafer, I think that rigid sole, corrected grain leather, and the last it's built upon is not right for your feet, or it's just not well designed in the first place. For something like loafers, the secondhand/thrift market is full of options, and Allen Edmonds is a great start. I'm a self-professed "shoe enthusiast" so I have and have tried many welted shoe brands, and imho a *supportive* leather shoe is more forgiving than a foamy canvas one, which only feels good short term, but doesn't support your foot long term. It's best to get measured correctly and often, try on many different lasts, and don't get married to a style of shoe too fast or one shoe size for everything, bc if it don't fit, it don't fit. Not worth the aching and suffering. I digress. This video makes me feel a bit less regretful knowing we all make monetary fashion mistakes...❤
I also have that issue with saying “I only like this one style”. When I’ve realised that fashion (for me at least) can’t be like that. I just now use trends as a way to see if it fits my current interests, and if it doesn’t then that’s fine! It’s boiling it down to basics. For example, I really only dress in two “categories” for lack of better term: -preppy gym wear -workwear + boots I got into them during the trends but now it’s all I wear and I just narrow down into either one of these each day I put together and outfit. And if I can’t decide which one, then I wear my well invested comfy tracksuits that look great by themselves. Keeps things fresh whilst keeping true to me and my lifestyle.
Fashion for me it started with regular New York everyday style and I always love how I looked and love improving into my style but then when the pandemic hit and everybody was home washing TikTok fashion I noticed how unhappy I became trying to chase the new trend and into the fashion rabbit hole and it felt like people that had the most money was the ones that could dress the best. I ended up giving up on flashing but just decided to pick it back up with thing I’ve always loved and I’d say it works.
Shame about the Adrian Loafers. I've got the Made in England version and haven't experienced the same downsides as you. That might be because the materials are higher quality, but so is the price so it's a compromise! Great video mate!
I appreciate you sharing your interest in loafers regardless! I spent the extra money on a pair of Blackstock&Webers and couldn’t be happier with the quality and fit. ❤
I love this, but where I'm at in my fashion journey I try really hard not to have purchases be regrets. So so many pieces I bought and weren't crazy about when I got them became hidden treasures later when I revisted them. I try to look at them as part of the evolution of my style. I def feel all over the place with my style too, but I also don't feel like I have to have one cohesive vision. My main interests in clothing are so far apart from each other that it just makes sense to match styles by the day instead of trying to have a completely theme cohesive wardrobe. I really enjoy stone island and CP company and some more avant garde Japanese and dutch fashion, but I also really enjoy work wear and the general vibe of a lot of the stuff you wear. Some days I look like a slavic football hooligan and some days I take a bunch of inspiration from people like you or Matty Matheson, I'm cool with that dichotomy :] That being said, I have 2 very expensive pairs of Maharishi pants that I desperately want to get rid off. Someone please buy them lmao
Oh dude I've got a ton of regrettable clothing buys, mainly because I thrift all my stuff, and I'll get some crazy looking pieces just because they're so cheap. I think the worst was this really thin longline beach cardigan thingy from Billabong that I feel like would be really cool if I was at a psychedelic music festival on the beach somewhere, but really has no place in my (nor any human's really) wardrobe. Also fellow Coloradoan represent! 👊
Your unique personal style IS the unique combination of many things at once. Sooo I think that’s not only ok…but correct to like many things and seek to incorporate them.
The our legacy boots would probably go well with a more punk inspired aestethic. That is more the brands thing anyways. Personally love their ”borrowed” shirts and trousers that all have a wild fit and give off a relaxed snd edgy vibe.
Great video. We all have regrets especially when it comes to fit and preconceived notion of quality vs actually quality. All the jeans displayed are very versatile they even work w/ the oxblood boots which do look good on you. Tall ppl can be a more bold w/ eye catching pieces.
I love my Adrian loafers. They’re so comfortable for me personally that I’ll wear them even if I have a day full of walking. I “thrifted” mine for ~$70 at *perfect mint* condition. Sure there are far better loafers out there, but I can’t turn down a good deal like that!
I just want to say i really appreciate you putting the CC! i really like the camion boots with the denim :-) i think they would look good with an all denim, canadian tuxedo fit too - its such a beautiful shoe
i’ve had my adrian loafers for well over 3.5 years now and i’ve hardly faced any discomfort. they’ve been my go-to for what feels like forever. i have a wider foot, specifically in the heel, which i believe is the key to my complete lack of discomfort throughout my entire wearing experience. if you got particularly long or slim feet, i have a feeling these just simply won’t work for you.
