  • The Pattullo Bridge is a through arch bridge spanning the Fraser River, connecting the cities of New Westminster and Surrey in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia. Named in honor of Thomas Dufferin Pattullo, the 22nd Premier of British Columbia, it serves as a vital link between Surrey and the rest of Greater Vancouver. The bridge was inaugurated on November 15, 1937, by Premier "Duff" Pattullo, with a construction cost of $4 million. Initially, the bridge had a toll of 25¢ per crossing, which was removed in 1952. The Pattullo Bridge measures 1,227 meters (4,026 feet) in length and features four lanes, two in each direction. In this video you can also see 1) the previous bridge, now referred to as the New Westminster Rail Bridge, repurposed for rail use only and 2) A replacement bridge that is currently under construction and is scheduled for completion in Fall 2025.

Three generations of the same crossing in one video - how great is that to see. Will we see one of the new Pattullo once it's done?
