They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 Yes, Boca means "mouth" in Spanish and Portuguese and is part 2 of the Dystopia trilogy, which deals with bullying and hate comments, in particular the online variant ("A trick behind a mask, a ridiculous freak" from Scream). Boca has the lines "Why do you fill your precious time with hate" and "Too many angels dying now", which points to the effects those comments can have. Several Kpop idols have committed suicide in recent years, most likely because of cyber-bullying, but this is also about all the unnamed people who suffer from online bullies. A girlgroup tackling such a subject impresses the hell out of me. They literally go to war in this video and tell haters to go and shut their "Boca" in the lyrics. And the song is absolutely awesome! Who said you can't have three different musical genres in one song? Scream is part 1 of the Dystopia trilogy. It is mostly showing the victim's perspective of (cyber)bullying, comparing it to a medieval witch hunt and a burning at the stake. The tree is the tree of language, and it grows black fruit for every hurtful thing people say. Note also the hand gesture, it is the devil's horns introduced by Ronnie James Dio as a symbol for metal, but it originally was a gesture in the middle ages to ward off the evil eye, tying into the witch hunt theme. I really enjoy the music, it's rock mixed with EDM. Dreamcatcher are always very creative, and they are in their own genre by this point. The reason why you are confused about the members is that Handong, their Chinese member, was stuck in China due to the pandemic for these two songs. So they are seven. During Scream they had a dancer stand in for Handong with a mask. "Bon Voyage" is the 3rd and final part of the Apocalypse trilogy, which is about the destruction of the environment by humanity. The members have mentioned that it is about giving nature a break. Any encounter between human beings always has separation attached to it as well, just as death is a part of life. SuA also said that the fluffy floating thing that Dami summons from her painting is a cell, representing nature. It has been named "Celly" and is adorable, right? My dark mind believes that they are saying "Have a good trip" to humanity, since we are well on our way of wiping ourselves out. It's like a breakup between humanity and the earth. Once humanity is gone, nature gets the break it needs and the circle will begin again. For me, the key to understanding the lyrics is that they are singing as human beings, not as a single person. And they are singing to nature, confessing their love and the realization that we are not good for nature and that it probably resents us. It could also be the other way round (them singing as mother nature to humanity). SuA jumping out after the dove seem to represent their desire for peace. The story of the MV seems to be that the rest of humanity has sheltered away under force fields after the apocalypse. This gives nature time to heal. Musically I can already say this is one of their best songs for me. The chorus slaps hard, and the variations between heavy and slow are just beautiful. It has emotion and impact at the same time. Putting JiU's sweet voice together with an acoustic guitar is simply genius. "Vision" is part 2 of the Apocalypse trilogy. I believe they are showing us the perspective from the future in this series, showing us how the earth looks like when we keep acting like we do. While "Maison" was talking about the destruction of the environment, here they seem to be talking about the destruction due to war. I don't know if that was the idea from the beginning, but Putin's aggression definitely played a role here. In one set they even dance in front of what looks sort of like a huge trident, which is the coat of arms of Ukraine (could be a coincidence though, or this is me seeing things). It is easy to see how the conflict in Ukraine could result in global destruction. It's just a push of a button away. Note that Dami presses a launch button, but it's not for nukes. It's for spreading their message, their vision. Peace. To be heard all around the world. The song is also a call for action, to stand together against aggressors and those who are destroying the planet out of greed. There is not much difference between someone leading an army or a corporation, if the result is destruction. Still, Dami said the intention is to resolve the problems in a peaceful way. So, what do we do? There is no easy answer. Dami has an outfit that shows that perfectly. One half is an innocent bridal dress, the other half is simply badass. What I know is that any aggressor only listens to very limited diplomacy, and they need to know that the good in the world is ready and willing to fight them if needed. Whoever the aggressor is, we are more than them. They need to know they will never succeed, the only option is peace. By the way, my interpretation could be completely wrong, any other theory is perfectly valid as well. Musically, it's heavier than Maison, and I feel it fits the subject matter very well. It sounds aggressive and heavy, but also soft and vulnerable. There is the duality again. And I love the fake keychange at the end of the chorus, the crazy bass and the guitar in the bridge. All in all this is a fantastic release!
I had a very hard time figuring out which one was Yoohyeon and which one was Handong, cause I had no idea Handong was absent from Scream and Boca because of the pandemic (she did a survival show in China and then the lockdown happened so she was stuck there). In reality there's 7 of them, Scream and Boca are just exceptions. A dancer did her part in both choreos cause they were hoping she'd be back in time, so she wore a mask. Unfortunately she could only go back for Odd Eye (part 3 of the trilogy). Speaking of, I fully recommend reacting to Odd Eye, BEcause and Deja Vu, they're some of my favorite Dreamcatcher songs. Of course there's a lot more amazing songs (B sides too, they're really versatile and talented). There's also dance practices and live performances that would be great to watch. Scream, Boca and Odd Eye are essentially about bullying. The Dystopia storyline follows "hear no evil" (Scream), "speak no evil" (Boca) and "see no evil" (Odd Eye).
Dreamcatcher have 7 members...only 6 member appear in Scream & Boca Era, coz one of the member, Handong went back to China to attend a reality show & eventually got stuck there when CV19 pandemic crisis happen. She able to return to South Korea about a year later.

