      Brush nouveau especially frustrates me. I understand beacon on it. I understand rain on it. But in combination they just don't work. Beacon kit needed an aggro special like kraken or inkjet, and rain kit needed a pokeable bomb like splat or even auto.

    I think angle shooter is the perfect sub for bloblobber. If you're good at aiming, it helps you finish off enemies. This is especially useful for a weapon that has very low speed projectiles as it decreases the amount of dodgeable blobs you need to hit. Plus, bloblobber players seem like they'd get the hang of killing around the corner with the sub and that's kinda scary to think about. Anyways, it seems fun and I'm gonna try it out!

    I've been playing a ton of Dread Wringer and I think the thing it needs is a damage buff solely at point-blank range - as you mentioned, it is really easy to run down. If it was able to one-shot within melee range it'd be much better at dealing with pressure, and it really needs the get off me tool. It's not easy to hit one slosh when a splattershot is darting around you, so requiring it to hit three is just unwinnable. And like, you're telling me this massive amount of ink deals the same amount of damage at maximum range as if I dump it directly in someone's face?

    I legit think Ballpoint Nouveau is better than Ballpoint Vanilla.
    I really don't like Fizzy on Vanilla, I'd rather charge my gun than my bomb, and I still don't like using Inkjet even after the buffs. I remember when so many thought it was a bad kit until Inkjet got buffed and then it was everywhere. It seems to me like Vanilla is more about playing Inkjet than playing Ballpoint, and between short range paint and Fizzy it's very good at that.
    However, Nouveau feels like I'm actually playing Ballpoint. I love placing Mines ahead of me to help with short range fighting, overall it's the best weapon that currently has Mine since it can place them in more aggro positions that E-Liter won't and Rapid doesn't want to. I also really love Vac to give my team safe jumps and help push almost anything.
    Of course this is just my experience in Solo and Team Open and, at the very least, is my opinion as a Splatling player.

    Gold dynamo is better than Vdynamo in my opinion. Sure, Vdynamo has Tacticooler, but it also has sprinkler. It does not have a way to get in or apply long range pressure. Splat bomb solves both of those issues. While chump might not be the best special, it still helps the main weapon and it keeps the support aspect that Vdynamo also had

    • @chucrutedip6034
      @chucrutedip6034 Год назад

      I respectfully disagree. Sprinkler on Dynamo greatly helps its movement issues. Meanwhile, like with weapons like Dualie Squelchers and Range Blaster, a 70% ink cost bomb is somewhat hard to use when you're that ink hungry. Like, if you flick twice you can't use your sub anymore. How are you going to 'get in' with your Splat Bomb when you can only attack once before having to refill (keep in mind that Dynamo still has a billion white ink frames and has dmg consistency issues)? Also Tacticooler >>>> Super Chump, but you already covered that. I think both kits do different things, but personally it's hard for me to say one is better than the other, and that's especially true for Gold Dynamo

    I think dread wringer could legitimately get away with mist/ booyah as a kit. dread is almost closer to something like bamboo, but it trades some speed for better paint and far bigger hitboxes. mist could allow it to go for more consistency at the range it want to be at and booyah is booyah, so it could easily capitalize off even a bit of chip from booyah and force the opponent to be in far worse spots

    but for line marker, i really can't agree with "it doesn't have a sub for reliable damage". if you practice it enough, line marker is one of the _most_ reliably damaging subs. it's only limited by your aim (and corners).
    the clip at 2:50 is odd to me because blob's being portrayed as helpless, but i've been able to hit back-to-back line markers in that position. and, since the dapples stepped in enemy ink, they'd probably be splatted by marker even if they were running sub resistance

  • @Onyxs

    Based Metroid music
    Some bow players that I’ve talked with have basically said how the new kit is pretty inferior to the original which is what I’ve said. vBow has mist which while not an amazing special, sprinkler isn’t either and mist allows you to slow enemies down while picking them off with your arrows and wail, (which just got that great new buff and makes the vanilla kit even better to play). With the specials, chumps I just don’t see as being any good still even with the buff. You’re supposed to “combo with the chip damage”, but in the unlikely scenario that you hit with a chump explosion, it’s just going to kill, the timing for hitting with your arrows and a chump burst at the same time is just not happening it’s not a good point for a “combo option”. You can farm them all day, and it still won’t make a difference if they just get shredded immediately or just straight up ignored. And their only strong spot is in zones, other modes they really don’t work as well, wail is a special that can fit well into any mode. This kit really is failed potential.

