Its been a long time getting to here, and I had some additional days for re-edits, this one is long overdue, and probably the most requested vid at this point.
Safe to say though that we havent really even fully explored the Sororitas so there will be specific follow ups to come as well.
i love your lore video there always very well done thank you very much
Have you ever considered doing narration for kids education books? You would make bank!!
Been waiting on this one for a while. Awesome work. Thank you.
Gotta say, among my biggest disappointment with the video is the thumbnail. The Astartes get to look badass while the Sisters get that picture? Think you've used it before too.
Praying for some respect for them in the comments. So many get into the SoB just to jerk their junk and it is really sad.
Awesome work please keep it up ❤
Lore for the Loremaster.
Books for his throne.
Let the Galaxy read.
Let the Galaxy learn works better.
@@BrotherRoga Thinking about it, I should have done:
Lore for the Lore God.
Books for his throne.
Let the galaxy learn.
@@DanielWW2 both are good!
Q: What color do you paint Grey Knights?
A: Sororitas
I think 'books for the book throne' is better. Maybe the Tome Throne?
the emperor unhappily sitting in his chair begrudgingly helping the sisters through the powers of the warp because he hates how they see him but loves how good they are at killing the xenos
Sororitas artwork is just phenomenal across the board
Just started watching, so I’m hoping to see a Sororitas landing craft. They don’t use drop pods or even Thunderhawks - they use landing cathedrals (not a joke). You can see one floating in the background in one of the first images.
Except the thumbnail. The Astartes get a cool acurate image of how they look while SoB gets to be seen as crazed anime girls?
He use art without mentioning artist name. Not really amazing thing.
Johannes Helgeson Sister of Battle, in case anyone was wondering. There is a link in the description among a bunch of other misc links
Unless you want minis
I love the reaction of Lorgar, Primarch of the Word Bearers legion, to the first Imperial followers; quoted from ‘The Revelation of the Word’ (December 2019) by David Annandayle.
Lorgar: “You call him a god against his expressed command”.
Kalia: “His dictates are a test of our faith. What is the value of a faith that is not challenged? We prove our fidelity by following these truths no matter what”.
Lorgar: “Though he forbids the worship of all gods”.
Kalia: “There… There is only one true god”.
Lorgar: “Though your god declares he is not one”.
Kalia: “Only the one true god would deny his divinity”.
(Lorgar knocks the altar upside down in anger)
Lorgar (infuriated): “You dare… You dare to turn my words against me?”
Kalia: “I do not understand”.
Lorgar: “Only a true god would deny his divinity. That is the great delusion, the one that lies at the heart of that book. And that delusion was mine. I was the one who contorted reason to produce that lie. I was the one who needed it to be true or else all my beliefs would collapse into ruin, as will yours”. [...]
Kalia: “Then you are still further proof of the Emperor’s divinity. He works even through the likes of you (laughing hysterically) Hahaha, his power is so great that even his enemy must reveal his truth”.
[...]
Lorgar: “They are fanatics, Bal Tavor. They do not question. They do not see. They will not be turned (grimly) Destroy them all!” [...]
Lorgar: “These followers of this cult… They will defy us onto death, that is their nature. In small numbers they are helpless, but in large enough gatherings they will be a threat. Belief is contagious. Given a chance this cult would have spread over worlds and beyond. Kalia Veston and all her kind must be exterminated”. [...]
Lorgar: “But here is the paradox. Though these people will die for the Emperor, though they will fight us to their final breath, they also represent the end of the Emperor’s dream. They are what he tried to destroy on Monarchia. They are everything the Imperial Creed stands against. The Emperor’s most devout followers will, if they can, be the ruin of his hopes and their holy book is my doing”. [...]
Lorgar: “Here at least I have destroyed what I created, what I once sought most fervently to create. I echo my father’s actions and the irony is compound. The contradictions seem irresolvable. I must make war on a religion whose foundation I have laid and whose followers reverently mouth my words. This is vexing. You have recorded all, scribe?” [...]
(Lorgar charges at scribe and strangles him to death) [...]
