"One can never be too blatantly Sherlock trash"
-Bernadette Banner herself
Oh the irony you are German and own a vintage singer and I’am a American with a vintage pfaff 😂😂😂.
I don't know if it could ever happen, but I would love to see you and Bernadette Banner together in your Sherlock Holmes apparel!
Oh, I'd love that, too. It would be a dream come true meeting her, but first I should finish my outfit I guess. 😅
Dude! You are really putting out some valuable content to the vintage crowd. I think its ever harder to find vintage mens wear, than it is for the women. Having new garments is the way to go. Thanks for sharing!
The men's items are better quality though. High prices, yes, but made with pure wool, cotton, silk etc and made in the country of sale, not cheap labour abroad. The women's items I find might be made to original vintage patterns and with high prices but with cheaper quality fabrics that don't match those extortionate prices: low content wool mixes; polyester etc and made abroad using very cheap labour. You chaps are getting more for your money.
You had me at "I'm an idiot." 😂 I am definitely going to continue watching your videos. I love your style (not to mention, you're very handsome). Also I LOVE your tiny ironing board! I've always used the full-sized kind, but I think I would really enjoy the convenience of a tabletop one.
Excellent video, I am loving the sewing tutorials. I don’t know about others but I would be very interested in seeing your Viking LARP gear.
I'd love a video on different toe shapes of shoes! Their history, formality, when to wear? Keep up the great content!
I do enjoy LARP myself, so it would be great to also see your LARP gear.
You did a fantastic job, I'm here after my grandpa showed an old, old pair of spats my great grandfather used to wear. It's made of a soft leather but some the buttons cracked and the strap became brittle but the over all shape is still good and its wonderful learning about them and old fashion.
I think my bicycling outfit could do with a pair of spats and I think I have a small leftover piece of wool fabric I can use. Thank you very much for the tutorial. I will now go and watch the flat caps video.
BTW, what you refer to as an edge seam is usually called 'top stitching'.
I don't make men's wear, but I am loving your channel. Charming and informative.
Awesome! I have been wanting to make some spats, maybe out of oilskin, to wear since it is so muddy where I live.
LARPing, Vintage making... It's very astonishing and I love making these stuff. And thank you for showing me, to make spats.
Yes finally a great instruction video on spat sewing. I have looked for it for ages. Vielen dank aus Tschechien.
Hehah the reach of a certain Miss Banner is amazing.
This is some next level content. Good job and a fantastic guide.
Another great video. If you want to do a LARP video I will of course watch it. I'll watch anything you put out! Tiny English tip: It might have just been a slip of the tongue but thread is used for sewing while yarn is used for knitting, so you have brown thread there.
I really like ankle boots, as they protect my ankles from the slicing wind in the Hills where I live. They are however, quite hard to find for men and can be pretty expensive. The thought that I could create boots from normal shoes is amazing! What a cracking video!
Lol the lady sherlock series from banner was awsome
I'd love to see your larping gear! Wonderful videos, not a lot on men's vintage clothes, glad to see your channel
I would love to see more about your LARP! My home LARP is arcana/steampunk and the aesthetic makes me so happy 😁
Ive always liked the look of spats after seeing George Raft as 'Spats Columbo' in the movie Some Like It Hot ! I'd like to have a go at making a pair!
Yess! I've been waiting for this since i saw it from your instagram!
Very nice!
I like the military spats from WW2, they work great when i mow the lawn, now my boots are gonna last a little longer, but like all things there are down sides, build up of heat and keeping them clean😅
Aren't spats for the protection of the feet from rain and mud? Well some of them are white in colour, that makes it dirtier, so brown is better!
I think generals and cavalry wore white spats, and soldiers in marching parades, everyone else had to be practical or wash their clothes too often
Surprising to hear from a tailor without a button collection.
Yes, do a video about that viking gear for curiosity sake.
Excellent content. Would love to see some of your LARP gear as I too LARP :)
Interested in the LARP gear as well, thank you
Yes, please make a video about your Viking gear!
good project
I hope to make some in leather
once the quarantine is over ))
Look on eBay you can get a vintage singer buttonhole maker . They fasten to your presser feet and a cover plate goes over the feed dogs . They even make proper keyhole ones .
I'll look into that!
Vintagebursche 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I have already made a detachable collar with the help of your video on the topic. I personally would buy your book if it were translated in czech language. Once more vielen dank.
Nice video, really enjoying the DIY content! Spats look really nice, and in my opinion these little mistakes are what make DIY videos so valuable - we DIY youtubers can make mistakes so that others dont have to. Sent you an email, since I live in Aachen amd maybe we can help each other out?
Irgendwann vielleicht. ☺️
Great video. Greetings from Peru 👋👋👋
perfecto
The thing you can make yourself ;)
Ich habe noch nie ein Kleidungsstück selbst genäht aber irgendwie würde es mich doch mal reizen.
i whould love if you did sometinge whit larping (sorry for my sbeling) love your content
Make a video about The canes
Let's see you and the Welsh Viking discuss your Viking LARP equipment. :)
Excellent, and I just pre-ordered the book. A technical question about it - as an E-book I assume we'll have to print the pattern sheet ourselves, and as I am currently in the U.S., we use the antiquated 8.5 x 11 size paper, rather than the A4 the EU uses. Will there be a way to print the pattern sheet on both sizes of paper? (This has caused me issues in the past).
Many congratulations on your channel. Keep up the fine work!
Thanks for your purchase!
The pattern pdfs have the original big format (ca. 90x150cm). So when you use Adobe Reader to print, you can use the poster mode to slice it into the format of your printer. You can also define some overlap to ease putting the different pages together.
Question, where could I find the dressing gown in the intro or one like it?
The shape is a bit off, but it's alright if you adjust the pattern and change the lining for leather strips.
👍🏻 It's a good way to hide a modern shoe, i think. Maybe i will try this out for me sometime.. 🤔
Lovely spats .Do you mind to talk about 10s Scottish kilt
I don't know much about kilts tbh.
Kannst du mal ein Video machen von den weissen Gamaschen?Das wäre mega toll?
Hi Niklas, how did you start to get traction on RUclips? I love your videos which are really well made and informative and I also love your style.
Well, I guess I brought some people over from Instagram and was lucky with two video ideas (Pitti Uomo and Peaky Blinders).
Okay thanks very much keep up the great videos.
Please make a mens corset!
Yeah, that's actually on my list.
@@Vintagebursche Excellent! Looking forward to it!
You have a beautiful sewing machine. What kind is it?
It's a Singer 401 G
Maybe you can try to make a vest!!
Bought your book (the PDF) yesterday, haven't recieved anything as of yet, did something go arseways?
Write me an email with your order number
Are the buttons decorative with the spats closed using hooks?
Closed
Mal wieder ein absolut informatives Lichtbilderzeugnis =D Könntest du eventuell ein How to make Knickerbocker machen? würde mir helfen =P und falls ich es übersehen habe sei es mir bitte verziehen ^^
Danke danke.
@@Vintagebursche Vielen herzlichsten dank! Da wird doch gleich mal gestöbert ^^ freu mich schon drauf!
😃
What fabric did you use for the white spats?
Natural white twill wool
@@Vintagebursche thank you for the quick response, the spats turned out real great!
Please can you share the pattern
I'm not the only one who needs a hairdresser)
Thanks to Corona my gf had to try cutting my hair, but without her try I would look even worse.
@@Vintagebursche Now I know what skills my future gf should have
Where can I get the pattern?
vintagebursche.de/produkt/pre-order-sewing-vintage-menswear-international-edition/?lang=en
Can I just buy spats? I don't want to have to make them.