      Agree it only even kind of comes close on zones, where a well placed sprinkler can be helpful painting the zone and also lure out an opponent and shoot a round of arrows at them. Even that though, the stars have to be aligned, it's not any kind of reliable

    i don’t really know how nintendo would go about implementing this, but splatoon would be so much more fun is the combat wasn’t so special-oriented; the fact that good strategy has to revolve around spamming cooler and inkjet is kinda unfun and the game would be way more healthy if it didn’t need that to play well. i think that if, universally, all PFS were increased by 50 or more special points, the game would feel more fun for like everyone, special weapons would actually feel SPECIAL, and then casual players wouldn’t see bs like full special-charge Aerospray RG or Flingza and the meta wouldn’t be so cooler heavy.

    being a die-hard Bloblobber fan (and player) myself, Blob Deco has a marker and that marker is just better off treat as Point Sensor than a combo tool. It can combo, but only if the target is stationary for long time. Despite said above, Marker can be used as a finisher if you hit 2-3 blob hits but your main weapon is way too slow up close thus you can quickly throw one to finish them off or at least mark them when you are down.
    as for Kraken, I wish it has a different special than Kraken. It sort of works but even then Ultra stamp would cover more area of denial and can long range throw which is what Blob REALLY wants over a Kraken with only melee range.

    Imho custom goober got really synergistic kit.
    Fizzy gives mobility goober desires, ultra stamp gives option if you got ambushed and also a ranged option, goober can also play around the ultra stamp to get in.
    But the thing stops it from being just viable competitively is that it's balancing is just bad

    • @sushsushsushaushfrrrrro
      @sushsushsushaushfrrrrro Год назад

      yeah, it has a synergistic kit but not on a good main, and stamp sucks because of the splattings and shooters in the meta, the other weapon kit where its on (being luneo) also struggles with these exact same things

    as a casual stringer main, its hard for me to get used to the new kit. i like the vannila kit more because i can combo toxic mist, killer wail and half charged shots on a group to get a few killsbut idk im not a pro player :)

    • @DSmith3279
      @DSmith3279 Год назад +1

      The "Kline Stringer" is still a very disappointing kit for me, even after playing with it. It's such a waste that we didn't get a kit that either improves its offense at max range or provides more defensive utility. It's just another displacement focused kit. And the only reason I'd ever consider running it over the vanilla kit is because Chumps work better in certain comps and modes.

    I feel like you could make a solid comp around just the new weapons
    Heavy Edit
    Sorrlla Brella
    Dread Wringer
    Ballpoint Nouveau
    Dread wringer gives the team a lethal bomb, is able to combo off of everything else here, as well as use reef without the cost of dying because of cooler.
    Ballpoint Nouveau is a lot more backline focused than the vanilla kit and the extra support vac gives the team is very nice as well as ballpoint being ballpoint.
    Sorella Brella is a great inkjet option that can push in farther than normal and also makes for a great partner to Dread Wringer as well as the shield giving it a little more survivability to contest points for just a little longer
    Heavy Edit is great at helping the team push up and stay up with great pressure and cooler output.
    Feel free to give me any feedback on the team as well as alter it if you want. I really enjoy trying to make teams without shooter because they can be very unique and tackle situations in different ways.

    I’m a brush main and I have been playing the new Octobrush Neauvu (yes I don’t remember how to spell Neuveau) non stop. I absolutely love it. But yeah to be fair I don’t play ranked and I could only imagine the struggle. I can actually farm storm pretty decently and I make Beakon work. I definitely wanna try it in splat zones tho.

    • @gabinmathieu6958
      @gabinmathieu6958 Год назад +1

      I'm a brush main too and I play ranked. So I tried octobrush nouveau (yes, nouveau like this) and the feeling I have playing it is like this kit actually completes the other one, it's a bit easier to handle the situation in splat zones and tower defense with beakons and ink storm. I still hate this kit due to its lack of in-fight mobility (s2 nostalgia) but it's not that bad.

    Agreed that the new kits are a mixed bag, some push their vanilla kits completely out of relevance (even if they already were) while others just don't cut it with how their main weapons are atm. Most have been quite fun casually tho, they're doing pretty well on that front with the kit design.

    I feel like they want Goo Tuber to use it’s charge hold to get up close and personal, and then retreat to charge again. With this kit I think shows that, Fizzy to create a line of paint to swim up in and Stamp to be an up close option after the shot.
    Issue- I don’t think Goo will ever play that way since it’s just a fundamentally flawed playstyle to try and encourage, I don’t see any amount of balence changes, kits, or reworks getting it to actually play that way.

  • @Me_Ko172
    @Me_Ko172 11 месяцев назад

    I think goo is in a silly spot, I picked it up while license farming my weapons. I found it really fun and it felt strong, but i think that's it's just because nobody uses it so nobody knows how to play against it. Its either that or I can just hit shots because i played a ton of vcharger in 2 and 3.
