- The Lexus LFA (Now ~$1,000,000 CAD, ~$800,000 USD) is just about everyone’s favourite supercar - and it’s no surprise as to why. The handbuilt naturally aspirated V10 with its meticulously engineered exhaust note. The mind-bendingly fast sequential gearbox. The carbon fibre infused chassis. There are so many reasons why the LFA holds a special place in the hearts of enthusiasts all over the world. But will it live up to the hype and be the exception to the saying ‘don’t meet your heroes’? Watch as Thomas and James attempt to pick their jaws up off the floor and review this automotive legend. SUBSCRIBE!
Huge thank you to Drive Motorsports for making this possible. www.drivemotorsports.ca/ | @drivemotorsports.ca

Thank you all for your kind words. We’re absolutely blown away by your comments. This was a truly special experience and our editor extraordinaire Karston did an incredible job with the final product. And yes, don’t worry. Harrison did indeed get to drive his dream car. 😉. Thanks again everyone, and stay tuned. We’ve got more wild stuff coming.
Insane
I’m sure everyone would love to see his reaction to driving his favorite car
458 and Carrera GT next?
we NEED to see footage please!!
what an amazing tribute guys!
I still remember the one and only time I saw one in the flesh, gelously kept behind a red cord at the Sydney Lexus dealer the year it came out... couldn't drive obviously, neither sit in it... but just looking (and drooling) on it was amazing... never saw another one ever since...
Awe that’s nice he got to drive
the three downshifts while L F A was being spelled out literally might be the coolest thing I have ever seen in a car review
i tought the same! amazing
Perfect ending
Period.
Hahahhaha LOVE IT ❤!!!!
I hate most superfluous things. But. Not. This.
That downshift at the end while spelling out LFA was just pure art
I can't recall a video with a more appropriate and memorable ending. I also thought Thomas was nearly brought to tears over the experience of driving the car.
@@LordPrometheous I know I sure would if I had the opportunity to drive it!

I'm not an emotional guy, but watching the exhilaration that Thomas and James experienced followed up with that LFA ending made my eyes well up. Exceptional video.

"It has to do with my philosophy as an engineer. I wanted to preserve an aggressive, emotional element. I wanted the LFA to deliver a euphoric experience. The driver would go to heaven in this car"- Chief Engineer Haruhiko Tanahashi
And it did
Mission accomplished.
Takes on a different meaning when it could easily be death at the speeds it does 😂
keeping how great a car the LFA is.. they way you've presented it.. the cinematography..the audio.. the editing.. it's soo engaging.. I felt like i'm in the car.. I had goosebumps.. and I know it will be 100x better in real life but the work you guys have put into this video is commendable.. great work guys..

This is what you call a comment! Cool one
It wont. They just dont use all the reputation this car gives them... They killed their sporting branch after making only one trully performant variant of their lineup, the is-f... Enthusiasts have nothing to look for at Lexus.
@@an-dr6eu don't they have the lc500? N/A v8 that sounds great?
It's amazing how the community reception towards this car has turned 180-degrees. From arguments over how it was barely faster than a GT-R back in the early 10's, to becoming one of the most desirable and amazing enthusiast cars ever made.
Yess and the hype is quite recent
It aged better than a fine wine
No shit. I liked it so much better when I was pretty much the only person whose favorite car it was :-/
Because these idiots finally realize there’s more to cars than 0 to 60 times.
I have always like the LFA, Richard did a great review of the car and Jeremy also drove it in the USA during a road trip.
Harrison's initial reaction is priceless. It really is something wonderful to see someone be so very happy and excited. It was surely the best surprise he's ever had. Well done.
I like the little wave by the LFA guy too :D
I watched that part a few times
i sometimes just watch that intro :)
Everyone went nuts and ignored the GT40 in the window 😭
And that f*ck you guys also comes from the inside of his heart 😂
I got to drive my friends LFA a handful of times, the car driven at normal commute speeds literally tells you that it’s bored. Still one of the most impressive cars i’ve ever driven.
I only drive a GR Yaris and it's always bored at those speeds aswell, sadly.
What other cars would you say can compare to the LFAs experience in your opinion
I was actually telling my friend two days that its my opinion the LFA has the best production engine ever made. I got to drive # 003, the first one publically available and that sound is something I'll never forget.

It will cost like $10M decades later I can guarantee that
And now it worth nearly a million dollar
And the GT=R did the opposite in a way.
@@s.z.x.01 it will, just wait another decade and by 2035 this car will fly from 5-10mil
Yeah that's bc you could choose two of 458, Gallardo, SLS new at the time for the price of a single LFA. Now speculators are buying it after seeing how low production numbers were and that V10.. crap smg like transmission for $800k no thanks
I’ve easily watched this 20 times. One thing I’m just realizing that I think is underappreciated.… it is extremely extremely hard to incorporate a musical soundtrack over an engine note like the LFAs, and not have it detract from the experience. The music selection, the timing, the volume modulation…all perfect. They somehow succeeded in making the drama and the experience of listening to the engine even greater. kudos.
Lmao dude, there is so much media out there that life is not long enough to experience a fraction of it, and you spent 20 minutes * 20 times rewatching this same video? Get a grip, man! It's just a car!

