I really love that you’re doing in depth reviews of water rides. I love them and they’re often taken for granted and overlooked by theme park enthusiasts. Please do more!
This ride is essentially a 2 for 1, combining a modern and swift rapids ride with a shoot the chute ride. This is easily my favorite rapids ride I’ve been on. Also, no employee complained about me holding my feet up. And I wasn’t being secret or subtle about it. In fact, I was encouraging others in my raft to do so.
Probably because rapids rides aren't exactly famous for being well documented. The rapids in Yomiuriland supposedly has a very big drop that some riders have reported feeling taller than Mystic River Falls. Information on this ride is very hard or impossible to obtain, so the actual height of the drop is unknown, but the building that houses the rapids rises to ~60' tall, so a 45'+ drop could fit in there. So SDC probably marketed it as the tallest in the Western Hemisphere because that is as far as the record can be claimed with 100% certainty.
Infinity Falls and Popeyes are my two current favorite rapids rides, but this one looks like it’s right up there with them! The landscape looks outstanding as well, wish Big Bear Mountain had that landscaping
I think it looks really neat and fun. Much more soaker than White Water Canyon but I love it. Great ride. Word is Canyon will be getting a refurbishment. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
This ride is amazing. I personally prefer this to Popeye and Bluto because of the drop. My favorite park for water rides is definitely Disneyland but SDC is a solid second place. I also especially love Flooded Mine and Tom & Huck's RiverBlast.
Do rapids rides have block sections at all, beyond the lifts(and elevator in this case)? Only ever rode the one at my home park KI, and not since I was much younger, but I’ve always wondered that.
Im about to be controversial. I don't like this ride. the lift constantly causes it to break and the drop is not even that good. plus from everything I have heard about lost river, the cave sounded epic and the fact it was removed for a problematic lift that causes the ride to shut down that leads to a mediocre at best drop is sad.
7:19, oh the humor of what's written on the crates. 🤣
Lol
Went on this ride this past weekend, it was freezing but hey, it beats the 90 minute waits I had this summer!
Definitely!

They were calling people out the days I was at the park.
So if this has the tallest drop on a rapids ride in the world, I wonder why the park says that it's only the tallest in the Western Hemisphere.
I was confused by that too since the ride has the world record.
I mean. Even if it's not the full picture, they sure aren't wrong!

Looks so good
It's amazing.

It's excellent.
Defo my favourite rapids so far
It's elite.
Infinity falls at swo is my favorite water ride and one of my favorite ride in general. This looks even better
It is even better.
Amazing Ride
Yes it was!

Much better than that one.

This and Popeye are both elite.

Some rapids rides have gates, but I didn't see any here.
That’s what I thought I remembered! Ty!
I know this is probably a stupid question, but based on the score for this and the score for time traveler, do you actually prefer this?
I rate rides relative to their model. I prefer Time Traveler to this.
@CanobieCoaster That's a good way of doing it
Cool :)
It is.
Did you make a pie pies review?
Popeye's? Not yet.
The water cannons on this ride are truly the best part. SDC has ensured that i will spend ten dollars every visit just to soak riders to the bone.
Lol
Is this ride longer than Popeyes and Blutos? Also, which ride do you prefer, this one or Popeyes?
They feel similar in length. I prefer Popeye's slightly.
It's kinda surprising that Mystic River Falls was not built by Intamin because of its similarities to Infinity Falls.
I know!
Went on this about a year ago on a really hot day, full boat, got soaked
Makes sense!
That’s funny you can get caught with your feet up
I get why the employees do it. They don't want anyone to get hurt.
I got soaked on this in June
Not surprised.
as someone who hates water, this ride seems horrible to me 😂
It's not your friend then.

I prefer this to the original, but I really hope the park can sort out the reliability issues.
Hey there just some feedback, your voice here really lacks any passion or emphasis. Just sounds like you are reading a list to me
Thanks for the feedback. I try to avoid getting too loud because of the neighbors at my apartment.
