    George is incredibly knowledgeable about amps and it is something that is missing out of the guitar players of today. In the guitar world today you can find something made somewhere that will give you what you want. What George did was kind of mad scientist his way to the amazing sound that he used in the 80s. Very few people left with the knowledge George has. I'm like a kid again listening to him talk about amps. Great video.

    George is the man. Love his Ty Tabor shout out. But I thought Ty played a Lab Series L5. He does have a very distinctive tone and can play his face off. Kings X is the shit.

    Best studio recording I ever did was using a '70s Strat into a Music Man HD130..BRILLIANT tone, no overdrive or distortion pedal, it did not NEED that, lots of gain..can't praise it enough..only better amp I've had is my current '78 JMP MkII 50w, THAT amp is big BIG sex..

    • @chrislestermusic
      @chrislestermusic 3 года назад

      I agree. Those ‘78 JMP are fantastic. Especially the 50 watters. I had a 100 watter but a buddy has a couple of the 50 watts and they are so good.

    • @Stitsel
      @Stitsel 3 года назад

      @@chrislestermusic I have a '78 JMP 50 watter also.....& it sounds so good as is, I don't even want to change the tubes that are in it.....3 different brand pre-amp tubes & that's how I bought it 13 yrs ago & it still sounds killer!Easily as good as my JVM.

    I love how he just casually says " This a Trainwreck I would use this if I was in a blues or classic rock band"

    George came into my place Surf City Amp Room to pick up an old Solid State Acousitic Amp. I did not know who he was or of his bands. He was a really nice guy we talked for some time as he used to come to Huntington Beach as a kid and we shared many memories. He said he was in Dokken I told my sister in law and she was head over heals.

    Thank you! I love George Lynch, he’s one of my heroes. He influenced my guitar playing, he’s one of the greats for sure. Gotta love that jack off vibrato he would do in his solos. Basically the last greats of the 70’s going into thev80’s L.A Rock Scene since Eddie Van Halen and Randy Rhoads are now gone. Thanks George! 👍🎸

    This is fascinating to watch - there is such a wide variety of amps I have absolutely no interest in playing. Simply not my style. But it's very interesting to view another world. I'd love to hear him articulate just exactly what characteristics each amp has, and why that particular amp drew him in.

    I got all the digital stuff and when everyone is using an AxeFX 3 or Line6 Rack unit, we kinda get the same stuff from the same IRs most of the time. Then I got some tube amps and it's easy to sound original with those Mesa, ENGL, or Laney pre's and power amps. I'm glad to see George is still experimenting and using things that have their own soul. Of course, he can afford it. Something a lot of guitarists today don't get to experience when using amp sims and modelers.

    George Lynch has been a big fan since the Dokken era. We design and produce the guitar by ourselves, and we are delighted and impressed by the unique guitar playing method and the sound that the riff is unbearable and grabs the heart. The studio at home is also fully equipped and is a great genius guitarist. George Lynch's Mr.scray's favorite song! Please continue to perform wonderful songs. I'm supporting you. ?? how do you know it wasnt an EVH under the white cover? this was only a glimpse at 20 or so he wanted to show us. If he doesnt own an EVH its not bc they're not good amps. plus majority is 20+ years old.. too much gain for me personally

    I knew a lot of players who used ADA MP-1s in the late 80s. They sounded great. They'd use either Boogie or Randall power amps. I also remember the Demeter and Groove Tube preamps of that era. Amazing tones. I dig the Park. A friend had a Park modded by Blaha that sounded incredible. Real Lynch kind of tone.

    I've seen interviews, last few years, where Lynch claims he plugs directly into the same 68 Plexi he used in the 80s, turned way up. No pedals, no other brands. Now I'm looking at this series. Similarly, I've seen Nuno say the same thing, cable into the Plexi he used in the 80s, against a Rig Rundown showing his JCM 2000 with an always-on Rat and stuff his tech has to insert and remove for specific songs. Don't get me wrong; I'm pleased as punch to see Lynch's gear room here. I'm just beyond tired of magazine articles about cork sniffing and gate keeping in the name of these same musicians.