Lorgar: “No one will hear these words, but me. And there is no space now for me to untangle these paradoxes. The urgencies of war will not allow it, but I will learn the full meaning of this mystery. If I have to extinguish life from the galaxy to carve out that time, then I will. If I have to wait until eternity passes before I can meditate on the full meaning of what has transpired, then I will. But I will understand. I will know revelation”.
I can just say thank you for this a admirative quote
God what an excellent few passages, thanks for posting this.
This was fun to read. The emperor thanks you
Quote Lorgar: “They are fanatics, Bal Tavor. They do not question. They do not see. They will not be turned (grimly) Destroy them all!”
I never thought I would hear Lorgar, of all the characters in the 40k setting, proclaim such a accusation to anyone else. The pot calling the kettle black doesn't even begin to describe it. And what's even more shocking is how Lorgar doesn't reflect on how the Sisters' actions still closely mirrors his fanaticism for the Chaos gods he worships now.
Read this in Luetin
I have technically listened to this whole thing probably 6 times, but have effectively listened to only the first 5 minutes 6 times as luetin's soothing vocals has put me to sleep each time. Long Rest Leutin Sleep Club!
bro I have the same problem. I try to learn a little about the sisters then I suddenly wake up to Leutin telling me about the Digganobz
Ah yes, WH40K ASMR.
Dude he needs like an 8 hour long video, it really helps to sleep
Veterans of the long rest!
How do you technically listen to something 6 times, you either did or you didn't.
40k is clearly an experiment in combining different tropes and archetypes that don’t usually get put together. Like cyberpunk and sexy nuns.
Sexy BDSM nuns...
Pretty much just fantasy in space
@@isaacburrows8405 sexy space nuns.
@@isaacburrows8405 *Dark Fantasy in Space.
Although, 40k sometimes gets to the point of absurdly ridiculous, one of the things I like the most about it, is that it combines those different tropes and archetypes that a similar genre never would. It makes it more thought-provoking and fun imo
Sebastian Thor is a pretty interesting figure. An actual decent human being in a position of power in the Imperium...and he got away with it. His whole story is basically a giant raised middle finger to grimdark.
So true, a surprising tale of a man rising to power and not being corrupt is so rare in both 40K and real life.
@@THExRISERreal life? no it’s not…
@@imperialhistati2348 I meant "not being corrupt", my bad.
Is that basically what it is?
You have to have contrast. If EVERYTHING is dark and icky, then it loses it's impact. One of the greatest things about Warhammer 40k is it is so vast there is so much variety that can be included. Pleasure worlds vs Death Worlds. Eldari paradise Edens and Nurgel corrupted hellscapes. I think 40K needs shining bastions of light, to show how dark the Galaxy can be in other areas. Otherwise you just get numb and bored, like watching a marathon of the Saw movie franchise. :)
Finally
Almost nobody talks about the gunslinging nuns
EDIT: The nunslingers
The sisters are my favourite faction. They embody the wrath and fury of the space marines, and they also represent the humanity in us like the Imperial Guard. Also the ending narration brought some tears to me eyes. Thank you Luetin. Great video.
When I first got into 40k I loved them as I thought of them as ODSTs were to the Spartans in Halo, the Sisters as to the Space Marines. ODSTs wore "Spartan" spec armor albeit toned down for regular unaugmented humans, but were special forces in the UNSC. The best of the best of what a human could achieve by sheer skill, training, and tactics without any special super serum and/or augmentations.
@Higgs idk...Tempestus scion > Sisters of battle
@@jrr7031 Dont get me wrong I love Scions but they dont wear power armor like the Sisters do, ODST armor was initally developed for Spartans than redesigned to fit for human use with less tech than that of what a Spartan would wear of the ODST design. "The ODST Armor has gone through several design changes since the start of the Human-Covenant War. The current version incorporates technology initially developed for the Mjolnir Armor. This includes CTCs for body armor, titanium and ceramic composite armor plating to give the user added protection - along with HUD and Communications Systems to give more situational awareness to the wearer."
