The creation of the V10 was lead by Lexus' chief engine designer Okamoto Takamitsu. The engine starts life at Toyota's Myochi plant. It is at this plant that the engine block is made from molted aluminium. The block is then sent to Toyota's Honsha factory. The same factory that used to be Toyota's F1 engine facility. The block will get milled, drilled and polished and emerges as a precise engine block. In a sealed room Takumi’s hone every sharp edge using precision polishing tools. After this a highly skilled Takumi pre-assembles the finished engine blocks to check if they fit precisely. Disassembled they travel as unit to Yamaha’s Iwata city plant. It is at this plant that 4 highly skilled Yamaha Takumi’s fully assemble the V10. A process that takes 2,5 days for one engine. Before the engine gets put into an LFA, it undergoes a half day of exhaustive testing. When Toyota and Yamaha collaborate, greatness is made!
I'll have to be financially stable in every sense before purchasing my first supercar. The best thing to do with your money is to invest rightly because money left saving will end up with no returns.
No doubt being financially free and not having to worry much about hobbies and luxury leisures cannot be overemphasized, making smart plans and setting up diversified investment portfolios is quite essential.
you don't need that much, as long as you have 250k to 350k in cash, and earn at least 40k plus is fine. It not like you are going to pay the car off, get the car, drive it for a year or two then get something else. You don't need millions of money to enjoy nice things. By the time the car was released, it was old school, old news. By then we had dual clutch transmissions and other features that made the LFA obsolete. The exhaust and induction paired with Yamaha made this car sing. Amazing car with a beautiful engine and interior. ❤
It's neither obsolete nor delayed. Toyota only made 500 LFAs as it was a limited edition for their most loyal core racing fans. Since the LFA was an experimental vehicle, Toyota sold the car below the production cost. They lost money on the 500 vehicles, yet they gained experience with new materials and technologies. It's basically an experimental prototype for the benefit of their engineers/designers that was sold to the public.

A couple years ago, I think I saw one at a gas station near Lansing Michigan! Given Perry Michigan is not a bastion of super/hyper cars…it was quite remarkable!
I actually have a lapel mic on and another one by the exhaust on the car, still experimenting with this dual channel wireless setup, easiest way is to not talk during the revs 😊
The LFA’s exhaust they did a dyno run on it at Lexus and put champagne flutes behind the exhaust, higher RPM’s and they shattered. That was amazing to see!
Love the video! Thanks Brooks!! Just to clarify to people. This is how good it was, too fool many. The gauges is not a moving analog rev gauge. It’s actually a full digital gauge with the UI programed to move at the same time as a plastic gauge ring that sits on a motorized track in front of the screen. It’s pretty clever shit. They used these later in the Lexus IS’s. Also one cool note that was left out is these cars have a full carbon monocoque.
LFA!! followed by Carrara GT. something about the sound of a naturally aspirated V10 engine! Also, you pointed out all the carbon fiber parts. What you failed to mention is the entire body is constructed of carbon fiber underneath that beautiful paint. Not to mention Titanium connecting rods, valves, exhaust system. This allows the engine to rev higher and respond more quickly.
I live right next to Westpark. On the Eldridge/ westpark side. Heard a crazy engine whine and thought “damn, that sounds like an LFA, but no way”. If you’re serious then got damn
Geez I LOVE the INTERIOR of this one😍😍😍😍😍; NOTE how the red-line starts at around 7,000rpm when it's cold, & increases when it warms up - HOW COOL IS THAT!!!??? RTFM to find the park brake, lol... apparently this car has about a dozen User Manuals, for various parts of it - and one is just for how to clean it, & what NOT to do when you're cleaning it.. apparently the rear wing comes up automatically at around 50mph/80km/hr.. you have to be an absolute fanatic to buy one of these (which I ABSOLUTELY WOULD if I had the $$$, lol). Lexus had to sell these at a loss, to sell them at all - unbelievable, since they now go for more than their original price.. I just hope that the LFA has given the Lexus brand an immeasurable boost in the marketplace for luxury cars, & that the loss on each LFA has benefitted Lexus in the long run!! Just imagine this car with a modern dual-clutch shifter... come on Lexus, the 2020's are crying for an updated version of the LFA - just give us exactly the same car, same awesome V10, with a dual-clutch gearbox.. omgosh, what a MACHINE THAT would be 😍🤩🤯😵😵😵! Jeremy Clarkson said "I'm going to say it.. this is the best car I've ever driven!" - you must know, THAT doesn't come cheap..
