Looks good now, but unfortunately it will probably fill back in quickly. Historically, the open pass(es) ran northward, almost along the beach before emptying into the gulf. I’m frequently wrong, but I believe the that shape was important, and a straight exit to gulf will fill in naturally.
Well, thanks for pissing on our parade. I hope, as you admitted, you are again frequently wrong. I mean, WHO would need even a small bit of good news these days? Party pooper.
Hopefully with the high and low tides daily it'll keep pulling sand in and out of the pass to dig it a little deeper over time. Will be interesting to see how it looks in a month or two
Of course the people that closed it off never made new passes to help offset their closing of Midnight pass. Both original property owners that did that are now deceased. It's sad that it took 2 different Hurricanes one being a Direct hit from a Category 3 to have this problem fixed.
Yes! Thanks for getting out there asap to share
Great job guys. Makes my gulf ride less than 5 minutes. No more hour haul from Osprey.
Epic shots. Thanks!
AWESOMENESS!!!!
It's looking really good! hopefully, it keeps going.
Glad you are ok. As a state we sure haven't been spared much with the storms.
Love your shirt!
@@josephpuglisi7981 it’s my helping friendly shirt
That’s great news I hope it stays open

It should be left alone. If nature wants to open it it will

Nature wants that pass reopened. Closing it off in the 1980’s has killed shrimp, oysters and most of the manatee grasses.

Hope it stays open. It closed up a bit after Helene
Didnt see it with the houseboat in the beginning, but did Casey Key Fish House survive?
@@chris_dbl_oh7 the Fish House and Tiki bar are still there, but they got flooded pretty badly by Helene.
Back to its natural form. Waiting for someone to show stump pass in Englewood
