Lyrics:
I took the wrong train
Ate all the wrong pills
I took a cell phone
To call my voice mail
I took the wrong train
Got off the wrong town
They beat their kids up
Somewhere suburban
And I’m never coming home again
We can’t agree on anything
And where the hell are all my friends
I need you right now
I ran the wrong light
Got in a car crash
A wife that hates me
So does her boyfriend
And I’m never coming home again
We can’t agree on anything
And where the hell are all my friends
I need you right now
I took the wrong train
Got off the wrong town
They beat their kids up
Somewhere suburban
And I’m never coming home again
We can’t agree on anything
And where the hell are all my friends
I need you right now
Tell me things you used to do
I’ll pretend you wanted to
We wear these little things away
In the end there’s nothing left to say
I get chills when Richard sings "where the hell are all my friends?" since I've pretty much lost mine. Great song.
I'm still here
Yes those words are chilling to me because I'm like when I was at my lowest and I was begging for friends where are they
@@suedeblue6990 I'm here
@@skypilotace I think you're right. At the very least one should learn to feel good in one's own company
I recently lost my best friends of 27 years. It's taken me over a year to get out of deep depression. But I agree. That's life. I'm hopeful for the future even with a broken heart.
Jesus…..Richard Butler and Psychedelic Furs was my fav band of the 80’s and here we are in 2024 and I’m getting same chills as when I was a teen. Unreal 🤩✨👏🏻💫❤️
I've always adored the sound of Richard Butler's voice, but man. He's one of the rare examples of someone who's become a far better singer over time. Excellent.
👍✌️
agree 100 porcent
I agree and I love his voice ! ! !
I was thinking the same
Right? Wow.
This song is thoroughly modern and up-to-date yet fits in perfectly with the Furs' classic catalogue. Few bands are able to pull that off. Great song, great sound, and heartbreaking lyrics. So good to hear new material from a timeless band.
Yes..this is dead-on correct on all counts! Except this song - and video - is outstanding....
As I never get tired of saying, 1980's New Wave & Post-Punk is the holy fountainhead from which most (though certainly not all) post-1980's pop/rock stylistic forms, conventions & popular preferences spring & those of us who were lucky enough to witness that birthing process firsthand "in the flesh", so to speak, as teenagers & twenty-somethings, were TRULY BLESSED.
I quite agree. Yeah I went through a divorce. Once I know about how tough it can be but you can always try to work things out if you can and if you can’t, it’s best to walk.
This is fucking outstanding for a band that hasn't made new music since 1991. Absolutely incredible single and album. Saw them live here in Chicago last week - SO DAMN GREAT!
You Lucky you!!! His voice is like a magnetic balm that encapsules and protects. Love, some call it.
I know them since 1979 or so and always loved them and then many years later they made this wonderful song. What a great band.
Wow why did I miss them in Chicago? I think they were concert conflicts and they lost. Maybe it was the same week as Riot Fest. I won’t make that mistake again!
They stuck to the old school which is real rock and sing from the heart not like having naked idiots trying to sound good when in truth they are just people who sold their souls with no talent
Just saw them last night in SLC. Fabulous. So glad they played this one.
Literally 40 years later and it's like they just recorded this brilliant bloody song in 1986. They sound the same and amazing all at once.
ABSOLUTELY... It's incredible!..
@@MerchCafe Right? My brother-in-law just saw them in Ottawa. No surprise, they were amazing!
You can tell it's a new song because he mentions cell phones
@@aaronrocs Truth.
Live sounds 10x better.. they have richard fortus from guns n roses.
I cried listening remembering the early 80s so vividly... that voice
Legend alive
yeah but what the frick, man! i never heard him hit such highs, so hard, and so tenderly, it's... it's dangerous, that's what this is, man! i wonder what else he's done... i can tell you this for sure, tho:
from now on, the-man-in-*MY*-shoes, runs-the-lights, mate!
Pfurs sound track of my 80's wildlife youth ..
no regrets
I just love him so much. Been a listening to Richard Butler's beautiful voice since 1983
Richard has one of the most recognizable dynamic voices of all time. A manly mans voice. Love it! Great presentation guys!
My go to band since the 80's and I'm sixty now...I've seen them once live... Amazing !
Lol, 60 is the new 30, or even 20, why not?!!