It's quite sad to hear that you regret buying the camion boots,,,,, especially because u truly influenced and inspired me to buy camion boots for myself! (cognac brown color though)
Easy listening to others. Back in middleschool people used to taunt me for my style and the annoying thing is i stopped because of this, and then a few years later what i was wearing became a more common place style.
Wore the Adrian loafers 5 days straight on a trip cause I didn't bring any other shoes with me. Chucked some plasters on my heel and rolled with it. It was actually alright, but they will literally NEVER break in, they still give me blisters if I wear them with thin socks.
I think its better to think of personal style as "what silhouette do I prefer" and ground your items around that instead of saying, "well I like X specific Item or Y specific Item" because these will change but the silhouette that most flatters you should remain fairly consistent.
Really liked this uploaded, I also regret my our legacy boots 😂 just don’t wear them as much. And the talking point about your style trying to be so many things is spot on something I’ve realized about my wardrobe.
i had a similar experience with my docs. after 3 months of trying to wear them regularly for breaking them in, I started to leave them at the office and put them on only when i was sitting at my desk working. They got a lot more comfortable and do not hurt unless im out and walking in them for 5-7 hrs. Its been 1 year now and I can finally say that i've broken in the docs
I totally feel you in regards to Doc Martens. I have had many pairs in my life and they all took way too long to break in. That's why I only purchase Solovairs now. The leather is of a far more premium quality and the comfort, as compared to Docs, is night and day. Great video.
They truly aren’t nearly as good as they were back in the day. No proper shank, no real stitching (cemented soles) and poor quality soles and leather. It’s a shame.
Solovair makes a nice loafer too. Made in England. They originally made doc martens when they were nice. I have a pair of their boots. Love them. Worth every penny.
Im in norcal and the summer this year has been crazy too! Like super chill in terms of temperature compared to normal... i would expect around 90s to 100 degree fahrenheit, but its been averaging 70s to 80s all summer so far
Good vid drew … I regret buying certain things but I do try to stick to my style because I know it’s easy to get caught up on social media trends especially nowadays, things can look so advertising online lol
soooo with the adrian's (I've had 2 pairs so far) you definitely HAVE to get those pad things that stick onto the heel of the shoe - eventually with those you'll break them in and they'll legitimately become the most comfortable non sneaker shoes you own, trust me
Unfortunately I think the pain that most people feel with the Adrian Loafers is that there are no half sizes so your forced to wear the size down too small you might never feel good in even after broken in.
Same, got the Adrians years ago and couldn't get through a few hours wearing them to work, shredded the back of my ankles and left me in pain. I absolutely love my black Camions though and bought the cognac brown leather ones too, no regrets.
I like long coats and jackets, but it's too hot to wear them for most of the year where I live. As a result I have some really cool pieces that hardly see the light of day.
For the Doc marten loafer, I think you should buy wide variants. We don't often run into this problem with sneakers because leather don't stretch and break as much. For red boots, you should buy matt-finish leather, they go better with denims for the street retro look, me personally have a Red wing moc toe 8875 oro russet, they are less classy and pair super well with denims or khaki.
I never understood the Adrian hate. They literally didn’t give me any trouble and I got them a half size down since I was a 10.5. Never had a blister either. 3 years after and they’re still comfortable
I’ve been wearing docs for about 15 years and the key to get them comfortable is mink oil. Gently heat the leather with a hair dryer on low and message the oil into the leather. Let it sit for the night then start wearing them around the house (if they’re clean) before you take them outside. Did this for my wife when she complained about the Jadons killings her feet and the next time she put them on they felt great.
It should have been obvious that buying some headphones where it's the company first pair of over the ears wouldn't have the best sound quality. I'm all for getting fashion items from lesser known brands because you can find some really interesting and fun designs, but fashion is not much of a factor that brands consider when making a quality pair of headphones. I'm surprised to hear that people would even buy headphones like that.
the hype for sweater vests and the sort of tyler the creator look got me to buy sm products in that area. wore it all for a month and will never go back to that style. i also regret buying a simon BB belt
the biggest misconception (if not the worst of them) is thinking heavier weight or tighter knit is quality. There's a lot when it comes to garment quality, GSM isn't one of it, it's just a property that is neither positive or negative depending on your use case.
you really changed my view on docs, they hurt my feet soooo much and why did i have to buy such an uncomfortable shoe when there are so many more comfortable ones that are just as good!!! i really just go them since my friends did and didn't research more shoes
I definitely feel you on the Adrian Tassel loafers. The pair I own is a half size bigger than my actual size so I always thought that was the main reason why they were uncomfortable and hurt. I don't know if I regret purchasing them because I still think it's a really stunning shoe, but I definitely don't wear them as much as I would if they fit me properly.