@Higgs oh. Ooohhhh as far as powered armor is compared, i see. Ok yea that makes sense then. I though overall equipment, training, and tactics you meant.
@@jrr7031 Yea equipment, training, tactics they basically fill the same role, but if I had to pick one it'd be the Scions. I didnt know about Scions till I got more into 40k and they're absolute badasses. They both fill the role of Shock Troops but Scions would take the cake on that purpose any day
I just picked up Sisters of Battle this is perfect timing to get me even more inspired to paint them and pick a color scheme from the different sisters. Thank you Luetin
exactly why I came here
okay bro
Free candy!?!?!?! For Meeeee??!!??!!? Oh, why thank you!
Me: Eats free candy..........???........ It's poisoned isn't it? ........yep....
Me: Dead.
Lol
Luetin09, blessed be, please consider doing a deep dive on the custodes. It would mean a lot if you could cover that faction when opportunity allows. I'd love to go deep on their genesis, esp. considering some of the older reference materials. In the interim, you have blessed us with a great video on none other than the Soroitas themselves...oh holy Emperor.
And have Cavill as a guest speaker 😂
I have a sneaking suspicion the costodes or imperial army will be the next in this series.
I’m interested in this too - I took a 15 year break from 40k and, when I returned, suddenly discovered these “Custodes” who I had never heard of but who were supposedly even more powerful than anything which was around when I used to play! I don’t like them because they feel like continued power escalation, but willing to be convinced.
The ending female voiced monologue was a perfect touch to a phenominal deepbdive. Such an extremely well done video.
Thank you do much for sharing Leutin! ❤
In the Book of Martyrs, there a scene of battle seen from a Tau point of view. The xenos face the Sisters and the scene shows very well how terrifying it is to fight them. The arco-flagellants and penitent engines would stop at nothing, and one of the Tau is almost cooked alive in their exosuit. There is also a gruesome scene at the end of the story, but I won't spoil it in case you want to read that book.
Tau skewers, anyone? lol
Louise, from Rogue Hobbies, makes the happiest Sister of Battle ever. No doubt, headed for a stint in the Repentia. There will be no smiling in the SoB! 🤣
@1:03:17 I loved that little Easter Egg
The Luetin Sleep Club thanks you for another great addition to this priceless library.
I swear I can hear the narrator of the final quote smiling while she read the last sentence. Perfect, like the previous 72 minutes of this video. Thanks!
The voice sounds as if it is coming from an angel when it is likely just luetins aunt or something 😂
Opening song is "teraforming" by Caden Welborn. Great beat 🙌🏻
You the real MVP
Thank you sir!
The opening gave me goose bumps. 0:55 is so awesome, the vocals sound like a Warcry from the picture. Best one since the Chaos opening.
Anyone know the song name?

Yes! Just in time for my weekend painting sessions! I just want to say thank you Luetin, for all the effort you put into your vids. The research, the YT restrictions and everything make it hard but you're still able to bring out top-notch 10/10 content. Everybody appreciates you, and what you do.
First a major kill video, then one from Luetin while I’m working?? The emperor truly protects!

I wish people would credit the materials (art, songs, etc) even if they are free to use or not, you wouldn't have it for you vids if it weren't there, crediting them is the LEAST you can do.
Free music doesn't usually require credit, and the description mentions how stuff like music belongs to their respective owners anyway, so you're really reaching for some dirt here.
@@highlordlaughterofcanada8685 Not really, you still wouldn't have that music if it didn't exist (regardless of it being "free" or not). I apologize if it came across that I was muck flinging at Luetin, that absolutely wasn't my intent, however I do think credit should always be given where it's due.
@@MiniatureBuild A lot of free music doesn't ask for or require credit. When that's the case, it's not really an issue. If they ask for it and it isn't given, then yes, a bit of a dumb move.
16:11 Behold followers of Luetin a rare display of his sense of humor, lol
I hope eventually we get a novel series detailing the relationship between the sororitas orders and their matriarchs, would be very cool to see the contrast between a mortals view of a maternal holy relationship the way we've seen so much of an immortals (the astartes) view of their paternal relationship with the primarchs.
