It's more like seeing him as a fatherly ancient figure, the Master of Mankind, the creator of their kind, while their respective Primarch as primogenitor is both father and older brother to each of them. With some Chapters its outright worship and faith, but for many it's mainly admiration and loyalty, a great respect and pride in ones elders and founders. With the Sisters, it's definitely blind faith and complete and total worship and the God of all gods.

Honestly I wouldn't say the Sisters of Battle were mad for wanting to destroy everything. It's the only rational reaction one can have to the absolute mess that Soulstorm's story was.
I mean, the Sisters of Battles are called "space nuns with guns" but are anything except that. Their hate of heresy is unfathomable and their pursue for the destruction of the damned is relentless.
I'd actually like to see this ending made canon, if only because the Sisters never EVER win. Even the Grey Knights kill them wantonly. It'd be a nice change of pace.

But the taint of the warp manifests itself in a more brutish way as well, of course, and the dark powers of Chaos cultists are some sort of psy as well. It's no surprise they see it as their holy duty to act on Kaurava. Whilst surely not travelling across the galaxy for such a campaign, they will react if something happens in the vicinity of one of their monasteries or ecclesiarchal starships.
I just found the tidbits of fluff and short stories you can access by checking the "archives" button for each province in the campaign map. Granted, the developers should have made this more obvious, but a logical story is there. Apparently, the Sisters were indeed present in the Kaurava system on "Ordo Hereticus business", as it says in one of these texts. The Imperial Guard is suspected of heresy/treason and the Blood Ravens for impurity.

And with a good enough leader, you bet they could beat the Space Marines. Not all the time obviously and not without heavy losses, but it's there. Look up Lord Solar Macharius, see how far the IG can go.

Why they would do so, given that in DC the Ravens are so touchy about their relics and in SS they are under suspicion, and why the Sisters would raise arms against Daemonhunters is another topic entirely.. Nothing about them is anywhere equal to a Space Marine, except their super fucking annoying zealotry. In the lore, the only reason the SoB weren't annihilated in the siege of the Imperial Palace, was because the Space Marines didn't even know they were there. So yeah, they're shoe-horned quasi-Space Marines with literally nothing going for them.
If space Marines fought the IG head on they would either lose or suffer casualties they can't replace quickly, but that isn't how they fight there like our moden day special forces they hit crucial areas and destory them then retreat.

I think newhoped explained it best: head on, the Space Marines would likely lose or earn a Pyrrhic victory at best. The standard IG tactic of drowning the enemy with bodies mostly works because there's literally billions and billions of Guardsmen. There's just over 1 million SM and they don't have nearly the amount of artillery and armor(tanks) the IG do. They're superhuman, not invincible. And some regiments are renowned for toughness. The SM are smart, they would avoid head-on confrontation
There's a 1000 chapters with a 1000 marines in each so in theory theres roughly a million marines in the Imperium. If marines and IG fought on the IG terms theyed do what guard do best and slowly grind the marines down with numbers, each marine may kill 20-30 guard before they die the diffrence is that the guardmans can be replace quickly where as the marine would take 15-20years to replace.
The Sisters of Battle have the most number of detector units: the Missionary, Holy Icon, Death-Cult Assassin, Avenging Angels and the Confessor. Infantry disruption compliments from Exorcists, Sisters Repentia Squads and Living Saint. Morale restoration from Seraphim Squads and Laud Hailers. The downside? Too many to mention.

I think its just 30,000 sisters of battle, but there are other 'sisters' that are not of combat roles. Theyre basically just nuns who serve the empire through the temples and churches.
A battlesister wears power armour, while a IG only wears his most beloved shirt to battle. Also, SoB carry bolters, while IG only shoot with laser pointers.
That depends on one's individual preference, I'd say. Personally, I am quite content with seeing an "underdog" army such as the Sisterhood making their appearance here.
The problem with 'purity control' is that it's not just down to the 'purity of gene-seed' that determins a Chaos taint. Look at the Emperors Children for example. At the point of the Horus Heresy theirs was probably THE most pure thanks to their ethos yet they became one of the most twisted and depraved Chaos Legions.
Basically the Space Marines since they're made up of the same genetic material as the God-Emperor but they dishonored themselves during the Horus Heresy. The Sisters were founded long after that and was used by Vandire until they were enlightened by the Emperor himself. The Sisters of Battle have their Acts of Faith and Living Saints as proof of their relentless and untiring devotion while the Space Marine's finesse and strength makes the Imperium's super-soldiers.
There is no such thing as a weak grey knight since they got through 666 trials in order to prove that they are worty and strong enough to fight against the deamonic forces of Chaos. FOR THE EMPEROR!!!
there are 5 acts of faith that have there own special rules and work differently ,but you have a thing call faith points that you get from having faithful units and when u use an act of faith for a sqd it costs 1 faith point and you roll 2 dice and you either have to roll equal to or higher or lower depending on which faith power it is. hand of the emperor gives u +2 strength strike at I1, divine guidance piereces armor of troops on 6's, passion +2 I, light of emp. fearless, spirit-invul = armor
They are more than hundreds of years old. They are over 10,000 years old. Well 10,000 years ago they broke off from the Emperor and Imperium so even then they are older.
The Sisters of Battle are a great race. They have a great advantage, because some races think that they're easy to kill just because they're women. They have powerful units (in fact, a Battlesister is stronger than an IG in the game). AND,dear rba718, Space Marines, and IG also do the same Exterminatus orders (well, they really hate heretics:D).

