I see a lot of comments on how to do the tint removal better. I am thinking that taking that much tint off of the 5 pieces of glass in 1/2 hour would make the professionals say,,,,,, “Damn, that was fast!” To each their own I guess, but I don’t see how it can actually be done faster. Thanks guys and gal! I’m 55 and I still learn something new every day. Take care, Eh!
Just did this tonight on my wife's Mini Cooper with a handheld steamer. Plastic razor blade worked REALLY good on the rear window with the defrost lines. 91% isopropyl alcohol in a spray bottle works great for cleaning and scraping off old glue. Thanks for the inspiration JR.

Hyundai makes it super easy to change headlights. Honda made me go through the wheel well to change some of the bulbs. 2 bolts and slide out the light module on my '15 Elantra and it was the same in my '03 Elantra.
Good job. You can buy cerium oxide and polish out the windshield. Eastwood sells a kit as well. We took scratches out of a 560 SL and saved replacing it at 500 dollars
I like how you make sure the car is fully operational before you drop it. Many people hide problems and make the industry look bad but honest people like you help a lot.
The window tint was likely fine when it was installed. Cheap dyed films or older metallized films break down over time. Buy quality film and it will last a decade or more.
Hey, JR, I saw a tool on ebay that goes in an angle grinder and it supposed to be able to polish light scratches off of windshields when used with the included compound. I'd love to see you review one on a junk windshield.
Gabe there’s a handful out there. But this is the one I was looking at: rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F123769789344
Hi JR! Love your videos! Try buffing out the scratches on the windshield using toothpaste. Its great on watches, and may help the windshield. Thanks for what you do!
Steam BETWEEN the glass and tint once you've got it started OR you can spray your ammonia solution between glass and tint. Go slowly and more often than not, the adhesive will come with the tint leaving minimal clean-up... I've pulled ACRES of it off and that works best for me...
To remove old tint. simply tape a black plastic trash bag over the window and park in direct sunlight for about an hour. Once window is hot, peel one corner slowly and carefully in a diagonal direction toward the opposite corner. Should come off in one piece. Good luck and would love to see you and Amber do an 80s Mercedes 300 coupe or sedan ( or wagon)
Wow, I love those headlights! My old 2003 Honda Accord you had to either take off the whole quarter panel, or remove the battery to get space to get the headlight out. The newer 2013 Subaru Legacy you still have to remove the battery to get the headlight bulb out. That is so easy!
When installing halogen bulbs best tip is to use nitrile gloves those keep the oil off the glass and make changing bulbs alot easier. I use them when changing the bulbs on the exterior Halogen lamps outside my house.

Just a heads up -steam is a huge ally in fighting ashtray-reek. Not sure which cleaner to use with it though. Vinegar and water mix in the steamer is a good start. Good luck, that ashtray smell is beyond obnoxious. ;(
Normally you have to take off a single bolt from the bumper then you can access the third bolt to the headlight. Also the bumper is supposed to clip into the headlight
Try using a hair dryer or a heat gun next time. Just peel a little corner and heat up as you peel just like the steamer but no water mess. Rubbing alcohol is the best for removal use the 91 to start the clean and 99% for the detail clean. Never use steel wool. It will leave micro swirls in the glass if you press too hard.

I had a cop pull me over and make me remove the tint on the doors. It was cold out (really, really cold) and he waited nearly two and a half hours for me to peel off. I only owned the car for two days and was planning on removing the tint. The worse part is that I could see my house from where I got pulled over and the pig wouldn't let me get a razor blade. I had to break a cd and scrape with it while he was yelling and threatening me that he was going to tow the car.
The best thing to remove adhesive without melting plastic and rubber is WD40. I’ve used it for stuff like removing bumper stickers and tint. 1000 times easier.
I prefer to use a heat gun from the outside of the glass.b I guess the steamer look like it worked okay but you're still going to have to go over with glass cleaner and razor blades around the edges and really make sure that you got the glue off especially around the bottom track where the door panel hits the glass at least for if you're ever going to apply at tint again.