Dreamcatcher are 7 badass and lovable crackheads. If you look at the release date of Scream and Boca, you should remember what was happening in the world at that time. Handong was away for probably a year. She returned to China to participate in a survival TV show, but after that, she was unable to return to Korea during the travel restriction period. Luckily, she returned just in time for the final part of the Dysopia trilogy: Odd Eye.
There are already a lot of comments explaining the missing member and talking about the group, so instead of facts I'll just give my thoughts about them lmao. There is not a single topic where Dreamcatcher isn't the example to be followed in this industry and that is actually amazing. Like, what we should want from the k-pop industry? Live vocals? Dreamcatcher has it Great Choreo? Dreamcatcher has it Well produced songs? Dreamcatcher has it A company that gives them freedom to be who they are and feels like a family? Dreamcatcher Company Amazing performances? Dreamcatcher has it Creating your own identity instead of following trends? That's Dreamcatcher in a nutshell Always feeding your fandom with love and content? No one does like Dreamcatcher. They are 7 years active without any controversy, they renewed their contracts for more and they are the only girl group who had at least 2 comebacks every year since debut for 7 years now. They had tough times but never give up and now hold the record for most days between debut and their first music show win (now they already have 4 despite being from a small company and doing a unique sound and concept)
@@jemmpark 100%. They are NICE and KIND people so that is a huge influence on the fandom (InSomnia). It's not just us fans who think so; there are plenty of other Idols and Soloists who meet DC at the shows and they ALL have something positive to say about DC or even just about specific members. There are many videos about that subject: Idols who fangirl or fanboy over Dreamcatcher (or other similar titles). Maybe even specifically named Idols or Soloists who fan over DC. Dreamcatcher's staff are the same way, from their backup dancers to their stylists to their set designers to their building maintenance crew. EVERYBODY likes these ladies. Best yet, there is at least one video of one of the support staff who works at one of the specific buildings where the big shows are held, not even involved with Dream Catcher Company; JiU approached her and they became friends. None of the group members are conceited to where they would refuse to talk with anybody. They don't see 'class' or nationality other 'boundaries' like that; they see people, fellow Human Beings. They are so awesome as just normal people, it's really more difficult NOT to like them. Nobody deserves to succeed like NICE, KIND people deserve to succeed. :)
The captions with their names is due to the active fan base at the time when RUclips allowed viewers to submit captions and the channel owner would only need to review and approve. It's how the fans contributed to Dreamcatcher's early MVs and helps spread their success worldwide. Scream has 43 language captions and BOCA has 33. Where else does any other groups have MVs with that many languages? There are still some groups that don't even get captions, so the fandom was killing it then. Unfortunately due to RUclips removing that feature their recent videos only have English and Korean.