I regret buying Jordan 1 mid's for resell price last year... And worst is they are not as rare or hyped anymore as back then, they are so easy to get in various colors now. Additionally, I rarely wear them cause they hurt my feet after a long day walking... I just don't get why these shoes are so hyped when they are rlly uncomfortable. I'll stick to NB's, Converse, Air Max's and some other sneakers/shoes from now on :/
My new method is to straight up give away anything I don’t find myself wearing. To me it has added so much discipline to anything I buy, because the thought of just giving it away and completely losing what I paid for it is more painful now. It’s kind of short term pain for long term gain in terms of training myself and fighting the whole RUclips / hype fueled shopping addiction imo
I think that if you take your jeans to a tailor and get them tapered , then you will feel alot better about wearing all the shoes you want to wear. I had the same problem that i had a certain pair of jeans that i wore all the time with different types of shoes, from tennis shoes to boots and i noticed that no matter the foot wear, tapered pants helps you pull anything off.
The oxblood boots…a crucial style lesson I’ve learned: just because it looks good doesn’t mean it looks good worn. Some goods are like statues. A lot of sneakers fall into that category.
You helped me pull the trigger on some adrian loafers and it ended up being an instant regret lmaoo, I couldn't wear them more than ~5x because they hurt so bad but also the style didn't fit with my wardrobe. It did help me eventually find the Oree NYC derbys and those most definitely filled that spot in my wardrobe. I've had tons of regrets in the past year but lately i've just bought EVERYTHING being added into my wardrobe in black and found myself way more open to experimenting w diff styles and implementing what I really like into my day-to-day dress. I know the concept is almost played out at this point but the most important thing that improved my style was implementing a uniform that I can wear every day which can be slightly modified to fit damn near any occasion and i've loved it. Practical, comfortable, looks good but most importantly im not overspending on things I dont need now... lmao
One “issue” with being a taller athletic build is that a lot of styles suit us, so it can be hard to stay focused on just one. I’ve been trying to combat this by making sure the pieces i buy are something I could see myself still wearing 10 years out
I kind of have the same issue with that i love many different fahion styles. I LOVE suits and classic menswear, but i dont get to wear a suit that often, but it is so nice when i do get to wear it, and even implement some of the classic style to my everyday wear. And also like old school, skatervibe and minimalistic scandinavian. And i cant have all of these, and neither do all of these fit that great when combined (most of the time). But i do like mixing the ideas and "rules" these have with sizing, fits, proportions and comfort. Its just such a fun way to experiment!
Tbh I regret not buying skinny jeans earlier, now I just have a bunch of baggy and straight fit denim I don’t wear because slim fit looks so much better on me.
Facts the adrien loafers are way too harsh on the foot i think. I had to put 2 layers of bandaids to even wear them semi-comfortably for 4 weeks. They managed to break in for me though and now I love em. A bit sad they didn't break in for you tho.
Definitely agree with the loafers broski! Just ordered a dr martens and i already added 1 size just to make sure however when i received it, toe part was just too small. Had to returned it and spend around 5 dollars for the shipping and wait for a few days for the refund. It’s very hassle. Advice if you are planning to get a loafer add 2 size!!!
I must say - I had a COMPLETELY different experience with the Dr Marten Adrian Loafers. They hurt a lot upon the first 2-3 wears, but they have since broken in pretty easily. In fact, I find them to be the most comfortable loafers that I own.
Can you make a video on practical fashion bags from niche brands all over the world? I've often noticed bags are something that's very important irrespective of where you're coming from. -Heart you. 💛✨
For me, its the chicago 1s. Its been my holy grail since middle school and I finally got a pair when I had my first paycheck. Thats when realized I didnt look good in any hightop shoes like the 1s, blazers, chucks, etc. Also, they’re mad uncomfortable and putting them on was a hassle. I still have em now in my closet, I love looking at them. Its a beautiful shoe but I could never wear em
I regret every purchase which wasn’t was the right size for me. I bought so much stuff that was way too big, and in the end that stuff just ends up laying in my closet…
I collect G Shock watches and the same rule applies… only buy watches you’ll actually wear. A collection of 5-8 ish sounds about right
@@KillaBean416 Yep I agree with the 5-7 pairs of anything (especially shoes and watches) since if you get either of those at retail they cost quite a bit (at standard shoe stores, but at those off stock shoe places [that sell retail shoes, just out of season] they actually are 50%-60% off).
