Sisters' power come from morale damage. Once you remove a unit's morale, the enemy squad can't retaliate. You upgrade 5 flamers, it produces high morale damage and you can slaughter the squad with impunity. The walker unit (forgot it's name) is suppose the second strongest unit, next to the Living Saint. Use them as damage dealers while pinning them down with morale damage and you can win. (Except for where morale is not applicable. Then you just use normal attacks, and flamers still do damage.)
4 relics that grant invincibility. I really feel like the 'relics' in this universe are like the one-time-use boosts that grant you bonusses in videogames, where no one uses them for they are simply too precious, even if it would save your entire race on that planet. \_/^^\_/ Gotta admit though, I'd propably do the same.
"I have yet to find a cinder that was not faithful in its praise to the Emperor." ...is maybe the scariest line in all of DoW 1: here's one who thinks they're on the right side yet wants to turn the galaxy (up to and including the Imperium of Man) into charcoal. Only the silent necrons come close to this worldview...
2:08 Ha Ha watch the Exorist. It just slides to the side. I think a crab was driving it. Though who could blame it. Probably knew the tank up front was a danger to everyone concerned. Wouldn't want their precious organ of death to catch fire :D
@BerserkerJohn She is someone who has died but the emperor brought her back. The emperor isn't just some random object of praise that the sisters of battle pray to, he actually does protects them and these are manifested in the acts of faith. There is also some sort of psychic power that is connected to it but its different that the power that chaos uses.
@QueenAbominae14344 all space marines are seperate factions that are self-governing and have limited authority in terms of marshal law. Sisters of Battle are the order miltant of the Ordo Hereticus which means they are the fighting arm and our required to answer an hereitcus inquistors quests immediately. Witch Hunters and Ordo Hereticus are the same thing.

Selena : We have lost the Inviolable Aura, sisters. But we still stand as the Emperor's purifiers ! End : Selena : It is time for these xenos creatures to die ! Burn them to the last !!!
@Lathox I debate to that. Adeptus Custodes brought Alicia Dominica right before the Golden Throne, in front of the Emperor himself. Although we do not know what took place there, it is very obvious that the Emperor knew what was happening. If the Sisters claimed they are the Emperor's Chosen, their Acts of Faith are the basis of their claim.
It's weird. Apparently they have real powers yet they are not psykers. It's suggested they really are blessed by the Emperor, who is slowly evolving into a true Warp god.
I'm sorry, but it just doesn't hold a candle to "Enemies of the Imperium, hear me. You have come here to die. The Immortal Emperor is with us and we are invincible. His soldiers will strike you down. His warmachines will crush you under their treads. His mighty guns will bring the very sky crashing down upon you. You cannot win."
@Lathox That's not ignorance. The Adepta Sororitas never ever question the Ecclesiarchy's dogma and they also respect martyrdom. The more of them die, the stronger they get. Adeptus Astartes are solely dedicated to their Chaptermaster's orders. They're like the Imperium's version of God, Gold and Glory. The Imperial Guard are being bullied in Soulstorm. It's like, "They'll kill us anyway so might as well stand our ground." Give me liberty or give me death.
@Airganoth I hate to be contrary, but you're wrong. The Orders Militant of the Ordo Hereticus are an all-female branch of the Ordo Hereticus. Only female orphans are accepted into their ranks - just like with the Sisters Hospitaller, etc. They may fight alongside males and even include males in their standing forces - if the ecclesiarchy demands it - but they are still an all-female sub-faction. Furthermore, 'Witch Hunter' is simply a colloquial term that refers to Inquisitors; not Sisters.
@HanDynasty26349 Of course. Iron Lore conveniently forgot to make units of the Ordo Hereticus. They conveniently forgot that the Sisters are also the militant arm of the Witchhunters.
Dialogues between Captain Indrick Boreale and Canoness Selena Agna during the Sisters of Battle Stronghold Boreale: Canoness Agna! This is your last chance. We conquer this world under the authority of the Chapter Master of the Blood Ravens. Withdraw your Battle Sisters to orbit and our conflict can still end peacefully. Agna: I have my authority and martyrdom for the Inquisition and I have the utmost capability to cede my crusade with your Space Marines, Captain Boreale. But my orders are explicit and the Ecclesiarchy came to my command. I cannot withdraw. Boreale: Then the time for talk, is over. End Agna: These heretical Space Marines have defiled our holy grounds, Sisters! They stood our ground against the Emperor's holy will! Boreale: I will not be called a heretic and a traitor, Canoness! Agna: You will not defeat me yet, Blood Raven.
