George is a hard rock & metal LEGEND! His lyrical and melodic guitar work with Dokken was masterclass! One of the best hard rock/metal guitarists ever. Easily in the 'top 5'.
I was 16 in 1984 so I am a product of that time period. You still had all the greats from the 70's like Gilmour and Page and Blackmore, and of course EVH, but the guy that made me pick up a guitar was Lynch. He had it all. The solid rhythm guitar with a searing lead tone, the awesome riffs, the heavy vibe and that mojo that many lacked.
It's interesting you say that, because all you have to do is listen to 5sec of someone's playing to know if they grew up in the late 70's, and 80's. If you're a passionate guitar player and have those players as your influence, then chances are you're a stellar player. And, they're getting harder and harder to find, unfortunately.... Lynch, Schon, EVH, DiMartini, Meniketti... That's all a grown boy needs (well, that and a Marshall) 🤘🎸
"He had it all. The solid rhythm guitar with a searing lead tone, the awesome riffs, the heavy vibe and that mojo that many lacked." And he was still only third place in LA. Then Yngwie came along
I saw Dokken as a opening act on theirTooth and Nail tour in the late 80's, George was on FIRE 🔥 He was every bit as good as Edward & Randy....His solo was incredible...
This was a real treat. I’ve always admired this guy, from the early days. Here, in his element, showing us how he finds inspiration, demonstrating every facet. Lucky me.
Two days ago I began to play in a new band. The other players asked me my influences because they liked the way I play. George Lynch appeared instantly. Thanks George!!!!
George Lynch has been a big fan since the Dokken era. We design and produce the guitar by ourselves, and we are delighted and impressed by the unique guitar playing method and the sound that the riff is unbearable and grabs the heart. The studio at home is also fully equipped and is a great genius guitarist. George Lynch's Mr.scray's favorite song! Please continue to perform wonderful songs. I'm supporting you. Setagaya.Saburo 🌈🎸🤟
Hi George, I grew up in the San Gabriel Valley. We most likely share some mutual friends. I'm watching as I write this. Very enjoyable. I believe I saw you playing at The Woodsound in Monrovia back in the late seventies/early eighties. I remember you sounding really good back then. As I remember, you were blowing through a Musicman stack. I think I saw you in the band "Wolfgang" also (please correct me if I'm wrong) at M.S.A.C. College. Anyway, kudos to you for all your accomplishments and for being a great player.
It's awesome hearing George Lynch playing some Leslie West style blues rock riffs at the beginning part of this video (when he's demonstrating the Klon & TS pedals). Sounds so incredibly cool.
George was great and is now gone way beyond that. Such an inspiring player. Having said that, I've gotta comment on the "kRon" typo 'cause it's just too stereotypically funny being this a Japanese program...
George. The best man ! Got a chance to talk to him on the phone about his guitars he makes. He was so cool and literally talked to me for 45 min. He was a childhood hero to me and I was elated to chat about guitars with him. I plan to build a guitar with him. The guy is as Classy and cool as they come. Thx George. Mr Fuckin Scary. Legendary!
There is only 1 guy that sounds like George, and that is George. Totally original. There is something mystical about his playing, the fire and the angst he can bring to the instrument. Such expressiveness, it is insane. George could pick up a Hello Kitty guitar and it would still sound like him. I used to tell me wife "If George has breasts, I would have married him instead of you". Of course that didn't go over well, and we are currently divorced... LOL At times, Warren Dimartini sounds a little like George, but I think it is mainly the, as George termed it in an interview "jack-off vibrato". LOL. I would be interested to know their history and where/when/how they crossed paths. There is a story in there, I am sure.... Did anyone else hate Ozzy for the way he and Sharon treated George when he went on the road with Ozzy as the new guitarist, that never happened? I know I did. I mean, I still love Ozzy, but as a person, for both him and Sharon, I lost total respect. Love the music, dislike the persons.... Long Live Mr Scary
His tone got furrier and muckier over the years. I prefer the raw in-your-face presence of the marshal tones he was getting in his earlier days. Less saturation, more bite: ruclips.net/video/JE53YbDMdbI/видео.html
@@rokinrandy Wolf had a company make him a scaled back very small in size. He used it I believe the most recent was Teutonic Terror which is the best comeback album I personally have ever heard he uses it in the main lead of the song he is standing on a tank playing the solo and first he uses the Mutron then he steps on the wah and uses it and it sounds so good.
@@mikejelinek1413 Did he use it on the actual song metal heart. Like on the intro. There’s a lot of pedals that can be made diy like centaur rather than paying 5 grand. Or some of the old fuzz pedals. Even new. And Some pre amps and what not .I haven’t found anything on that one yet. Guess the demand ain’t big enough.
@@rokinrandy I think he has used it more live than on the actual recording of the song Metal Heart. I know that there is a video out the with Wolf showing this new pedal that makes that Mutron sound for him now. I'll see if I can find it.
Fantastic video… THANK YOU. I must say in criticism that it is unforgivable that you didn’t take a microphone feed off his studio mixer and record his amplifier speaker for this presentation … big mistake 🥲
Check out the Catl Martin Octa-switch "The Stripp" amazing true bypass pedal switcher which is simple to prpgram has built in buffer for long cable runs (dimple on or off switch) and can control 2 amps with or without dual channels. Can also run 4 cable midi. Solves so many problems. And makes everythimg sound better.
Yes, You are Mr. George Lynch the guy who dislikes the Dream Warriors track according to Don Dokken. I want to know why, and I want to hear it from you directly. That's important to me as a guitarist and a fan.
I've always been very curious as to how that would've sounded. I doubt they would've lasted very long togther (probably about as long as Jake did), but i think it would've been great. You'd get the darker side of George's playing. Which is always a good thing. Back For The Attack era Lynch playing with Ozzy would've been amazing! However, then we would've been deprived of Jake's best work and deprived of Dokken which are two things the world is much better off for having existed.
Just the essentials, just the basics. Yeah George. I've got two if you count the on-off foot switch. You have eleven. But then my "tour" consists of sitting on the edge of my bed, or standing next to it. Just the basics.
Also -I think the Late , Great Dimebag Darrell, guitarist extraordinaire , made the whammy pedal famous too. I believe he is much better than tom morello , whom is just ok .
Hey whats up lynch my name is Chris I’m a totally blind guitarist as well i play some Dokken as well like alone again also i have a zoom g1xon but can’t figure out how to hook it up
Anybody that you know of ever record their bass tracks with that whammy pedal 👶🎤🙏, you ever put that whammy pedal on a looper as bass octave 👶🎤🙏,, me want one now

When Randy joined Ozzy, he asked George to be his replacement as an guitar instructor at Musonia. He really liked George’s style.
Tooth and nail was 84 . Late 80s would've been back for the attack
A living legend...I've always loved his playing style and he's a funny dude

Yeah,he's really a sharp guy.. 🤘🤘he knows his stuff for sure
How do you have this much time to spend with the dude in a recording studio of all places and still fail to get a direct line of his guitar audio?
I agree!!!
90% of guitar reveiws lol
I saw dokken with Aerosmith in the 80s great band George is great
Love seeing the Traynor Bassmaster above the Soldano head.