For a guide, I recommend the extensive 2023 guide. It's just as good as the ultimate 2021/2022 guide but up to date (to Bon Voyage era). As many will tell you, their bsides include all genres. In fact, their Korean discography, aside from title tracks, are probably only a quarter rock or just over a quarter lol they do it all! I highly recommend. You hear those vocals, you can imagine how they sound across genres 👌🏾

Along with those they also have Japanese ones too. Their B sides are a different beast altogether where they have experimented with several genres, and they don't disappoint one bit. Before Dreamcatcher, they were Minx, which consisted of 5 members: JiU, SuA, Siyeon, Yoohyeon, and Dami. Minx debuted in 2014 with a cute bubble pop theme. They were literally up against the biggest groups you see today, and failed miserably, lasting just 2 years. The company, HappyFace Entertainment, seeing their talent, decided to re debut them with 2 new members Handong and Gahyeon, in 2017 with an entirely different concept which was unheard of in kpop then. And that's how Dreamcatcher was born.

When you start to delve deeper into Dreamcatcher (and I deliberately say 'when', not 'if') you will surely also notice their versatility. While all their title-tracks incorporate the rock element that has become their signature sound, their b-sides are just as good (because Talent!) but cover many different genres from beautiful ballads, reggae, jazz, soul and EDM, to straight up metal. And yes, they absolutely shine with a live band. Another reason why their fanbase is as dedicated as is it, are the members personalities. In an industry that can rely heavily on popularity, trends and image, Dreamcatcher have always been unapologetically their authentic selves with the support of their company. And their authentic selves are hilarious. Absolute professionals on stage, absolute agents of chaos off stage, which has made them much loved guests at variety shows. It's a shortened nickname of Dreamcatcher based on the Korean pronunciation of their group name, 드림캐쳐 (Deu Rim Kae Chyeo). The nickname is the first syllable (Deu) and third syllable (Kae) so it's Deukae.

yes, they incorporate rock in every title track, but sometimes b-sides also have rock.. in general they do everything.. ballad, funk, jazz, reggae, EDM, drum-bass, symphonic, rock, metal, nu metal, pop, punk, you name it.. and they always do mixmatch like rock-ballad, rock-EDM, funk-jazz, symphonic rock, pop punk.. and mostly they do the transition way so smooth.. also all 7 of them can sing, but for rap in their discography, yes Dami is the main.. if the song has rap part, she always take it.. the other one(s) is either SuA, Gahyeon, or both. BOCA Scream with Gahyeon, Vision with SuA, Bonvoyage Dami alone in rap talking mode. and yes they're 7, Handong is the Chinese member, she joined a survival show in China, she supposed to be back for their first full album but you know what happened back in 2020, despite she got eliminated from the show kinda early, she couldn't fly back to Korea bcs of closed border.. so the whole 2020 dreamcatcher releases were produced without her.. so she was missing in 1 full album (with Scream), 1 EP (with BOCA), 1 JP single (Endless Night), 1 game collab song (R.o.S.E Blue), and 1 "pre-release" JP single (No More, which later included in Eclipse EP with 3 songs and 3 instrumentals, kinda felt weird since she's there but not in 1 song)

I'd recommend rewatching it as Deja Vu is one of the greatest masterpiece from Dreamcatcher. Also it's not part of any storyline so there's no prequel or sequel to it.

You want melodic rock you should check out carnival of rust by poets of the fall. Handong was absent for 2 comebacks because she went to China for a survival show and then got stuck there due to covid restrictions. They had a masked dancer for her parts in Scream but let it be for Boca. She learnt the choreo for scream, red sun and black or white (both of which they promoted with scream) as well as boca. She also has vocal parts in all the songs that were released during her absence, including a japanese ost for an anime and rose blue which was a collab with a video game. She was later made the main character of their special clip for poison love when she came back. She also has 3 solo songs (the most out of all of them rn), Siyeon (main vocalist) will be releasing her own 3rd solo song this month and all of them have one solo song each that they have production, composition and writing credits on. Dami has also released 3 unofficial solo compositions and Sua, their main dancer does a lot of their choreography. This is aside from Siyeon, Dami and Sua's osts.