Despite their unreasonable cost, Acts of Faith really is strong. Even you people out there have to admit it. Acts of Faith: Emperor's Touch lay waste any race's war machines (except Baneblade and Land Raider) with small shots. Acts of Faith: Divine Retribution is ideal for returning some damage to enemies. Acts of Faith: Ascension summons my favorite Avenging Angels!!! P.S. Don't mind me here...
Once again I agree to that. However with most alliances are built out of convenience instead of permanence, most of it provide both parted with the opportunity to gather information about the enemy and further weaken them in battle scenes.
@QueenAbominae14344 yes, it did count all of them... 1000 space marines versus the world. this included necrons, tau, imperial guard (who misinterpreted what the emporers orders were), chaos, orks, and eldar.
Wolves are a totally different case. They're part of the Adeptus Astartes/Space Marines which are an entirely different branch from the rest of the listed above. They're one of the many chapters that existed and are one of the original 20 legions of Space Marines founded when the Emperor was still around and kicking.
@dragonstormx yh i thought as much; from what i can tell they're just a whole army of scout marines (only better) in the respect that they both use bolters and other marine weapons, and they wear heavy armour. As you say, the main difference is the fact that marines are genetically enhanced, whereas the sisters of battle make up for their lack of enhancements with fanatic devotion. this is all, of course, my interpretation...
@Airganoth Even then, the Ordo Hereticus doesn't really field armies except for armies unaffiliated Imperial armies they request - demand - to follow their lead, but they don't really have any armies of their own - except for the Order Militant of the Adeptus Sororitas. They do have specialized troops, like Inquisitorial Stormtroopers and the like, but they don't really have their own armies at beck and call. Of course they have men in the organization, but they don't have 'armies' of men.
There's also another way called the Acclamation by Adoration which happens if all Sisters, as if inspiration by the holy Emperor, say one Sisters name, aloud, anonymously, loudly and simultaneously.
All I can say is, Hell hath no fury like a woman's scorn. Or in this case, Orkz, Necrons, Eldar, and others have not seen fire like the Sisters of Battle.
It was: Thule "Alien witch, you despoil our chapel with your presence" Taldeer "Your emperor is a illusion human, I can hardly blaspheme against something that isn't divine" Thule "You dare!" Taldeer "Unless you pray to something els all together from the ruined temple."
So, in the end the Sisters were right, and the Imperial Guard was in fact under the influence of Chaos...but still, kind of stupid that they were so extreme towards their own allies.
Orks in power armor? Two words: SPOOO--KKYYY!!! *shivers* If that is so, I can imagine the Space Wolves as being outcasts from the rest of the Chapters since this one is freely flirting with xenos entities.
@jakoson7 not quite .the inquisiton cant have ''men under arms'' so they took sob.and the imperium realised that altought this broke the agreement, they had to have somekind of armed force so they let them.
They're somewhere in between the Space Marines and Imperial Guard in terms of soldier strength and numbers. They use power armor like the Space Marines, but don't have their genetic enhancements. So you're pretty much on the money.
High morale damage is a bit overstating it, but that's the general idea. They specialize in morale damage, like flamers. Anything to do with fire is morale damage.
“I would see this sector rebuilt, free of heretics, mutants and… and zealots!” Vance “The Mance” Stubbs. I’m having fun with soulstorm so far but MAN, this woman was off her rocker crazy. Blood Ravens, I get it. They acted out of turn on Kronus and (ultimately) were playing the Traitor’s hand. But the IG regiment sent to reclaim the sector? Tomfoolery for sure.
Um yes I pulled it out of knowledge. Chaos is Warp and the Warp is incomprehensible to Necrons which is why they hate it more than anything and it's actually been theorised that the Tyranids are being controlled by a C'Tan. That was me pointing out the benefits of "co-operation" I didn't say they actually did it.
This was a cunt of a mission for the Imperial Guard on Hardest. Legit took hours to knock this one over. But thankfully with heavily artillery and tanks and lots of bodies the might of the Imperium won through.
Since you're going all out. A million Battle Sister squads all with Missionaries attached, three Sister Repentia squads with a Canoness and a Confessor, six Death-Cult Assassins, seven Celestian squads, seven Seraphim squads, two Exorcists, two Penitent Engines and four Immolators and oh a Living Saint. And one unlimited Faith points.