Richard Butler, the consummate artist. What an ageless and well kept talent. "Where the hell have all my friends gone" indeed. Regret grows with age and it can't be helped, because that's life.
Jesus, is true
Always loved his voice!
Everything about this is fantastic! The Furs forever! ❤🎶
EXACTLY.
Love the Furs. They just seem to keep getting better and better with age. Most of the best bands ever were born in that late 70's and 80's era. And the ones that are still producing work create the only music worth listening to.
Incredible voice
Forever & ever Richard Butler's voice
How is it his range increased??
Great songwriter..🌹
“HEAVEN” is my ALL time fave Furs song ❤️
This is the BEST album of 2020!! You can easily listen to it from beginning to end. And each song touches the heart a little differently than the last one. A great, sonic journey!!
totally agree - it's SUCH a good album, and very overlooked. An amazing comeback. Every song has such a solid groove. Just quality and experience all round. The songs are different but go together - it's not often you can listen to an album from start to finish these days and not feel let down.
Made me cry. I grew up on the Furs & have Never stopped listening to them. You guys are Truly a Timeless band.
And this new track is Amazing. 😪
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
This song has actually been around since the early 2000s in their live set. You can see it on their "House Of Blues" live set from around 2002.
@@robhaunui3343 Well it popped up as Brand New in my alerts.
@@bigge7661 in a way,it is brand new,and I was totally rapt it finally got a studio version. Still it is one of my favourite Furs tracks, and this new recording is every bit as good as anything they laid down in the 80s.
Same here, been years and loved hearing that powerfully emotional voice again. 🫀
@@lesleytonks2594 U know for years, whenever life gets to be a bit too much with work, family, the News & Covid.
I put on "Love My Way" and I'm a teenager again without a care in the world. Gosh I Love this band.👍🏾
What a fantastic return...the Furs are still just as brilliant.
Best song I've heard in years even played it over and over like I was a teenager again. Brilliant Richard Butler.
hört sich trotz dem Alter so schön nach Jugend an... 😍😍to the furs!!!
Richard Butler is a beautiful and perfect genius! Thank God for the new album and new video! More, more, more, please, please, please!!!!! My number one favorite band and singer!
I've adored the Furs for so long... it's great to hear Richard's voice again.
Yes a real pleasant surprise after all this many years.
I always loved the psychedelic furs! They never disappoint ❤️✌️✌️✌️❤️❤️
I never really listened to their lyrics before. “I’m never coming home again. We can’t agree on anything and where the hell are all my friends?” A lot of pain here. 😢
this song is amazing......
I was a big fan of them back in the 80's and saw them live. This song is really good!
Another banger from absolute
Champion among the new wave bands
Thank you to the P Furs for all those most excellent and enjoyable albums!!!!!!
Richard Butler and the Furs❤️❤️
If you ever have a chance to catch them live, do it! They sound as good as ever, like listening to them on record. Amazing band.
I did get the chance back in the 80,s...amazing was transfixed!
2019. Perfect
YES! Best live performers! I saw them every year on their tours for 9 years. Have traveled a lot to make that happen. Can not wait to see them live again some day!
Very true. I've seen them 7 times to date! 🖤
Saw them in 2019. It was close to the happiest 90 minutes of my life. I know that's kind of sad, but it really was good.
Richard Butler’s paintings are incredible too.
🙏💙 will check them out!
Total artist
Yes his daughter images amaze
Bringing their edge back to their Music...Loved it!
Have loved this band ever since I first heard them almost forty years ago.
Really glad they are still active.
Yes for me also about 40 years go (Midnight to midnight album) still a great band.
@@MD-ru5vs 👍👍
Amazing. Great new music from the Furs! Has the feel of the 80s and with modern production and the lyrics are intense. Voice has never sounded better.
Listened to these guys in the 80's and still listening. Saw them live this summer and it was the highlight of my summer! Richard Butler's voice is just as pleasing as always. BTW Richard and Tim have great hair!
The world was ours. Now we're observing it from our screens.
Can't stop listening to 'Made in Rain' - one great song after the other!
Wow!!!!🥰❤️
Sheer genius. He's so talented. The whole band is. My theme song.🚂
New Furs!!?? Shut up!! Fabulous!!!
There’s a whole new album out!
@@PlopstoperGames stop!! I love it!!😊
Love , love , love
Their best song in 30 years.
