Scream is part 1 of the Dystopia trilogy, which is about cyber-bullying, hateful comments and people losing themselves in the (fake) online world. It is mostly showing the victim's perspective of (cyber)bullying, comparing it to a medieval witch hunt and a burning at the stake. The tree is the tree of language, and it grows black fruit for every hurtful thing people say. Note also the hand gesture, it is the devil's horns introduced by Ronnie James Dio as a symbol for metal, but it originally was a gesture in the middle ages to ward off the evil eye, tying into the witch hunt theme. I really enjoy the music, it's rock mixed with EDM. Dreamcatcher are always very creative, and they are in their own genre by this point. Boca means "mouth" in Spanish and Portuguese and is part 2 of the Dystopia trilogy. Boca has the lines "Why do you fill your precious time with hate" and "Too many angels dying now", which points to the effects those comments can have. Several Kpop idols have committed suicide in recent years, most likely because of cyber-bullying, but this is also about all the unnamed people who suffer from online bullies. A girlgroup tackling such a subject impresses the hell out of me. They literally go to war in this video and tell haters to go and shut their "Boca" in the lyrics. And the song is absolutely awesome! Who said you can't have three different musical genres in one song? Handong was missing for Scream and Boca, because she went on a Chinese survival show, and then the pandemic hit and she got stuck. Odd Eye is part 3 of the Dystopia trilogy. People can get lost in the world of the Internet and social media and their online personas can take over their life. Dreamcatcher want us to use our odd eye to see through the lies (on Facebook and others) and don't be fooled by the "lies masked in sweetness". I can only recommend to keep reacting to them, they are always interesting and entertaining! And the song is a banger! "Bon Voyage" is the 3rd and final part of the Apocalypse trilogy, which is about the destruction of the environment by humanity. The members have mentioned that it is about giving nature a break. Any encounter between human beings always has separation attached to it as well, just as death is a part of life. SuA also said that the fluffy floating thing that Dami summons from her painting is a cell, representing nature. It has been named "Celly" and is adorable, right? My dark mind believes that they are saying "Have a good trip" to humanity, since we are well on our way of wiping ourselves out. It's like a breakup between humanity and the earth. Once humanity is gone, nature gets the break it needs and the circle will begin again. For me, the key to understanding the lyrics is that they are singing as human beings, not as a single person. And they are singing to nature, confessing their love and the realization that we are not good for nature and that it probably resents us. It could also be the other way round (them singing as mother nature to humanity). SuA jumping out after the dove seem to represent their desire for peace. The story of the MV seems to be that the rest of humanity has sheltered away under force fields after the apocalypse. This gives nature time to heal. Musically I can already say this is one of their best songs for me. The chorus slaps hard, and the variations between heavy and slow are just beautiful. It has emotion and impact at the same time. Putting JiU's sweet voice together with an acoustic guitar is simply genius.
The promotions for OOTD were INSANE! The short version of the lore is that the girls are villains trying to lure people to them so they can sacrifice them to gain access to a magical crown. Their next comeback will be the conclusion to the story. Welcome to the Dreamworld! I missed your OOTD reaction somehow, so I went and checked it out before watching this. I apologize in advance for the incoming wall of text. Dreamcatcher are an extremely unique group. They always incorporate rock instrumentals in their title track. Sometimes it's more pronounced, like the chorus in Boca and other time's it's less, like in Scream, but it's always there. Their b-sides though are extremely diverse and cover dozens of genres and sub-genres including R&B, EDM, Jazz, Trap, Rock, Metal, Funk, Reggae, and much more. They've been active as Dreamcatcher for just over 7 years and re-signed their contracts back at the end of 2022, a full year early. The members are all very close with each other and the company is really good to them for the most part. They typically have dark concepts and their MVs and Lore revolve around more serious topics than what you typically find in pop music. Currently they have 4 main storylines and I'll give a quick outline of each below. Nightmare Series - This is their debut storyline. The Lore revolves around a group of girls who succumb to their darker selves and through a series of events become trapped in a nightmare world. The MVs follow those events and their struggle to break free of the Nightmare. The lyrics in the Nightmare series tend to focus on the personal fears and struggles that we face in life. Loneliness, fear of inadequacy, societal expectations, depression, and more make up the themes covered in these songs. Dystopia Trilogy - This is made up of Scream, Boca, & Odd Eye and deal with external issues. Specifically, these three songs touch on cyber bullying, hate speech, and the false "utopia" that social media presents. The Scream MV is from the perspective of the person being persecuted. The imagery in the MV is meant to call to mind the witch hunts that led to innocent women being burned at the stake, liking it to the online witch hunts that happen today on social media. Boca, set in a more modern time, shows the members being chased or watched by masked individuals, representing the anonymous nature of the internet. Odd Eye shows how the digital nature of social media is bleeding into reality and affecting our lives. Once you start to look closer though it becomes apparent that the Utopia presented online is just a sweet lie covering up darker truths. Apocalypse Trilogy - This is about more existential threats to humanity. The two main themes covered in this trilogy are climate change and war. Bonvoyage is the final chapter in this trilogy and is a farewell/love letter to the Earth as humanity has to leave in order to let it fully heal. Versus Duology - This is their most recent storyline which started with OOTD. We don't have all the information for this one yet since part two hasn't dropped yet. OOTD appears to be a commentary on the state of the industry and the manufactured nature of the idols lives. They also have several one-off special releases that are not tied to an overarching storyline. This includes two games that were done as collaborations with mobile games and an anime opening. The promotion for OOTD included an ARG (Alternate Reality Game) where several twitter accounts were outlining their search for the Crown mentioned in OOTD. The account was also seen posting cryptic messages on Dreamcatcher YT videos. The POV character in OOTD that Jiu places the crown on at the end was their 100th victim, which was the number of people they needed to complete their ritual. We don't know what the outcome of that is yet. My memory is a little fuzzy on this but the last thing that happened with the ARG was the briefcase you mentioned, which had coordinates to a coffee shop, and hints to order a specific drink. The first few people who went and ordered the drink were given a thumb drive that contained information about a police investigation into disappearances linked to Dreamcatcher as well as audio recordings of the members talking about sacrificing people to get the crown. It was also hinted that the police were covering it up. Outside of the ARG the special edition album for OOTD included hidden text from their victims with some additional cryptic messages. Siyeon said we wouldn't fully understand the concept until the second part drops and we have a chance to unpack all the content around it. If you want some recommendations on what else to listen to, then I'd recommend going to the beginning and starting there. Their core production team has been with them since day one so the quality of music, even at debut, is still fantastic. Their earlier stuff leans more into the J-Rock style, so you'll definitely get some more Anime vibes from their earlier music. Their current discography as of 5/5/2024 contains 112 unique songs. This includes all solos and OSTs done by the members as well as the 20 intros/outros for the albums. I didn't include Japanese versions of Korean songs or title track instrumentals. That emotional core in Bonvoyage is something they are really good at. They've got a few other high-octane songs that have an emotional component, and they also have some absolutely beautiful ballads that can really turn on the water works. If you want to check out a guide, I'd recommend starting with "An Extensive Guide to Dreamcatcher 2023" by dreamer. It's the best one that's the most up to date. You said something like “it's another sound” in your reaction to bonvoyage, but actually, bonvoyage is closer to the sound they had when they debuted. over the years they have evolved their sound, so they always try to fuse different genres with this rock/metal influence that characterizes them so much. Scream is like rock + edm Boca is moombahton (edm house with elements of reggaeton) + rock Odd Eye is like cyberpunk + metal riff almost close with nu-metal Bonvoyage - jrock If you dare to listen to their first songs and in order -important-, you will notice how they have grown over time, as a curious fact, Dreamcatcher already made an opening for an anime called Kings Raid “Eclipse”, the anime was an rpg game and in 2019 they did a collaboration with this game, thus releasing “Deja Vu”
You have here Scream, BOCA and Odd Eye - Part 1, 2 and 3 of the Dystopia Trilogy. The trilogy focused on themes like online bullying, hurtful comments etc. The theme tying them together is Scream (hearing, like hearing bad words), BOCA (Spanish for mouth, saying bad things) and Odd Eye (seeing/sight). Even though they have quite different visual styles there is a central theme to the series, and as opposed to the preceding Nightmare series it incorporated a lot more EDM elements alongside the rock elements to the music. BonVoyage is like a love song between 2 lovers, but actually a letter for the Earth. Dreamcatcher always have song that seems have different meanings of different interpretation. Even the visual, they always do different point of view. Bird in BonVoyage I believe is a dove that represents hope. That means we're chasing the hope of the Earth being fine again. Myco means mystery code, dreamcatcher almost always do the riddle to reveal the next comeback either date or title. The last one at the end of your video is the myco for Maison (French: home/house, represents the Earth, first part of apocalypse trilogy which BonVoyage is the third). Using air quality index (AQI). The Morse code used to decrypt the title of the song MAISON, when environmental chemistry used to read the AQI, the nitrogen dioxide (NO2) is the main cause of the air being unsafe. NO2 is a brown gas, and the main colour scheme used in MAISON is brown, from the background to the outfits.