Bonvoyage was actually such a refreshing song because it was a recent title that they released that gave that old Dreamcatcher feel, it was like a mix of old dreamcatcher and new Dreamcatcher so it was fun hearing that old dreamcatcher again. You should definitely watch the dance practices, Dreamcatcher have some the hardest choreos, powerful, tiring and also known for being very synchronized.

The reason you're confused of their lore and story is because you watched 2 of each, all switched, from different stories. Bon Voyage is a love song for Mother Earth. You watched the ending of their Apocalypse trilogy about the environmental crisis, then watched Vision, which is part 2. In one of the articles they referred to VillainS as part of the Versus duology. While the Album cover spells out Versus, the capitalized V and S represents the Versus in the short form of the album title VillainS. So perhaps the next one will follow the V-S pattern and be something like VictorS or whatever, but sometimes you can't predict what DC will do.

If this is one you want to get to know better, you have a long way to go. No worries, I think you will like it. I saw the Guide reaction you put up recently. Aside from their official YT channel, which contains all their content, there is another channel called insomniscy that has followed this group very closely over the years. They have multiple solo guides for each member, even one per year. Their titles contain their core sound, but hidden in their discography is a lot of experimentation. Should you decide to listen to entire albums NEVER skip the intro. Trust me, their intros almost never disappoint. Good luck.
Sua is Dreamcatcher's dancer and f you want a proof haha watch Tadow or Copycat dance cover from Sua and you will never be the same haha she is unreal. The masked dancer in Scream is symbolizing Handong, the 7th member who couldnt joined them for Scream and Boca. The girls on purpose left the place in a choreo for her, basically saying " there is always a place for Handong in Dreamcatcher". She returns in Odd Eye, the third and last partof the Dystopia Trilogy - which is about bullying. Sua singing "too many angels dying now" hits different when you realize how many kpop idols took their own lives or died tragically in young age due to the massive hate they have recived. One thing about Dreamcatcher - they always deliver important message with each title track.

it's not everyone's favourite way to watch reactions, and it's hard to catch everything in one viewing. I think most will be pleased with MV + Dance practice. Their choreographies are fun; levels, ripples, synchronization, reveals, and nice transitions. They have a great balance of graceful to powerful. Reason is a fan thank you song to InSomnias (their fans). It’s kind of a memory lane MV, showing the, through the highs and lows, and performances on tour. A lot of people like BEcause, which was their version of a summer song, as a bit of a tribute to a Jordan Peel movie involving doppelgängers replacing their counterparts using an abandoned theme park as the conduit. Great, creepy doll vibes and vivid colors. Ty for your time reacting to them. Oh, the Dystopia trilogy is about our neglect of the planet.
There are dance practice videos, I would recommend the fixed camera ones because that way you get to see what they are up to. They are also quite complicated, as you have already seen Vision I would suggest that as a good comparison. Their B sides are also very good, different but good.
Welcome to the Dreamworld. Dreamcatcher is a kpop group with a rock dominated genre in all of their title tracks and a diverse genre on all their b tracks. Kinda underrated in Korea on their early years. Cause rock is not that embraced in South Korea. But now they are currently gaining spotlight and last December 12 I think, they have won. The best choice award during the Asia Arts Awards held in the Philippines.
Dreamcatcher is Third Gen, but most of their increased popularity has occurred during the Fourth Gen. They only got their first music show win last year with Maison.

You got it. "Scream", "Boca" and "Odd Eye" is a trilogy about cyber-bullying. 7 members, but one of them (Handong) was stuck in China for almost the whole 2020 when Sream and Boca were released.(the dancer with the mask represented her)
For a dance practice without other dancers, at the top of my head, I suggest "Good Night" (one of their very firsts and best) and "Wind Blows" (a B-side track, but a very powerfull choreography).

