Some of you may think this video is sponsored by Pepsi. I must clear up these allegations. While I may not be able to distinguish between "three" and "free", I do know that we must be free and able to make the content we want, when we want, which is difficult when corporate interests get involved. It's always been important for me that there's no external influence, and that we're free to say whatever we want. The channel is not unlike Pepsi Max, which provides the same maximum Pepsi taste you love, free of sugar!
So I had to do some brief research, because I remember playing Kings Field on the PS1. But apparently what I played was Kings Field II, that was retitled as Kings Field for the US release to avoid confusion.
Hey, you nailed it with the pronunciation, it's AH KON KA WA... Aconcagua is a very famous mountain in my country, Argentina. In fact, it's the highest mountain in America (America the continent, not usa haha)... Currently i'm living in Tokyo and I'm looking for that game, it would be nice to bring that game home... Love your videos about psx!!!
Remote Control Dandy - You control a giant robot, and you fight other giant robots in a destructible city. However you do it from the perspective of a human with a remote control for the robot. If this sounds like Robot Alchemic Drive for the PS2, that's because it's by the same developer and has exactly the same idea. There's an English fan patch available. Then there are the various Macross and Gundam games that were never released outside of Japan. Unfortunately, fan translators avoid these like the plague. I'm not sure why. They'll translate arcade games where the text doesn't even matter, and they'll translate RPGs with hundreds of pages of text, but they won't translate Macross and Gundam games.
Kinda funny that since in my country (Iran) there never was any official release of any console, We would get bootleg/clone consoles back in the day and most NES (Famiclone consoles) or Sega Megadrive/Genesis and PS1 disc games we got were Japanese versions since most of these clone consoles were coming from Taiwan and PS1 pirate discs were hot in Taiwan and South East Asia, With PS1 games there were mod chips and we got mostly US releases but we still got to enjoy otherwise Japan exclusive games like Pepsiman or the definitive version of ISS Pro 98 called Winning Eleven 3 Final Version or Tekken 3 J which has a different ending for Anna Williams and so on, These games were massively popular among gamers at the time too! Since most of us had no to very limited knowledge of english language it made no difference to play japanese versions of NES/Megadrive games since we wouldn’t understand anything anyway and thankfully both Tekken and Winning Eleven had English menus (WE3 had main menu in English but most menus were japanese) and we would learn how to play or navigate the menus of all those older games with trial and error and we enjoyed them all too, although without understanding most of the story lol. Sorry for the long comment, Just thought someone might find it interesting, Retro/Older consoles are the best and have the greatest games so keep on playing them and show them to the newer generations of kids so they know great games don’t need to have realistic graphics and crazy resolutions and 120fps to be enjoyable.
Who's saying Square Soft's Racing Lagoon? Just started playing a fan translation > its good and interesting, very poetic sort of RPG + Racing game, slight open world/world map vibes. Load times are killer tho
@@CulturedVultures 😐😑😐 Yes. I still play it using emulators alongside with other titles such as Tekken 3, CTR, WWF smackdown 2, Driver 2, Winning Eleven 3, Road Rush, and Harvest Moon (which also has a japanese version that i used to play. But the main character is a girl). Pepsiman is like a cult game. There are several fan made Pepsiman games on all other Sony consoles.
@@CulturedVultures ofcourse! What other choice do we have? When there is a demand, there will be market for it. So if you ban or prohibit a group of people from official markets, there will be unofficial markets as a consequence. And in this case, we cannot complain 😂

And it all goes well with bourbon!
Fact Check: In 2:27, Snatcher was released in the West on the Sega CD, not the Sega Saturn.

Yep! There's a lot of stuff like this, Clock Tower is a total head scratcher too
The beginning of #10 made a perfect segue into a commercial for Hankook tires, which made me laugh. It’s the little things.
Tons of RPGs have never left Japan
And Sony left Japan with all the publishers shutting down with it
@@Ghostlynotme445 I know and have all from from 1980-Now enjoy life
Thankfully some of the great ones got some pretty good fanmade English patches tho!💖

You directed the ad! That’s fantastic! Also, that sort of reveals your age a bit. I was a child when Twin Peaks came out… Great Stuff!
This was a fun watch! I was super excited to see what you guys were going to come up with.
Love this one, great work guys!
Ore no Ryouri is one of my favorite japanese only games. I only played it on a Jampack demo disc in the Imports section. Great fun cooking game.
God, I hope ALL of the Growlanser games get rereleased someday, and come over here, as well.

the one thing harder than a rick flair flop...is his turnbuckle flip flop lol.
Love it. The ps1 is my favorite console.

Lucky for us, we didn't play these games! ;-)
Correct me if i am wrong but i think the PS1 has more JP exclusive Games than any other playstation console systems of all generations right?
Not getting that Tiny Toons game is making me unreasonably angry.
I know, it looks so good!
I really wished those games came to the west!!! 😭

thanks, dude!
@@CulturedVultures you're welcome, man!:)

Upvote for the perfect Timed Ric Flair flop joke. Woo! 😂
Well nowadays with emulation and fan translations luckily almost all of those games are playable maybe even in English 👍
I'd love to play Magatama (Xbox) in English
u reply to the comment ? 🤨
Yes.
Of course the US didn’t get Pepsiman, we’re a Coke nation.
Actually, Columbia is a Coke nation.
Pepsi Man was awful