I saw them in Las Vegas in 2018. They played this song and it absolutely slayed me. I searched for it for months and finally gave up. What a thrill it was to see it listed on the new album and hear it again!
Hey, it's their first song in 30 years. I love this band.
@@carlhorowitz5916 ... first song in 30 years??... this song is about 20 years old!!..... can't understand how they didn't include Little Miss World ... such a great song for long time Furs devotos...

Still as cool and creative as ever! Love this song.
They still sound incredible, and the same line up. Also great that horns are still part of their sound.
This kind of music is echoes of bygone better times! This will never fade out and will always be a great throw back!
Just saw them a couple months back. Tight as hell, beautiful is all I can say about the show. Richard has the most iconic voice in rock and its still there!
I cried listening this. Because is my autobiography. Thank you Butler to put in words and music those feelings soo accurate!
ICONIC band and voice. David and Lou are smiling down from heaven with headphones on...
yes you give 2 good examples here, sadly miss them and specially Lou.
Stunning retrospective- references all the best of Butler including his artistic bent and The Furs back catalogue.Pathos and uplifting in equal measure. Awesome !
@RichardButlerMusic
Wow ! That made me smile. Cheers.
The lines that break my heart are, "Where the hell are all my friends? I need you right now."
A powerful song sung by a great vocalist. Only one that comes close to Richard Butler is David Bowie.
You forgot Morrissey!
@@jr1638 Just ordered his new drop, can't wait. I Am Not A Dog On A Chain.
Bowie - Mainman
I love the line, “a wife who hates me... so does her boyfriend.” I remember that feeling from a long time ago.
You forgot Ian Curtis
The best song. Great. The Furs forever and ever
Cracking track.. More than a hint of Bowie too... No bad thing... Long may they continue ☺
This is incredible.
I bought this CD in late 2020. Very cool. Made my best of 2020 list. Psychedelic Furs fan since my teens. - Heather
Since my 20's ..lol.
Tho 1st couple of albums were on "all my friends" turntables .... Ahh Youth 😘
I'm going to see them this friday
Me too. I fell involve with them when I was 13 when I heard Love my Way for the first time. Started listing renting their albums out at the library. Then they break up the following year. Then I searched them up online to see if maybe they got back together. Sure enough I heard wrong train. Still love them. Then I was searching Ticketmaster and seen then are going to be in concert. I bout ticket right away. Man they are so good live.
@@cyclechick313 You won't be disappointed. They are great live.
I know them for about 40 years and did not know they were still active and make this beautiful music after all this years.
Brilliant track, brilliant video. I love the furs!
I last saw the Furs in Boston in 1987. I have been a big fan since 1983 or so. Seeing them again in 11/21 in New Haven, CT. Just got seats the other day. I am so excited. Richard Butler is so crazy talented, as are the rest of the band.
I've always loved the Furs and been fortunate enough to see them numerous times over the last 20 some odd years. I even caught Love Spit Love in the late 90s!
Excelente canción.....Iam very happy for the new material from the Furs....sound great!!!!....
Lima-Perú.
Just saw the Furs live in Detroit this past weekend. I was not a Furs fan back int he 80s, but they rocked and this song stole the show for me. Richard's voice was better than in the 80s and man, does this song pull it out. There were 5 of us. I am 59 and the only one left. Fortunately, I still have the most amazing wife. RIP DEAN, JOHN, MARK, CHRIS
Love this track...Long live the Furs
Still very viable in 2021. Excellent song.
liken kann ich dich gerade nicht - ergibt 13 - andererseits = die quersumme 4 von 13 - die is nich verkehrt und ich liebe diesen sound und WAHRHEIT
This is a astounding example of classic Furs, Wrong Train is just as remarkable as anything from their archives!
The furs are back, this sounds like the furs back in the 80s, powerful heavily processed riffs and acoustic guitars overdubs, love it!
What a fabulous and highly appropriate video. Great job!
One of the best vocalists in New Wave, changing that while listening again: You are the best New Wave voice! (sorry Gary N.). His voice is even more amazing than before and he is still the cool New Wave guy ! Love him! And hey Richard, we also wonder were our friends from back then are.