They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉
Yes, Boca means "mouth" in Spanish and Portuguese and is part 2 of the Dystopia trilogy, which deals with bullying and hate comments, in particular the online variant ("A trick behind a mask, a ridiculous freak" from Scream). Boca has the lines "Why do you fill your precious time with hate" and "Too many angels dying now", which points to the effects those comments can have. Several Kpop idols have committed suicide in recent years, most likely because of cyber-bullying, but this is also about all the unnamed people who suffer from online bullies. A girlgroup tackling such a subject impresses the hell out of me. They literally go to war in this video and tell haters to go and shut their "Boca" in the lyrics. And the song is absolutely awesome! Who said you can't have three different musical genres in one song?
Scream is part 1 of the Dystopia trilogy. It is mostly showing the victim's perspective of (cyber)bullying, comparing it to a medieval witch hunt and a burning at the stake. The tree is the tree of language, and it grows black fruit for every hurtful thing people say. Note also the hand gesture, it is the devil's horns introduced by Ronnie James Dio as a symbol for metal, but it originally was a gesture in the middle ages to ward off the evil eye, tying into the witch hunt theme. I really enjoy the music, it's rock mixed with EDM. Dreamcatcher are always very creative, and they are in their own genre by this point.
The reason why you are confused about the members is that Handong, their Chinese member, was stuck in China due to the pandemic for these two songs. So they are seven. During Scream they had a dancer stand in for Handong with a mask.
"Bon Voyage" is the 3rd and final part of the Apocalypse trilogy, which is about the destruction of the environment by humanity. The members have mentioned that it is about giving nature a break. Any encounter between human beings always has separation attached to it as well, just as death is a part of life. SuA also said that the fluffy floating thing that Dami summons from her painting is a cell, representing nature. It has been named "Celly" and is adorable, right?
My dark mind believes that they are saying "Have a good trip" to humanity, since we are well on our way of wiping ourselves out. It's like a breakup between humanity and the earth. Once humanity is gone, nature gets the break it needs and the circle will begin again. For me, the key to understanding the lyrics is that they are singing as human beings, not as a single person. And they are singing to nature, confessing their love and the realization that we are not good for nature and that it probably resents us. It could also be the other way round (them singing as mother nature to humanity).
SuA jumping out after the dove seem to represent their desire for peace.
The story of the MV seems to be that the rest of humanity has sheltered away under force fields after the apocalypse. This gives nature time to heal.
Musically I can already say this is one of their best songs for me. The chorus slaps hard, and the variations between heavy and slow are just beautiful. It has emotion and impact at the same time. Putting JiU's sweet voice together with an acoustic guitar is simply genius.
"Vision" is part 2 of the Apocalypse trilogy. I believe they are showing us the perspective from the future in this series, showing us how the earth looks like when we keep acting like we do. While "Maison" was talking about the destruction of the environment, here they seem to be talking about the destruction due to war. I don't know if that was the idea from the beginning, but Putin's aggression definitely played a role here. In one set they even dance in front of what looks sort of like a huge trident, which is the coat of arms of Ukraine (could be a coincidence though, or this is me seeing things).
It is easy to see how the conflict in Ukraine could result in global destruction. It's just a push of a button away. Note that Dami presses a launch button, but it's not for nukes. It's for spreading their message, their vision. Peace. To be heard all around the world. The song is also a call for action, to stand together against aggressors and those who are destroying the planet out of greed. There is not much difference between someone leading an army or a corporation, if the result is destruction. Still, Dami said the intention is to resolve the problems in a peaceful way.
So, what do we do? There is no easy answer. Dami has an outfit that shows that perfectly. One half is an innocent bridal dress, the other half is simply badass. What I know is that any aggressor only listens to very limited diplomacy, and they need to know that the good in the world is ready and willing to fight them if needed. Whoever the aggressor is, we are more than them. They need to know they will never succeed, the only option is peace.
By the way, my interpretation could be completely wrong, any other theory is perfectly valid as well.
Musically, it's heavier than Maison, and I feel it fits the subject matter very well. It sounds aggressive and heavy, but also soft and vulnerable. There is the duality again. And I love the fake keychange at the end of the chorus, the crazy bass and the guitar in the bridge. All in all this is a fantastic release!

