Will building up my Traps help me get my first ever Pull-Up? Everyone always talks about the Lats & Biceps, but it seems that the Traps also play a rather significant role. (Especially in the initial Scapula Shrug & Depression) Yet no one ever mentions them. Unless I'm seriously mistaken.
Nope. Calves are alone in their resistance to development. As someone that began with negative traps I can attest they will grow. That said, EVERY muscle in its beginning and development is a product of genetics.
Not true, shrugs (in all their many variations) specifically target traps. In fact, its the single direct trap exercise. Remember, shrugs can be done with a barbell, dumbbells, or cables, and from the front, back, and sides. The others exercises such as Farmer's Walk are ancillary. I wouldn't waste the energy for traps alone. However, Face Pulls target middle and lower traps very well. Just remember to squeeze (at the top) and release. Don't just flip through the motions. Finally, be weary if you already have a short thick neck. I have a long brachiosaurs neck, so overtraining the traps for me, is not an issue.
Great Video 💪🏾💪🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Awesome video! Thank you!
great video
Excellent content, adding to my back workout immediately. Thanks very much. Any thoughts on # of sets/reps.
Beat Trap instructional video I’ve ever seen . 👍🏿
Yes I do. Once a week on DL day. Barbell, 3 sets of 8-10 reps, 335 - 365 lbs.
Once a week will maintain you in shape but you won't grow much.
I’m 53 and I deadlift 605 without TRT. I bet my goals are different from yours.
Throw these in on an arm/upper body day?
Back day would be my first choice.

Spot on
No.
how much of having big traps is genetic? seems to me like calves or biceps where for some they have em and others work em like crazy and come up short