@@star42 purple suede sneakers? Are you talking about New Balance 990v3 Raw Amethyst bro?🤣
Love this concept, more fashion RUclipsrs should do this as it feels so real, a lot of you have religious followers whether you believe it or not and these type of videos make you guys seem more human and helps viewers relax on some trends etc and help them know they might not be missing out as much as they think they might be

I fw the jean and Camion combo. I feel like the boot has a lot of potential as a statement piece even though it is footwear.
Was just diving in here to write the exact the same thing.
I regret falling for fast fashion trends in 2020 when I couldn’t even wear what I bought outside of the house 😭
lmao bro what did you buy
you can if ur confident
@@akiko3688I bet some matrix looking stuff😂
You can wear it in fashion festival and anime cosplay 👍🏽

I agree. My style is so many things at once and my focus isn’t narrowed. relate to this 100% i dont have a style AT ALL !! i can wear all black clothes one day & then monochromatic clothes or jus a vibrant color for eg
You made me buy the Adrian loafers!! They became a stable in my shoe collection, love them! Sizing up and thicker socks really helped with comfort for me. 🤗
I also love them❤
Mine broke in a little but start to hurt after an hour of wear
I will say your Adrian’s look way stiffer than the ones I have. I find mine to be pretty comfy, especially with no socks.
imo they’re incredible and i’ve never gotten more compliments on any of my other pairs of shoes, and i have a lot of shoes
I wore my Adrian's with silicon heel protector thingys under my socks for like a month and they're broken in now and v comfy!
10:00 Try incorporating lighter color bottoms into your fits. You like to wear color (yellow, purple, orange), but almost all your pants are dark-wash denim or black. Pants set the vibe of the outfit and can bring together eclectic styles. Give it a shot :)
I agree with this!
How would you recommend adding more color in one's wardrobe?
The most color I've worn are blue suede or dark burgundy shoes, while the rest of my closet is black or very dark green, navy, and grey. I guess I've never felt confident enough to wear something brighter. 😓
Perhaps colored accessories to start?
Bought some Dior sunnys for a paycheck only to have them eaten by my dog a month later😭
That happened to some coach slides my husband got me as a gift and when i told him not to worry about it he still bought me another pair. Like i appreciate it but they were just shoes..
That is genuinely tragic
Rip 😂😭
rest in peace brobeans
Im guessiim guessing your talking about shades. Man you know better to buy those busted ass glasses. They are all generic with some bullshit branding
honestly the stories i hear from my friends about those loafers...😂 i really admire what you said at the start of the video about 'the feeling of regret being one of the worst emotions to feel yet also the biggest motivator for change', in a way this awareness gives us the grace to make those necessary mistakes and be easier on ourselves 🧡
ugh, I regret everything Aritzia. The more you know, the less you miss.
aritzia quality is bad ??? damn fr?? how bad is it?? its so expensive as well tho 😭
Aritzia is fire you buggin!!!
Bruh vibe is so heavenly. Videos be feeling like a facetime.
I’m planning on picking up a pair in the olive brown color way soon, so i’m obviously a big fan haha
his aren't black
@@Steven-mv9nxhe knows. He said “i have a pair in black”
The Camion boots look great with your jeans. If you’re referring to the cowboy style then your jeans will pair perfectly with them as you know jeans are a staple in western style
YES!! AND if he could raise the hem on the jeans. Just folding them one more time would help a lot🎉
A shoe I always go back to. Have the V5s rn but I like the older model like the V3 better
The Camion Boot one is wild to me, they go soo well with jeans. Like you said they're cowboy boot-ish and jeans are a staple of that style. And especially the oxblood fits perfectly with darker washes, wich lord knows you got those on lock
It sucks that they’re glued and not welted. Unforgivable for that price
the oxblood colored boots with the japanese denim you have on is super fun ! you can try a trusty denim shirt or jacket for a denim-on-denim look, or chucking on an oversized letterman jacket for a collegiate 70s vibe haha
i'll have to say that red has always been difficult for me to incorporate in my own wardrobe, and i find that it works better in tops than it does for bottoms or shoes OTL
I’m a 9.5 US and got an 8 UK, my feet are also pretty thin but i don’t know if that affects the sizing of these
Always go true to size with those
@@armanpamma9454 you got a US 9 and went down half a size
he need to be more detail before he bought that.
Great video of transparency. Might need a part 2.
And as you said, taste can be cyclical.
this kind of video is refreshing lol. we can all relate for sure. the power of the sale... i can't resist! 😅
Fully agree on the bonus regret, even now I want to move towards loafers from sneakers but that means buying a new wardrobe to fit that style 😪
Oooo this is a good question, I can think of a few pairs of sneakers I impulse bought and just don't wear now.