I had a very hard time figuring out which one was Yoohyeon and which one was Handong, cause I had no idea Handong was absent from Scream and Boca because of the pandemic (she did a survival show in China and then the lockdown happened so she was stuck there). In reality there's 7 of them, Scream and Boca are just exceptions. A dancer did her part in both choreos cause they were hoping she'd be back in time, so she wore a mask. Unfortunately she could only go back for Odd Eye (part 3 of the trilogy).
Speaking of, I fully recommend reacting to Odd Eye, BEcause and Deja Vu, they're some of my favorite Dreamcatcher songs. Of course there's a lot more amazing songs (B sides too, they're really versatile and talented). There's also dance practices and live performances that would be great to watch.
Scream, Boca and Odd Eye are essentially about bullying. The Dystopia storyline follows "hear no evil" (Scream), "speak no evil" (Boca) and "see no evil" (Odd Eye).
Dreamcatcher have 7 members...only 6 member appear in Scream & Boca Era, coz one of the member, Handong went back to China to attend a reality show & eventually got stuck there when CV19 pandemic crisis happen. She able to return to South Korea about a year later.

Dreamcatcher are 7 badass and lovable crackheads. If you look at the release date of Scream and Boca, you should remember what was happening in the world at that time. Handong was away for probably a year. She returned to China to participate in a survival TV show, but after that, she was unable to return to Korea during the travel restriction period. Luckily, she returned just in time for the final part of the Dysopia trilogy: Odd Eye.

@@jemmpark 100%. They are NICE and KIND people so that is a huge influence on the fandom (InSomnia). It's not just us fans who think so; there are plenty of other Idols and Soloists who meet DC at the shows and they ALL have something positive to say about DC or even just about specific members.
There are many videos about that subject: Idols who fangirl or fanboy over Dreamcatcher (or other similar titles). Maybe even specifically named Idols or Soloists who fan over DC. Dreamcatcher's staff are the same way, from their backup dancers to their stylists to their set designers to their building maintenance crew. EVERYBODY likes these ladies.
Best yet, there is at least one video of one of the support staff who works at one of the specific buildings where the big shows are held, not even involved with Dream Catcher Company; JiU approached her and they became friends. None of the group members are conceited to where they would refuse to talk with anybody. They don't see 'class' or nationality other 'boundaries' like that; they see people, fellow Human Beings. They are so awesome as just normal people, it's really more difficult NOT to like them.

The captions with their names is due to the active fan base at the time when RUclips allowed viewers to submit captions and the channel owner would only need to review and approve. It's how the fans contributed to Dreamcatcher's early MVs and helps spread their success worldwide. Scream has 43 language captions and BOCA has 33. Where else does any other groups have MVs with that many languages? There are still some groups that don't even get captions, so the fandom was killing it then. Unfortunately due to RUclips removing that feature their recent videos only have English and Korean.

insomnicsy is AMAZING and such a sweetheart! THE BEST fan channel on RUclips concerning ANY group, I swear! She's so positive and she puts the group in such a positive light! The DreamCatcher Company is lucky to have insomnicsy do what she does because it absolutely is free advertisement for the group.They really should be paying her for her great effort at helping to get these ladies into the Western market. As many will tell you, their bsides include all genres. In fact, their Korean discography, aside from title tracks, are probably only a quarter rock or just over a quarter lol they do it all! I highly recommend. You hear those vocals, you can imagine how they sound across genres 👌🏾
They are seven, but Handong took some time of to go back to china. So there is about a year were there are only six members.
Boca is the second part of thir second storyline wich goes against online bulllying. Scream would be the start of this story 😛
Same with Bon Voyage and Vision, Vision is the second, Bon Voyage the last part of their last story.
They started 2015 as MINXX and re-debut 2017 as DC, so 3rd Gen.

These all are their Korean tracks. Along with those they also have Japanese ones too. Their B sides are a different beast altogether where they have experimented with several genres, and they don't disappoint one bit.
Before Dreamcatcher, they were Minx, which consisted of 5 members: JiU, SuA, Siyeon, Yoohyeon, and Dami. Minx debuted in 2014 with a cute bubble pop theme. They were literally up against the biggest groups you see today, and failed miserably, lasting just 2 years. The company, HappyFace Entertainment, seeing their talent, decided to re debut them with 2 new members Handong and Gahyeon, in 2017 with an entirely different concept which was unheard of in kpop then. And that's how Dreamcatcher was born.

