The way mark just signalled with a finger and rohan got up. My gosh.. anyways the offer they made was extraordinary and clever. These guys have the super recipe that can sell like hot cakes and the sharks just take off the burden of the operations of commercial kitchen, packaging, marketing, distribution. Best deal of shark tank ever.
Business Perspective for Mark and Rohan's Offer: It actually was a pretty decent offer. Offering a 10% royalty means that they get 10% of sales which is truly incredible. For example 10% on 100M of sales (which is a very realistic point to reach) would be 10M cash for them with no work. They could then put that money to work on another business venture supported by the guaranteed profits from the deal. (In short they would get a guaranteed stream of income from which they could build in the future)
Apparently they actually lunched other products with this brand, so it worked even better for them building trust with one product for the brand and expanding
Which is what true wealth is. The lady said she didn't want to work for someone else. I wonder what part of "you don't have to do anything" did she not understand.
I’m really glad that the second couple stood their ground. I know that it’s a shark tank, but I hate it when they try to manipulate people into really bad deals. It was basically gas lighting - not negotiation.
it’s not a bad deal. even with their growth now, they’ve likely had to give up lots of the company to fund it so they are not reaping all the rewards of the growth. With the shark’s deal, the couple would never have to work another day in their lives with the royalty in perpetuity.
Yes since it uses much more water and resources to produce these types of products. From Fake meats to almond milk. If we are gunna get serious about environmental efforts. These sort of operations have to use much less energy and water or go away. You want vegan? Plant a garden
This couple is very smart to turn the deal down. It seems like the Sharks were trying to buy off the business for $1M with absolute power and control and only 10% royalty for the couple. That's a rip off.
16:20 I love how Mark tries to sell them on the dream that they're a "millionaire couple", nice tactic, sell them that dream while we scoop up a nice chunk of your business. Good for them to not give in. Rohan gives me this sleazy vibe man, I wouldn't do a deal with him for any money.

I think what would have been a great thing to add on to her already great pitch were to give the sharks the food without telling them its vegan and then do the rest of her original pitch
Mark and Rohan had the most cunning offer. Whenever these guys put such an offer, it’s always a sign to keep hold of your business, cause it’s destined to be worth more
What I find stupid with these vegan alternatives is that they are WAY more expensive then non-vegan / non-vegetarian alternatives.. You can get 1 kg of meat for under 10 usd but to get 1 kg of this vegan stuff you will need to pay 45 usd at their homepage + shipping... It costs way more to raise animals than to make these vegan products but these products are somehow way more expensive than buying meat. I bought some expensive vegan hotdogs some months ago and it tasted like if I was eating grass from a lawn, and they were EXPENSIVE...
@@poonamupadhyay692 Sorry but you can't pay bills with feelings. They feel pain and I have bills to worry about. You can't expect the majority of people to go vegan until it makes sense economically. Very smart
They are doing well, but Mark would have gotten them there 10 times faster. And their revenue could be ten times more. Should have just asked them to alter the deal for partial equity.

I like Kevin but he was being really manipulative with that second deal, funny enough for a deal that wasn't even his, and after always condemning other Sharks for their "greed" in wanting too much equity. @@basiclogicslaya1840 old comment but that's due to production more than rejecting the deal. They're given cues when to walk in or leave.
It’s very smart for the sharks to offer more money for more equity. The difference between $100,000 and $250,000 is small to them, but the difference between 10% and 20% of a company if it blows up is huge!

@@AnhHuynh-mc6kr history will tell I guess.
Lol the Atlas Monroe people almost got swindled outta their recipe, that 10% meant nothing they were just gonna take the recipe, close the company, and flip the recipe to one of the big chicken companies. I wonder how much that actually would be valued at if it’s really something ridiculously good I’d say in the mid 7 figures. 1 mil def not enough if the quality is amazing with the plant based meat fad in America right now.
A 10% royalty in perpetuity is definitely not “nothing”.
@@WSB1469 You read what I said or did you just stop at that. They were just going to take the recipe and then resell the proprietary formula to big chicken companies. Why would they put effort in to the company and have to give them 10% of every sale? That doesn’t make any sense business-wise. This was a quick flip opportunity it’s naïve to think otherwise.
Plant based fad? Large swaths of the world are vegetarian or have veggie-heavy diets.
@@ebbandflowph vegetarian vs "plant based" can be two different things. Those specific two words refer to meat/non vegan (eg egg/milk) alternatives. And especially with meat, there's more vegans and vegetarians globally who don't care for processed foods, of which they are. Yes the market is large, and may steadily grow, but at the end of the day people globally will buy oyster mushrooms and make those taste like chicken or pork more regularly than they would buy Beyond Meat.

Barbara gives free advice but rarely makes a deal
17:33 I'm so glad they didn't take that offer. What a rip!

This couple is very smart to turn the deal down. It seems like the Sharks were trying to buy off the business for $1M with absolute power and control and only 10% royalty for the couple. That's a rip off.