Finally, my favourite faction is getting the Luetin treatment it so deserves
Please keep making videos. Your videos are one of my favorite things in life. After a long day when I unwind I open these videos before going to sleep. Works like a charm everytime and I love W40k
It was his video on the Mechanicus that actually got me really into 40k. And I love that everything is done like its a documentary and the 40k universe actually exists, and not "In this book" or "In this game". Ya know, unless he is talking about some sort of in universe piece of writing.
Why would he stop making them?
Yet another wonderful video.
And absolutely beautiful that Louise Sugden's cosplay image became part of the repertoire of photos belonging to our Holy Sisters.
Man this is timely, I am on a Sororitas novel binge, lol. Just finished Faith&Fire, about midway thru Pilgrims of Fire.. the SoB are just badass.
Seriously, your content is the best! If Games Workshop ever decides to make a movie or series, I pray to the god emperor you are a part of it. You are a 40K lore master and you would deserve that recognition!
I'm a n00000b and I'm just scratching the surface of the lore, but I can already point to countless elements in popculture that have been "heavily inspired by WH40k"/"stolen from WH40k".
It's quite amazing.
Just wanted to thank you. I've always been largely interested in the age of apostasy. Yet no one has done a real deep dive on it. So this was an amazing video just from that, let alone all the other lovely bits.
I am not even remotely surprised that Thor’s head is a part of Trazyn’s collection. I wouldn’t even be shocked if he had a missing/presumed dead Primarch in his possession.
I love that crazy Necron; he’s one of the best, and most amusing, characters in 40K.
The Sororitas are one of my favorite factions. I wonder why they always seem to end up as DLC in games.
Sex sells.
Bro ngl. I recently saw that a sororitas class was added to the 40k inquisitor game....I looked at my space marine Character and was like "alright bro, your sister is joining the fight"
Because Space Marines and Imperial Guard are more popular and more marketable to newer 40k fans.
😭😭😭 literally crying tears of joy I have listened to soooooooooo many of your videos and have waited so long for the soritas video
Dope video, much appreciated, it got me a through a rough patch of depression today
Long ago I made a request / suggestion of a video that covered the the referred battle nuns of the imperial church. Long did I wait, and now my patience has been rewarded. Lore master Lutin, once again you have done a fantastical job and I thank you profusely.
Your channel is what got me into 40k and now finally a video on my favorite faction. A good day.
Your final monolgue with that indomitas trailer and artwork, and that sister voice acting gave me chills. Well done my man
Just in time for 10th. I care not for points nor rules. I will field them to remind those enemies of The Emperor that his wrath is inviolate. His will immortal.
Been waiting for quite some time for your video on the Sisters.
Thank you so much!
1:03:20 Well, she seems very happy with her Imperial faith.
Someone is smiling in 40k, that's terrifying.
Is it just me, or does hunting down mutants not come up nearly as much as it should relative to the setting?
On that note, Sisters are warp sorcerers and it's based.
Tsundere + Volatile weaponry + WAAAAGH! = Battle-Sister.
I was not really interested in the Sisters of Battle for a long time, but they've grown on me quite a bit as I've learned more about them and the 40k universe as a whole. Definitely one of the more interesting factions out there.
The artwork for the 40K universe is so godd*mn good!
Awesome content as usual very educational and the artworks are top quality throughout the entire video.
Hurrah! At last! I'm so excited! Thank you for putting this out. Your videos, and your style, are unmatchable!
Amazing video and love the content on the Sisters of Battle. The depth of insight you give is always refreshing.
I have one complaint. This video is beautifully done and created with a staggering amount of background while including as much possible 40k lore as possible. The thumbnail doesn't do something so professionally done justice. I went to watch this video a second time and literally thought it was not possible to be this video with that thumb pic. That is all continue on Luetin.
You could have just said the thumbnail was dumb instead of over-explaining things to the point of confusion.
Excellent work as always, thank you sir, the passion you put into your work is phenomenal.