Well I think the Space Marines and the Imperial Guard are more than prone to aligning themselves with xenos races because it really happened in most Dawn of War stories. If the Space Wolves are a unique Chapter all by themselves, I wonder why they're not the featured race in the games version...
Not necessarily. Fire also means area-of-effect damage. That's what I observed in the Sister's weaponry. You'd be surprised that Emperor's Touch, Divine Retribution and Avenging Angels have area-of-effect damage on enemy units. Try it. It's more convenient than flamers, I wager.

Any step closer, and we will not hesitate to burn your troops to ash and cinder. Sturnn: I have my own orders too, Canoness. Sturnn: Ready yourselves, men! There is no retreat now!
The IG have Priests that belong to the same faction and the IG commanders have personal Confessors. I never understood the conflict of interest there. Why would a Priest lead troops in battle against Battle Sisters?
@@Agent1W the idea is well explained in the fact that the Sisters of Battle are so fanatical in their belief that they are sure nothing is untainted in the Kaurava system, Imperial Guards included. About priests against priests, dogmas and beliefs are extremely different from planet to planet which can justify any battle between members of the ecclesiarchy: what a planet consider holy, for example a rite to worship the emperor involving a offer of rich food and precious luxuries, is seen as heretical/profane/etherodoxy by another planet, maybe even a neighbouring one.
Yeah, right. Like that would stand a chance against six Space Marine squad attached with Apothecaries, an Assault Terminator Squad with a Force Commander, a Grey Knight Squad with a Chaplain and a Terminator Squad with a Librarian.

"I have yet to find a cinder that was not faithful in it's praise of the Emperor."
"Sister, what is that?"
"I don't know sister, looks like a big tank"
Guardsman: "IT IS THE BANEBLADE!!!"
SPESS MEHREENS TODEH TEH ENEMEH IS AT OUR DOAR!
You can just bet that Bishop is having her way with the space nuns.
Tyranids invasion against the SoB stronghold
Selena : Sisters !!! The Tyranids are here. Burn them to ashes and make sure everythings of them dissapear before the Emperor's holy light !!!
SoB : For the Sisterhood ! For the God-Emperor !
Attack against the shrines :
St.Anaïs : Come to me monsters !!! You will burn at the touch of my blade, Great Devourer !!!
Selena : Sisters, the Swarm is near our shrines ! Support the Living Saint with holy fire !
Destruction of the Shrines :
St.Anaïs : My shrines ! They have destroyed my holy shrines !
Selena : We have lost the Inviolable Aura, sisters. But we still stand as the Emperor's purifiers !
End :
Selena : It is time for these xenos creatures to die !
@Andri474 - So is the Avatar of Khaine. Technically, they ARE creatures born of the Warp, but yes I love the irony too
Furthermore, 'Witch Hunter' is simply a colloquial term that refers to Inquisitors; not Sisters.
my first thought when i got to this stronghold, 'this is one big kitchen'?
@HanDynasty26349 Of course. Iron Lore conveniently forgot to make units of the Ordo Hereticus. They conveniently forgot that the Sisters are also the militant arm of the Witchhunters.
Dialogues between Captain Indrick Boreale and Canoness Selena Agna during the Sisters of Battle Stronghold
Boreale: Canoness Agna!
End
Agna: These heretical Space Marines have defiled our holy grounds, Sisters! They stood our ground against the Emperor's holy will!
Boreale: I will not be called a heretic and a traitor, Canoness!
Agna: You will not defeat me yet, Blood Raven.
Wait...It is just the Dark Crusade dialogs between Thule and Alexanders !!!
History repeats itself ! x)
Canoness Selena's voice is pure badassery :3
LOOK A SAINT, BOW DOWN!
...
*vroom vroom* in background
...
Once again I agree to that. However with most alliances are built out of convenience instead of permanence, most of it provide both parted with the opportunity to gather information about the enemy and further weaken them in battle scenes.
@QueenAbominae14344 yes, it did count all of them... 1000 space marines versus the world. this included necrons, tau, imperial guard (who misinterpreted what the emporers orders were), chaos, orks, and eldar.
that does explain the giant open air furnace they cook themselves in when they lose
Wolves are a totally different case. They're part of the Adeptus Astartes/Space Marines which are an entirely different branch from the rest of the listed above. They're one of the many chapters that existed and are one of the original 20 legions of Space Marines founded when the Emperor was still around and kicking.