For example, I really only dress in two “categories” for lack of better term:
-preppy gym wear
-workwear + boots
I got into them during the trends but now it’s all I wear and I just narrow down into either one of these each day I put together and outfit.
Camions are my best purchase I have ever made, match made in heaven with a Scandi influenced style like mine
Shame about the Adrian Loafers. I've got the Made in England version and haven't experienced the same downsides as you. That might be because the materials are higher quality, but so is the price so it's a compromise! Great video mate!
I may regret buying some items of clothes but I don't regret watching a drew joiner video
I appreciate you sharing your interest in loafers regardless! I spent the extra money on a pair of Blackstock&Webers and couldn’t be happier with the quality and fit. ❤
The way this man explains things is just so amazing. I appreciate so much his style, dude thank you so much I’m subscribing rn ❤️❤️
I relate so much to the dr martens regret. Dont get them if they dont have your sizing correct or youll just experience blisters forever.
Some days I look like a slavic football hooligan and some days I take a bunch of inspiration from people like you or Matty Matheson, I'm cool with that dichotomy :]
That being said, I have 2 very expensive pairs of Maharishi pants that I desperately want to get rid off.
Cannot believe I wasn’t subscribed until this video considering how frequently I watch your content and how thoroughly I enjoy it!
The our legacy boots would probably go well with a more punk inspired aestethic. That is more the brands thing anyways. Personally love their ”borrowed” shirts and trousers that all have a wild fit and give off a relaxed snd edgy vibe.
100% red boots and punk go hand and hand. I’ve see. Some people absolutely kill it with the red cowboy boots too but that mainly women
7:27 look perfectly fine tbh
I’ve had 990v4 for years now. Glad to see NB come back out with them
I just want to say i really appreciate you putting the CC! i really like the camion boots with the denim :-) i think they would look good with an all denim, canadian tuxedo fit too - its such a beautiful shoe
i’ve had my adrian loafers for well over 3.5 years now and i’ve hardly faced any discomfort. they’ve been my go-to for what feels like forever. i have a wider foot, specifically in the heel, which i believe is the key to my complete lack of discomfort throughout my entire wearing experience. if you got particularly long or slim feet, i have a feeling these just simply won’t work for you.
It was actually alright, but they will literally NEVER break in, they still give me blisters if I wear them with thin socks.
ive never got any blisters from mine actually, they are a little big tho so I have to wear thicker socks
i can relate. they never break in like regular leather. the plastic coating on the cheap leather makes it nearly impossible.
NGL That jean and jacket fit @ 10:13 is super nice!!
i had a similar experience with my docs. after 3 months of trying to wear them regularly for breaking them in, I started to leave them at the office and put them on only when i was sitting at my desk working.
“Now I want to make it abundantly clear, I don’t think Doc Marten as a whole makes poor footwear” BUT I’LL SAY IT, THEY DO!!!! 😂
Facts. Plastic coatings so thick, you can never condition the leather.
They truly aren’t nearly as good as they were back in the day. No proper shank, no real stitching (cemented soles) and poor quality soles and leather. It’s a shame.
Yeah, look awesome. But endless agony. Not good enough.
Good vid drew … I regret buying certain things but I do try to stick to my style because I know it’s easy to get caught up on social media trends especially nowadays, things can look so advertising online lol
soooo with the adrian's (I've had 2 pairs so far) you definitely HAVE to get those pad things that stick onto the heel of the shoe - eventually with those you'll break them in and they'll legitimately become the most comfortable non sneaker shoes you own, trust me
Love the transparency drew
I love those red boots with Japanese denim. I've never been a big fan of super southern vibe but I think it works well
I never understood the Adrian hate. They literally didn’t give me any trouble and I got them a half size down since I was a 10.5. Never had a blister either. 3 years after and they’re still comfortable
i literally cannot agree enough with the loafers actually agonizing but they compliment so well
I’ve been wearing docs for about 15 years and the key to get them comfortable is mink oil.
For me it’s the Rick Owens Abstact sole lows… i literally only bought them just because, bought them months ago and only wore them twice
the hype for sweater vests and the sort of tyler the creator look got me to buy sm products in that area. wore it all for a month and will never go back to that style. i also regret buying a simon BB belt
the biggest misconception (if not the worst of them) is thinking heavier weight or tighter knit is quality.
Practical, comfortable, looks good but most importantly im not overspending on things I dont need now... lmao
13:59 duuuuude it’s the same here in Miami. My pool overflows almost everyday
I highly recommend the mx4. Bought mine 3 yrs ago and I still love them.
I fw u so heavy u have such a great personality. W vid
The jeans and boots combo looks fire bro, you got nothing to worry about
Definitely agree with the loafers broski!