Glad you already noticed their incredible vocals, visuals and powerful choreography.
When you start to delve deeper into Dreamcatcher (and I deliberately say 'when', not 'if') you will surely also notice their versatility. While all their title-tracks incorporate the rock element that has become their signature sound, their b-sides are just as good (because Talent!) but cover many different genres from beautiful ballads, reggae, jazz, soul and EDM, to straight up metal. And yes, they absolutely shine with a live band.
Another reason why their fanbase is as dedicated as is it, are the members personalities. In an industry that can rely heavily on popularity, trends and image, Dreamcatcher have always been unapologetically their authentic selves with the support of their company. And their authentic selves are hilarious. Absolute professionals on stage, absolute agents of chaos off stage, which has made them much loved guests at variety shows.
In short: Dreamcatcher, you come for the music, you stay for the members.

You can also call them Deukae for short. Deukae is a nickname for Dreamcatcher. It's a shortened nickname of Dreamcatcher based on the Korean pronunciation of their group name, 드림캐쳐 (Deu Rim Kae Chyeo). The nickname is the first syllable (Deu) and third syllable (Kae) so it's Deukae.

I noticed you bopping along to snippets of BEcause, which was a summer stand alone title track that is honestly an underrated favorite and I highly recommend giving that one a listen if you dont want to commit to a full trilogy reaction or storyline deep dive yet
yes, they incorporate rock in every title track, but sometimes b-sides also have rock.. in general they do everything.. ballad, funk, jazz, reggae, EDM, drum-bass, symphonic, rock, metal, nu metal, pop, punk, you name it.. and they always do mixmatch like rock-ballad, rock-EDM, funk-jazz, symphonic rock, pop punk.. and mostly they do the transition way so smooth..
also all 7 of them can sing, but for rap in their discography, yes Dami is the main.. if the song has rap part, she always take it.. the other one(s) is either SuA, Gahyeon, or both. BOCA Scream with Gahyeon, Vision with SuA, Bonvoyage Dami alone in rap talking mode.
and yes they're 7, Handong is the Chinese member, she joined a survival show in China, she supposed to be back for their first full album but you know what happened back in 2020, despite she got eliminated from the show kinda early, she couldn't fly back to Korea bcs of closed border.. so the whole 2020 dreamcatcher releases were produced without her.. so she was missing in 1 full album (with Scream), 1 EP (with BOCA), 1 JP single (Endless Night), 1 game collab song (R.o.S.E Blue), and 1 "pre-release" JP single (No More, which later included in Eclipse EP with 3 songs and 3 instrumentals, kinda felt weird since she's there but not in 1 song)

10:51 so yea it seems you've watched Deja Vu but that could be from a while ago. I'd recommend rewatching it as Deja Vu is one of the greatest masterpiece from Dreamcatcher. Also it's not part of any storyline so there's no prequel or sequel to it.
Usually, the TT of DC from era, trilogy, standalone and newest OOTD is a parallel series (next comeback the cont.), as fellow somnias had mentioned. For the guide, for me, the best is 1. The ultimate 2021/2022 Dreamcatcher guide from Dreamworld (old but gold). 2. Dodging disbandment history of Dreamcatcher from Mera. 3. Additional, DC is kpop group with metal/rock/edm fusion with kpop which earn them the title "The face of rock in kpop". Maybe for comparison, why metal/rock you can react to this MVs. Dreamcatcher the hard one: No More, Endless Night and with melodic one: Deja Vu, InSomnias overall fav song from DC 🤟

Handong was absent for 2 comebacks because she went to China for a survival show and then got stuck there due to covid restrictions. They had a masked dancer for her parts in Scream but let it be for Boca. She learnt the choreo for scream, red sun and black or white (both of which they promoted with scream) as well as boca. She also has vocal parts in all the songs that were released during her absence, including a japanese ost for an anime and rose blue which was a collab with a video game. She was later made the main character of their special clip for poison love when she came back. She also has 3 solo songs (the most out of all of them rn), Siyeon (main vocalist) will be releasing her own 3rd solo song this month and all of them have one solo song each that they have production, composition and writing credits on. Dami has also released 3 unofficial solo compositions and Sua, their main dancer does a lot of their choreography. This is aside from Siyeon, Dami and Sua's osts.