This car was always under appreciated. In terms of V10s, I don't put this above the Carrera GT's but maaaaybe the V10 in the Huracan and it bumps the V10 found in the e60 M5 off the podium.
This machine is a real distinctive samurai with its v10. The sound is just a hurricane! Thank you very much for the review and greetings from Russia!)😉

A couple years ago, I think I saw one at a gas station near Lansing Michigan!
Given Perry Michigan is not a bastion of super/hyper cars…it was quite remarkable!
Sound is almost identical to my '98 F355 with stage 3 Capristo exhaust...love it!
It looks like it came out yesterday, truly insane.
legendary fucking collaboration. the LFA is a masterpiece.
Great review, small suggestion, maybe get a lapel mic, since the car noise is interfering with your voice audio.
I actually have a lapel mic on and another one by the exhaust on the car, still experimenting with this dual channel wireless setup, easiest way is to not talk during the revs 😊
@@DragTimes Keep it up. Love your stuff, and your love of all vehicles, ICE and EV.
Best exaust sound ever heard❤ I like this car 👏❤️Toyota thanks so much for the ballad
The LFA’s exhaust they did a dyno run on it at Lexus and put champagne flutes behind the exhaust, higher RPM’s and they shattered. That was amazing to see!
The interior on this one is amazing!
Also one cool note that was left out is these cars have a full carbon monocoque.
yea, I meant it mechanically moves.... instead of just one big screen....
LFA!! followed by Carrara GT. something about the sound of a naturally aspirated V10 engine! Also, you pointed out all the carbon fiber parts. What you failed to mention is the entire body is constructed of carbon fiber underneath that beautiful paint. Not to mention Titanium connecting rods, valves, exhaust system. This allows the engine to rev higher and respond more quickly.
The whole body is made of carbon fiber too which is nuts love that the most right after the sound
i really want to hear this in person someday. It already sounds great behind my tiny computer speakers, i can't imagine how it sounds in real life
Congratulations on the dealership. This car sounds incredible for that kind of money I think I would go for something else but super cool car.
The LFA will be legendary forever I just dont understand why it took people so long to understand how special this car is
It's an absolutely beautiful incredible piece of machinery! Thank you for sharing. I love it!!!
Had one fly past me on westpark tollway in Houston a few days ago. Sounds beautiful.
I live right next to Westpark. On the Eldridge/ westpark side. Heard a crazy engine whine and thought “damn, that sounds like an LFA, but no way”.
If you’re serious then got damn
@@mofomanx10 lmao that was definitely it then
Amazing beautiful car
I like how he shows me where to put the hood prop like I’m ever going to have to look for it when I get my LFA 🤣🤣
One of the best sounding cars ever! This is a gem.
Music to my ears! Thanks for sharing ❤
In my opinion, the LFA is the greatest sounding car ever made. Even other V10s don’t sound like it. It is a completely unique sound experience.
This car was always under appreciated. In terms of V10s, I don't put this above the Carrera GT's but maaaaybe the V10 in the Huracan and it bumps the V10 found in the e60 M5 off the podium.
red or baige, pls pick one. love the LFA in white. such a unique, intriguing vehicle
This machine is a real distinctive samurai with its v10. The sound is just a hurricane! Thank you very much for the review and greetings from Russia!)😉
Wow absolutely incredible. Why though wouldn't they make this a manual or at least a DCT?
Manual Lfa would be peak. Would be a multi million dollar car already.
That single glutch adds to the rawness of this vehicle
Parking brake is underneath the dash down in the footwell sorta by where your knees would be
Definitely one of the best sounding V10 cars.
Super sports are fantastic!!!
