2 things 1. I like the stop in the middle. Because you keep spinning a bit after you stop, it's like a fun game of how you'll take the launch. The first time I ever got a backwards launch was on this ride. As always, it was exciting to see how I'd stop, but I got really scared because didn't know what it would be like, then when the voice said "ready for launch", I just braced for whatever a backwards launch could possibly be. Another time, a year later, I got a backwards diagonal launch (backwards, but turned slightly to the right), and the stop was so fun because I had no idea what that would be like. The stop gives excitement of how you'll face the launch and anticipation of how whatever orientation your car settled on will feel. Also, the diagonal backwards launch is the best way to face it because you get the feeling of launching backwards and sideways at the same time. 2. The spinning aspect makes ordinary elements extraordinary depending on how you face them. That overbanked curve after the 2nd launch would be filler on most roller coasters, but I faced it pretty much straight up, and it was honestly one of the best parts of the ride. I weas on my back, but I could feel the overbank to it because the seat was slightly inverted, so it felt vertical, but it was a tad more, and I was still going sideways and hung up there a little, and the track is basically a regular overbank, but it can be a highlight of the coaster even if it is in the end, just a filler element. After typing that all, I realized that this is literally saying that the spinning means there are no dead spots, after typing it all, I'm not deleting it all.
This is one of the most underrated coasters that made me a believer in “spin” coasters. I was not expecting much and after dozens of rides it vaulted into my top 10. The floating drop out the station in the back row is epic. Every ride is different depending on the spin. Absolutely love this ride. It’s a beauty design and does not disappoint.
I rode Time Traveler for the first time in 2020. I agree with you that it is the second best coaster in the park behind Outlaw Run and that the back 2 rows are the way to go. very reridable.
Time Traveler might just be one of the most unconventional coasters out there (along with Powder Keg for that matter). SDC does a great job with taking big risks that churn out fantastic rides.
The more I ride this, the more I like it. It's so interesting and unique, and it seems to ride different every time. And how can you not love a ride that has a 95-ft tall loop!
Time Traveler: I am the best spinning coaster ever, I have inversions, launches and even a vertical drop out of the station Rode to Happiness: That's cute
I rode this ride 4 times back in late July 2023 and I love the stop, it gives you this "calm before the storm" where you can catch your breath before going into a crazy fast paced element. This ride is amazing and easily the best experience on a coaster I have ever had in my life.
Just rode Time traveler yesterday and that hill after the loop was insane. Honestly it felt similar to railblazer' off axis hill. The moment felt most powerful when riding in the back at around 6 PM.
i got on this on the 21st of may, it was my first coaster ive ridden that has a inversion. i mainly stayed on thunderation (the coaster next to time traveler) i got row 7, and i gotta say, i was not ready for it.
Another amazing review! I heard Time Traveler doesn't have the typical Mack restraint issues (e.g. coming down immensely during the ride). That's really my only complaint about Mack's new train design.
The difference is that Time Traveler's automatic check presses down on the restraints before you're dispatched. On the other Macks, the ride forces push it down.
@@CanobieCoaster we came to the park Thursday but it was too cold and most rides were closed. Only got rides on Thunderation and Fire in the Hole. We rode Outlaw Run and TT again at the end of the day. When all the food lines were so long we found Molly’s Mill restaurant. Molly’s Mill was off the chart dining for an amusement park. It was buffet and a little pricey but NO WAIT and it was a nice way to relax from the busy park.
While it may not hold on to the title of the best extreme spinning coaster, nothing can take away it's title of world's first. I can guarantee that i'm not gonna be going to Plopsaland anytime soon, lol. So i'm glad that I still have Time Traveler so close
I’ll be fully vaccinated by Easter and plan on making a road trip from Austin to Silver Dollar City the following weekend! It will be my first trip since Covid started and I can’t wait!
Everyone loves to compare Intamin and Mack trains but I think it’s a no contest. Mack trains seem to be more accommodating for bigger riders both taller and heavier while Intamin trains have the potential to be but they fall short in important categories.
intamin just seems to have really low maximum heights for no reason, like a coaster with a minimum height req of 54 inches has no excuse to have a max of 6’3”
@@WCfanboy Still Mack trains are quite restrictive to disabled riders which I learned just recently. I strongly belive in making new rides accessible to disabled people. I'm not disabled but most disabled people have it harder than tall people to begin with.
Unlike you, I don't have an iron stomach. So I'd probably do it either at the end of the day or halfway through my visit here after riding all the other major roller coasters in the park. Either way I'd probably do it once per visit just to be on the same time.

The spinning is definitely the ride's special feature and it uses that well.

I love the variety ride to ride.
Props to SDC for being brave enough to experiment with new coaster models the last 15 years!
Absolutely!

I won't ride it anywhere but the back.

I agree. Even the one that didn't work like Buzzsaw Falls was converted into Powder Keg.
I love the theming on this and the bell that rings
The theming really accentuates the ride.

I agree. It really grows on me.
The S hill honestly deserves to be talked about more because everyone praises the drop out of the station
It's great!
Time Traveler: I am the best spinning coaster ever, I have inversions, launches and even a vertical drop out of the station
Rode to Happiness: That's cute
It can still claim it's the best for a short while.
Getting centripetal force on a launch sounds amazing
It's unique for sure.

I can't!
Looks like a very fun ride - I’m excited for the ride to happiness too!

your videos keep getting better
Thank you!
This looks like a super good ride, I have a feeling once the ride starts I’d probly think it’s my number 1

@@CanobieCoaster Don't you much prefer that over being stapled during the ride?
“The world’s first and only spinning coaster with a VERTICAL LOOP!! A 95 FOOT TALL LOOP!!!!”
At the time it was the only. Ride to Happiness and Steel Taipan have spinning cars are vertical loops too.
This coaster looks amazing to me
It is.
cool.
Very
Just took my girls on this ride Friday at a packed SDC. 2 hour wait for our first ride was well worth our first experience on it.
Glad you enjoyed it!

As my first rollercoaster, it is my favorite. Silver dollar city is my home park :)
Nice!
ill try spinning. Thats a good trick!
It would be interesting if Maurer could take their existing clonable spinning coaster layout and just put a zero g roll somewhere.
It sure would. I wonder if they'd have to redo the restraints though.

@@CanobieCoaster Should I make Outlaw Run or Time Traveller my 50th credit? 🤔
@@theheardtheorem I prefer Outlaw Run.

What scares me most is how much you crazy roller coaster freaks seem to love it
Outlaw Run is wilder.
This needs to go to dollywood.

row 7... ROW 7

I really wish Cedar Point gets one of these.