Bonvoyage was actually such a refreshing song because it was a recent title that they released that gave that old Dreamcatcher feel, it was like a mix of old dreamcatcher and new Dreamcatcher so it was fun hearing that old dreamcatcher again. If you decide to react to their older songs then you’ll know what I mean😂

The reason you're confused of their lore and story is because you watched 2 of each, all switched, from different stories. Bon Voyage is a love song for Mother Earth. You watched the ending of their Apocalypse trilogy about the environmental crisis, then watched Vision, which is part 2.
The same with the Dystopia trilogy about bullying/hate with part 2, Boca and then part 1, Scream.

Whatever guide, I recommend "The Ultimate Guide to Dreamcatcher 2021/2022" for a brief background story, snippets of their songs and basic information about the members like their positions.
In one of the articles they referred to VillainS as part of the Versus duology. While the Album cover spells out Versus, the capitalized V and S represents the Versus in the short form of the album title VillainS.
So perhaps the next one will follow the V-S pattern and be something like VictorS or whatever, but sometimes you can't predict what DC will do.

If this is one you want to get to know better, you have a long way to go. No worries, I think you will like it. I saw the Guide reaction you put up recently. Aside from their official YT channel, which contains all their content, there is another channel called insomniscy that has followed this group very closely over the years. They have multiple solo guides for each member, even one per year. Their titles contain their core sound, but hidden in their discography is a lot of experimentation. Should you decide to listen to entire albums NEVER skip the intro. Trust me, their intros almost never disappoint. Good luck.

Sua is Dreamcatcher's dancer and f you want a proof haha watch Tadow or Copycat dance cover from Sua and you will never be the same haha she is unreal. The masked dancer in Scream is symbolizing Handong, the 7th member who couldnt joined them for Scream and Boca. The girls on purpose left the place in a choreo for her, basically saying " there is always a place for Handong in Dreamcatcher". She returns in Odd Eye, the third and last partof the Dystopia Trilogy - which is about bullying. Sua singing "too many angels dying now" hits different when you realize how many kpop idols took their own lives or died tragically in young age due to the massive hate they have recived. One thing about Dreamcatcher - they always deliver important message with each title track.

Please remember to pair the MV's with the dance videos in the future. There will be dance practice videos and also official dance videos. You can choose. But either way, it's so satisfying to watch their choreography that gets lost in the MV's. Be careful with the guide videos as they often contain spoiler for content you haven't seen yet. As you learn about this group, you will find yourself drawn back to them as much for the personalities as the music. Come for the music. Stay for the girls.
it's not everyone's favourite way to watch reactions, and it's hard to catch everything in one viewing. I might start doing that, and I do appreciate people giving feedback, but a lot of people enjoy the reactions as they are too. definitely curious about the girls personalties and I am very excited to get into them more!

I think most will be pleased with MV + Dance practice. Their choreographies are fun; levels, ripples, synchronization, reveals, and nice transitions. They have a great balance of graceful to powerful.
Reason is a fan thank you song to InSomnias (their fans). It’s kind of a memory lane MV, showing the, through the highs and lows, and performances on tour.
A lot of people like BEcause, which was their version of a summer song, as a bit of a tribute to a Jordan Peel movie involving doppelgängers replacing their counterparts using an abandoned theme park as the conduit. Great, creepy doll vibes and vivid colors.

There are dance practice videos, I would recommend the fixed camera ones because that way you get to see what they are up to. They are also quite complicated, as you have already seen Vision I would suggest that as a good comparison. Their B sides are also very good, different but good.
Welcome to the Dreamworld. Dreamcatcher is a kpop group with a rock dominated genre in all of their title tracks and a diverse genre on all their b tracks. Kinda underrated in Korea on their early years. Cause rock is not that embraced in South Korea. But now they are currently gaining spotlight and last December 12 I think, they have won. The best choice award during the Asia Arts Awards held in the Philippines.