That outro narration was spot on by the way. And what a great video! Been just waiting for you to get to the Sororitas, the sisterhood of badass ladies deserve their time in the sun.
I like how "the inquisition watches closely that wars of faith do not exceed the outlines set by the eclisiarchy and the troops are properly disbanded afterwards" is just a throwaway line. Like 'yeah shure, have fun'
Fantastic! I've been hoping for an Adepta Sororitas video for some time and you've delivered a real banger here! Fun outro at the end there too. Well done to Natalisea for the narration!
Perfect timing! I just bought my sisters army and have been consuming lore like crazy. Thank you LT!

another outstanding work
I was always huge fan of lore, not just 40K but many other
and your channel is everything I would ever want from this point of view
keep up the amazing job
Other than Sabat, for whom my thanks for your mention, I get most of my experience of Sororitas from Cain's early contemptuous and later more measured view of them, so this was an unusually eye opening vid form me. Rock on, Loremaster!
Thanks for the vid! A great scene for the lore would be Guiliman's (or the Lion) reactions to seeing a Soritas anchorite. How would he react to this horror in his father's name? Does he hold it in while in the presence of others or rage. Does he go back to his quarters and do what for a Primarch passes as weeping? If anything like this exists, it would make a great vid.
He'd probably react much in the same way he reacted to beholding the Death Korps of Krieg.
Another absolute masterpiece.. Sound, writing, summations. A pleasure to listen toZ
I knew it was coming but SO glad I waited for you to broach this shadowy blood-soaked age. Super epic vid LT. Thanks for your continuing content!!
We are blessed - Luetin is sharing his wisdom with us again - light of the Emperor is shining upon us :D

Luetin, I love you. Your work is amazing. Thank you for all you do.
Your production values are so epic. Amazing work thanks for making each video a bit of a masterpiece 👍
These lore videos about races, or subsections of a race are the most interesting I find. Learning about the Dark Eldars, Tau, Necrons, or the Legion of the Damned and Death Korps of Krieg when it comes to the Imperium was absolutely fascinating. Thank you for blessing us with these !
Just finished Hammer and Anvil by James Swallow. It is a solid book and well worth a read.
Trazyn is 40k version of a Funko Pop collector. I can imagine him doing a pog as his face contorts into a soyjak as he adds Sebastian Thor's skull into his collection.
He actually collects things of value.
Unlike Funkopop collectors who literally collect plastic, worthless trash.
@@Liberty_or_DedWarhammer minis are also plastic, so I guess those are worthless too. I guess every toy collector ever has been wasting money as well? How are Funko Pops different from an action figure or Hot Wheels car that sits unboxed on a shelf? The entire point of the things is to display them. Your boomer energy in these comments is unreal.
@@highlordlaughterofcanada8685 Your consoomer energy is hilarious, but okay, I'll bite.
Warhammer miniatures are pieces you assemble, pose, prime, paint, gloss, highlight, and wash. Personal effort goes into the display. The fact you included them into a comparison to Funko Pops was... not something you should have done, if I'm being nice.
Action figures are specialized models cast in unique-to-form molds, while Hot Wheels cars which are detailed, specially-molded miniatures.
Funko Pops are fad-chasing mass-manufactured low-grade plastic pieces using the same molds, all of the same shape and pose, differentiated almost entirely by the simplistically cheap, lowest-effort print-paint process.
To put it more succinctly, Funko Pops are emblematic of the cynical casual-consumer-pandering penny-pinching phony-fad descent into mediocrity that "displayables" have been sinking into for a bit over a decade now.
Hot Wheels, amusingly enough, used to occupy that particular niche after declining in quality over the years, but at least the heyday of Hot Wheels were genuinely well-modeled, intricately-detailed toy miniatures, while Funko Pops exist and have always existed exclusively to cash in on the pop-culture chase for "nerd cred."
That was freakng amazing!! My favorite one of yours yet. I love the Sister of Battle. Just epic!
That was some gooood story time! Thank you. I’m in the early planing stages for a Sisters cosplay and your vid is a great reference. 😊

Thank you so much for what you bring to 40K.