Six Battle Sister Squad all with Missionaries attached, two Sister Repentia Squads with a Canoness and a Confessor, two Seraphim Squads.
The CC captions are legendary...
2:10 "Sweet, now lets get to burning these foo- whoa, WHOA, WHOOOAAAAA HOW DO I STOP THIS THING?"
There's also another way called the Acclamation by Adoration which happens if all Sisters, as if inspiration by the holy Emperor, say one Sisters name, aloud, anonymously, loudly and simultaneously.
I still would like to know who was Selena's voice actress.
good question. I hope we find it one day.
@CorneliusGrim It makes her stand out in a crowd. And serves as personal heater in cold seasons. =)
All I can say is, Hell hath no fury like a woman's scorn. Or in this case, Orkz, Necrons, Eldar, and others have not seen fire like the Sisters of Battle.
It was:
Thule "Alien witch, you despoil our chapel with your presence"
Taldeer "Your emperor is a illusion human, I can hardly blaspheme against something that isn't divine"
Thule "You dare!"
Taldeer "Unless you pray to something els all together from the ruined temple."
Damn you're quick with these uploads! Keep it up Cheney!
0:07 Good, she “comes”.
this mission was hard when played with space marines :D
+scout the heretic Nah, you just had to use Terminators for the infantry and Space Marines Squads with Rocket Launchers for vehicles. Pretty easy.
ANGRY FUCKING -DREADNOUGHT I would like to do dis campaign in ultimate apocalypse mod :P
***** HELL YEAH!
ANGRY FUCKING -DREADNOUGHT Terminators are so op now XD They got like a 31k hp in patch 1.84...
i dont know why but i love when she said "soooooo"
They're somewhere in between the Space
Marines and Imperial Guard in terms of
soldier strength and numbers. They use
power armor like the Space Marines, but
don't have their genetic enhancements.
So you're pretty much on the money.
High morale damage is a bit overstating it, but that's the general idea. They specialize in morale damage, like flamers. Anything to do with fire is morale damage.
@Melkhiordarkblade no , imperials use psychers to maintain warp travel and guide ships though
“I would see this sector rebuilt, free of heretics, mutants and… and zealots!”
Vance “The Mance” Stubbs.
Giving new meaning to the term "Flame war".
My new favorite race :)
I'm halfway through the campaign: the Tau, Space Marines, and Chaos hordes have all fallen before the holy Sisters of Battle.
Pyromaniac nuns. As the Canoness said:
"I have yet to find a cinder that was not faithful in its praise of the Emperor."
@MGGoblin -> Power Armour. :)
Also, I recommend reading the Munitorum Manual's section on boltguns.
Those flametrower rino's remind me of the laggy pyro. Lol
best music in the game imo, i found the strong hold easy but any terratory they had i just found to be imense mainly cus they where one of the last for me but they just overwhelm me at the start.
chaos purged them either way, we are back and better than ever!
@ximbabwe0228
"So anything else you enjoy besides carrying out the Emperor's Will?"
"Are you questioning his divine authority?!"
"Check please!"
Dialogue between Canoness Selena Agna and General Sturnn. (I know, I know, Sturnn is not in Soulstorm, but come on.)
Selena: You dare defy the sacred mission of the Adeptus Ministorum, General? Any step closer, and we will not hesitate to burn your troops to ash and cinder.
Sturnn: I have my own orders too, Canoness. The Cadian 412th is here to reinforce the 252nd Conservator Regiment and retake the system for the Imperium. Withdrawal is not an option.
Selena: So be it, then. General. To arms, sisters!
I think that priest is voiced by the same guy who did the narration for Dark Crusade...
"I have yet to find a cinder not faithful to the Emperor."
She's obviously never battled chaos before.
possible dialogue between Selina and the Necron Lord
Necron Lord: Death.. has arrived to claim you "sister".
Selina: It is you who shall die this day heathen! You shall perish in flames before the day is out!
Necron Lord: You cannot kill death itself. Spare yourself the pain of living and submit to oblivion's embrace....
Selina: Never you souless wretch! The Emperor's faithful shall prevail this day!
Necron Lord: No you won't for you cannot prevail against the inevitability of death itself...