As a fun fact, the LFA had its first appearance not on the road but on a race (the Nurburgring 24H to be exact) of which they won their class multiple times. So there's one reason why the chassis (which most people overlook) is also great.
LFA on the game first appeared in Gran Turismo 5 as one of the 268 Premium cars.
I saw (but mostly heard) them compete at the Nurburgring. Hearing them howl through the forest over a mile away in the dead of night was truly haunting and spectacular. Over a field of 100+ race cars the LFAs were the ones you heard.
When you have an engine tuned by a company that specializes in creating the best musical sounds- that's when you know this thing is something special.

This car, literally, stirs up a million emotions, and any review with it in it, is pure art, euphoria, and an unadulterated representation of the passion of driving. Thank you, Lexus LFA.
The suits and ties who were against the LFA were right however, never underestimate the power of branding. Its the reason why the LFA will still never be as popular as a GTR or a Ferrari.
We were lucky that the LFA had the backing of the biggest car company in the world, otherwise the car wouldn't be finalize as it would have bankrupted many smaller companies before its launch.
But it's not even a manual, lmfao. Also, the LFA is illiterate and cannot read your comment.
Applause to director and camera guys. Such an amazing production from music to script. This is my favorite car review film and regardless of me being blown away by the vehicle which I was already aware of, I'm also gteatful for the work your team has done for this film. @@MsTiagosk8 You're wrong. LFA production years was 2011 to 2013. LFA broke the ring record in 2011. As I said LFA faster on the track than any McLaren F1, Enzo, Ferrari, Porsche, Zonda, Veyron, Lambo made before it and even the year after it started production.
@@oot007 You're too quick to call people wrong without doing some research, you think I don't know about the Ring record ? It was the Nürburgring editon LFA and Motortrend said it was actually the 4th fastest time, all this is easy to find ☺️
that last part with the downshift spelling out L F A gave me goosebumps! thank you Throttle House.
I got so many chills watching this video. What a vibe! The light rain along with the leaves falling made the perfect setting for this wonderful car.
Brings back memories of watching Clarkson drive it all those years ago, that sound will forever be iconic!
I remember watching that episode so vividly. The fact that the tac has to be digital because an analog tac couldn’t keep up with the speed the engine revs is insane. How could I forget
Hammond really didnt know what he was talking about then. His review was scathing
I was thinking back on the downshifts to Clarkson saying it sounded like an animal with it's paw trapped. Ow.....ow.....ow.
When Toyota sets its collective mind into creating a world-class car, it doesn't disappoint. If they had only treated the Supra to an all-Toyota effort. Great video.
It would have been an incredible car, no doubt. But fact is, that Supra would be a bad seller too :(
@@shahjalalalamabir5393 also as Toyota stated a fully in house developed Supra would have costed $90k
@@patrickmartin3322 at least it would’ve been good
If Toyota had actually taken the route of completely rebuilding the Supra from scratch then it wouldn’t have been cost effective considering how many they would’ve had to sell to justify the price tag. They had their reasoning for letting BMW basically do most of work for it, but it is a shame that as of now (in the US), the fastest vehicle Toyota makes which is actually from Toyota is the RAV4 prime. I’m assuming the new Tundra with the 3.5 liter twin turbo V6 and hybrid will be faster, but as of now, the fastest actual Toyota is a hybrid CUV (in the US). I don’t think it matters too much though. People don’t buy Toyotas because they think they’re fun to drive (the new lineup is actually pretty nice) or because they’re jam packed with all of these new features which a majority of people will never even use regularly. They buy these cars because they know it will last them a very long time with little to no trouble, and nobody wants to go out of their way to spend money on products that just don’t last
What about the GR Yaris?
How many times I have to watch this video to get bored .. all the respect to you guys
Not only the best car channel with the best entertainment channel. I wanted to join you as you knock down those gears. A bit of man juices actually came out to sis .Can't believe I've never seen this. My favourite car. The LFA down shifts at the end had me filled with joy , jealousy and tears , and the best end this video could of had.

this deserves an emmy award - the cinematography, the shots, the angles, the music, the narrative, all in unison to truly depict how epic the LFA really is. remarkable.

I’ve rewatched this video so many times just for the exhaust sound thank you
I think you guys enjoyed making this video more than any other, but gosh I enjoyed it so mush! LFA is my favorite car by far and I really enjoy your reviews but this is in another level. It is so emotional, so beautiful, so artistic. This review shows how capable you guys and your team are of making exceptional videos as Lexus showed how capable they are of making the most beautiful, amazing, perfect car ever. Thank you.
Still the BEST and MOST beautiful engine sound EVER. There's no other like it....
Word
Yea ppl compare it to Carrera GT which i feel just screams at high frequency like the engine is about to blow up but this makes a more refined deeper noise throughout the rev range.
@@dheerajmurthy393 Lexus worked with Yamaha on the exhaust if I’m not mistaken. And that sound is heavenly

And to think that it was in the production stage for just as long.