Richard has been my favorite since grade 9 met him right on Mercer st blew up the pictures of us put it on stage at a concert he picked it up said ‘ Tim this is me in the pic ‘ ! Love my furs & Richard
Wonderful video bravo. Today I received the last album "Made in Rain".
Superb album, it feels good to find the 80s sound of the Psychedelic Furs. I missed the New wave sound of my teenage years.
Well done to all the members of the group and special mention to Richard!
A Great song and a really cool viddy. Like hearing them all over again mid 80's. I was lucky enough to catch them at the Mesa Amphitheater, in Arizona. What a stage presence and All the great songs. Stay Beautiful you guys---Love Your Way.
I've always been fond of this band, and in particular Richard Butler's voice. Casual fan I guess. I checked out Made In Rain more out of curiosity than anything - I wasn't prepared for how masterful the whole album is. Absolutely fantastic. And Butler's voice is as good as, if not better than ever.
It only took around 20 odd years to finally hear a studio version of one of their best live songs, but it was worth it.
And a hell of a studio version it is!
Actually there is a different studio version ... its from the Greatest Hits Live DVD, it plays during the ending credits if I remember correctly.
Fantastic! Compliments to everyone involved! This is a feast for the eyes and ears, for the mind, and the heart. Thanks, Furs, Hans Neleman, and the folks who helped create this video. From catching the attention of listeners/viewers live (such as on the House of Blues Concert DVD), to the new album and the incredible musicianship and production, to this wonderful journey, it's a treat of a song. I love the way the new album slips in references to other work (notes from Dumb Waiters, lyrical references to previous albums, the use of the fast-paced electric "train-like" notes in this, harkening back to the opening of "Into You Like A Train", even certain shots in this video that are reminiscent of the black and white footage from "All That Money Wants" -- all blend and explode in powerful ways). And this video, featuring so many wonderful pieces of art, it lets viewers pause and admire each one. Thanks, everyone! I'm smiling in happy wonder here in NH! We'll see you on the stage, and give you lots of smiles, live!! All the best!
This rates right up there with their ‘best ever’ songs. This album was so long awaited, and to be honest I really only like roughly half of it, but the stuff I like, I _really_ like. This one, I _love._
The video is very cool. Totally on brand.
The tune is very P-Furs with a modern guitar sound. Made of Rain and Richard’s solo record are great listens even now. That voice is full of aching heartbreak. Delicious.
that's right - Richard's solo record is really special
They gave me strength while stationed in Germany back in 1986
Brilliant video, beautiful song. 'Made Of Rain' is a great Furs album. Up there with their best.
The imagery, maturity, and raw emotion has me listening/watching this song over and over again. Thanks Furs for never compromising your art.
Layers upon layers of meaning and emotions. Music such as this will continue to unfold it's fragance for so any years. The Psychedelic Furs should always be handled with care and amazement.
Quel bel homme touchant & talentueux!
Myriam, fan since first album
Some of us age well ...others not so much. The Furs have been on the good side of this march of time and this represents the natural progression of a great band that has matured beautifully. The Furs have been part of the soundtrack of my life for decades . Bravo Richard!
yes your definition is absolutely right. I know them for more than 40 years and than they made this perfect song.
Just a great band,if you get to watch them live do so you'll have a awesome evening!
TOOOOOOOOOOOOOP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Beautiful.
Sad, dark and intense.
I live it. I love It.
Heck yes!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for all the memories RB ...still fantastic ❤
Bittersweet beautiful song 🥰💜👌🏻

This sounds like a lost David Bowie (R.I.P.) song. Great job, TPF.
I am so proud that they recorded this in St. Louis.
Agreed! Thanks to home town boy Richard Fortus
Just like yesterday.. love the Furs
what timing - fantastic. his voice is unmistakable - great lyrics. everything about this song is perfection... love it
Richard is phenomenal. His voice matured over the years for the better--he sounds great! Love him!
Amazing! Congratulations!
Pure Psychedelic Furs!
"l'enfer c'est les autres" says Sartre [Hell that is other people]. On the other hand YOUR WORK IS OF ETERNAL GLORIOUSNESS , Mr Butler
Still got it after all these years - great song
Un Graditissimo Ritorno....Vi seguo dal lontano 1980 ...Bellissimi Ricordi..........Siete Grandi.....
So refreshing to know that a true artist still breathes on this planet. Hope only in love, not a chance of survival without art.