Another incredible deep dive Luetin09. A fantastic must watch for all fans of 40k lore and beyond!
Sororitas really brings in the grimdark. Yeah, fighting alien monsters and five flavors of demons is scary, but remembering just how twisted and savage the Imperium is reminds you that humanity is in no way the "good guys" here.
Everyone knows the Farsight Enclaves are the good guys!
Yes Inquisitor, this one here.
Humanity are the good guys, because at the end of the day, they are us. Humanity at its worst is still infinitely preferable to humanity being devoured, enslaved, destroyed, and wiped from existence by others.
"Good" is a relative term. The TRUE grimdark is that humanity ARE the good guys. That is the bar of moral relativity that you must start with. To say "humanity aren't the good guys" is to fail to acknowledge what the bar for "good" is set at.
@@Liberty_or_Ded
Humanity by majority in 40k are just trying to survive. With trillions of people there are going to be unspeakable atrocities committed and some true heroism and justice, but the lions share of the population is spending thrir time working and hoping to not die.
Same for the Eldar.
Same for the Tau.
Orks are just having fun doing what they were made to do. I'd say they have the least percentage of "evil" beings among them.

Nobody gets me more hype to believe in a fictional religion and follow a fictional god emperor into battle!!
Thank you!!!! You got me into this obsession, I mean hobby, and I’ve been wanting to see you do this faction.
The head of Sebastian Thor is in Trazyn's museum. Why does this completely not surprise me.
I love Trazyn , such a well done character.
He is such a ninja looter.
Trazyn: YOINK!
Imperium: Yoink? *Gasp* My regiment!
It surprised me seeing the armed militia of the most fanatical and bloodthirsty cult in human history mostly depicted nowadays as a noble order of valiant knights.
Shows how the Imperium has been shifting (retconned ?) towards being the "good guys" of the setting. Thanksfully loremasters like Luetin still remain nuanced towards the Sisters of battle.
They've always been the "good guys" of the setting. Because that's where the bar of what constitutes "good guys" in 40k is.
the intro music was a real nice change of pace. great video as always , thank you, Luetin.
I never know if I should save the lore video's for those days I feel bad to cheer myself up, or just consume them as fast as they appear. There is just something about the bad company 2 intro sound that never fails to put a smile on my face. Never the less thank you for the lore, as someone who has never read/played any WH40k they are a wonderful glimpse into a chasm so deep and full of wonder and or horror. They are masterfully made, cheers luetin
EMPEROR BE PRAISED A NEW LUETIN DROP HAS GRACED US 🙏😭
I would really love if you covered Fallen Sisters. Mostly because their over zealous demeanor makes them uniquely vulnerable to Chaos. Yes, I know most sisters don't fall. But you know what they say "Blood for the Emperor, Skulls for the Golden Throne". ;)
I'm so glad I noticed this video at 1:30 in the morning while I struggle to sleep. You're the best Luetin, thank you!
Imagine you’re an injured guardsmen. Enemies closing in on your position. ALL OF A SUDDEN AN EIGHT FOOT WOMAN appears and heals you completely then rallied you back into the fight and you fight along side your new giant war mommy
I'd love to see a sister of battle debating 304s
I've always loved how the women in 40k aren't just generic overly sexualized warrior women like you see in many other entertainment pieces but are instead actually fleshed out and badass and complex characters with practical armor. We want warriors not battle stripers.
Agreed, the Nuns with Guns are a hammer for Big E.
Ehhhh, extremely debatable. This only really applies to recent works and some authors. Not to mention any artwork of the Sisters before 8th ed was basically battle strippers. The fans are partly to blame for this (look up the official Warhammer art that they sell and see which ones are sold out).
It is getting better, don't get me wrong but anyone who has read a couple of 40k books are prepared to roll their eyes the moment a female character enters the scene.
Exerpt from A Thousand Sons: "She had a vulnerability that made men alternately want to protect or deflower her." 😬
"You bare your flesh for fulfilling your lustful sins and thottery.
I bare my flesh that the blades of my foes may strike me down and send me to the divine embrace of the Emperor.