I do agree with WildRaven, but, humans have the most armies in general, and they have introduced almost all the other races. Actually, I think they have intoduced all of them... but each of the human factions has a different angle. SM = power; IG = numbers; Sisters = faith. It's like comparing three alien races - they're all aliens but they have different traits to follow. *shrug* That's how I see it. And yes, technacily the SM would avenge their bothers deaths. I think newhoped explained it best: head on, the Space Marines would likely lose or earn a Pyrrhic victory at best. The standard IG tactic of drowning the enemy with bodies mostly works because there's literally billions and billions of Guardsmen. There's just over 1 million SM and they don't have nearly the amount of artillery and armor(tanks) the IG do. They're superhuman, not invincible. And some regiments are renowned for toughness. The SM are smart, they would avoid head-on confrontation

There's a 1000 chapters with a 1000 marines in each so in theory theres roughly a million marines in the Imperium.
If marines and IG fought on the IG terms theyed do what guard do best and slowly grind the marines down with numbers, each marine may kill 20-30 guard before they die the diffrence is that the guardmans can be replace quickly where as the marine would take 15-20years to replace.

The Sisters of Battle have the most number of detector units: the Missionary, Holy Icon, Death-Cult Assassin, Avenging Angels and the Confessor. Infantry disruption compliments from Exorcists, Sisters Repentia Squads and Living Saint. Morale restoration from Seraphim Squads and Laud Hailers. The downside? Too many to mention.

I think its just 30,000 sisters of battle, but there are other 'sisters' that are not of combat roles. Theyre basically just nuns who serve the empire through the temples and churches.

A battlesister wears power armour, while a IG only wears his most beloved shirt to battle.
Also, SoB carry bolters, while IG only shoot with laser pointers.

That depends on one's individual preference, I'd say. Personally, I am quite content with seeing an "underdog" army such as the Sisterhood making their appearance here.

The problem with 'purity control' is that it's not just down to the 'purity of gene-seed' that determins a Chaos taint. Look at the Emperors Children for example. At the point of the Horus Heresy theirs was probably THE most pure thanks to their ethos yet they became one of the most twisted and depraved Chaos Legions.
Basically the Space Marines since they're made up of the same genetic material as the God-Emperor but they dishonored themselves during the Horus Heresy. The Sisters were founded long after that and was used by Vandire until they were enlightened by the Emperor himself. The Sisters of Battle have their Acts of Faith and Living Saints as proof of their relentless and untiring devotion while the Space Marine's finesse and strength makes the Imperium's super-soldiers.
There is no such thing as a weak grey knight since they got through 666 trials in order to prove that they are worty and strong enough to fight against the deamonic forces of Chaos. FOR THE EMPEROR!!!

there are 5 acts of faith that have there own special rules and work differently ,but you have a thing call faith points that you get from having faithful units and when u use an act of faith for a sqd it costs 1 faith point and you roll 2 dice and you either have to roll equal to or higher or lower depending on which faith power it is. hand of the emperor gives u +2 strength strike at I1, divine guidance piereces armor of troops on 6's, passion +2 I, light of emp. fearless, spirit-invul = armor
They are more than hundreds of years old. They are over 10,000 years old. Well 10,000 years ago they broke off from the Emperor and Imperium so even then they are older.
The Sisters of Battle are a great race. They have a great advantage, because some races think that they're easy to kill just because they're women.
They have powerful units (in fact, a Battlesister is stronger than an IG in the game).
AND,dear rba718, Space Marines, and IG also do the same Exterminatus orders (well, they really hate heretics:D).

@fallenvash Not that i know of, although i know the System of Ultramar do maintain active gaurd regiments. (See Graham Mcneil's Ultramarines System) As in, they are actually shipped out and fight in active battlefields.
I do agree with WildRaven, but, humans have the most armies in general, and they have introduced almost all the other races. Actually, I think they have intoduced all of them... but each of the human factions has a different angle. SM = power; IG = numbers; Sisters = faith. It's like comparing three alien races - they're all aliens but they have different traits to follow. *shrug* That's how I see it.
And yes, technacily the SM would avenge their bothers deaths.

there is 9 legions of space marines. there is probably bout 25-45 chapter in each legion, and 10 squads of 10 in each chapter.
I hope the Sisters will appear in Dawn of War 3 and they will fight alongside with the IG and the Blood Ravens.

Hopes the Sisters will be involved in the Necron DLC due to the Blood Ravens and local IG in the area pretty much suffering casualties to the point they are combat ineffective.

Exactly what I said. The Sister's latest update was a mess. The rules were broken and crappy, and Ward brutally mutilated the fluff. I could run through the list, but it may take up more than one comment. So pretty much just read 1d4chan's article on the Sisters and you'll get the picture.