(though id suggest either doing one video per year, or one video per member which includes all years) but if you want to learn their faces and personalites i think theyre the best way!
Maison(1) and vision(2) songs are the first two parts for bon voyage and its apocalypse trilogy. In short, bon voyage mv DC is restoring earth; hence, plants, animals, barrier, floating creature [seed of life]. Earth needs to thrive within its own ecosystem similar to national parks, so DC as goddesses, have to leave earth, therefore, wishing earth to tell them good luck on their travel [bon voyage] to wherever they are heading to next.

Dreamcatcher is that. You seem a little confused as what how you should feel but just accept it. Go way back and hit their debut Chase Me and follow the story line from there. You won't get it, I still don't but their different in the genre. Hit some B sides too they really mix it up. Red Sun and Deja Vu have MV's, you'll lose your mind. Please and you'll thank me.

Disclaimer: You will see the first 2 albums are from before they became Dreamcatcher, because 5 of the 7 members were in a group called Minx. But because the group didn't succeed they disbanded and redebuted the 5 members with new producers and concept, and added 2 more members, Gahyeon and Handong (who is from China and the only international member)

you should try watching their dance performance of each video moving forward, Dreamcatcher has one of the strong dance choreo in K- pop, I had 3 criteria in making me get to be hook to a group and their songs, one is the beat and music, that is my primary, second is visuals and lastly is their dance choreo, Dreamcatcher have all 3 of them in most of their videos, they are a combination of rock and high fantasy both of which i fancy so much when i was younger, even to this day, dreamcatcher is the only k POP female group for me having that perfect blend, that is why there are number 3 on my list of top k pop female group ( GIRL STAN ONLY groupie btw )

Scream is part 1 of the Dystopia trilogy, which is about cyber-bullying, hateful comments and people losing themselves in the (fake) online world. It is mostly showing the victim's perspective of (cyber)bullying, comparing it to a medieval witch hunt and a burning at the stake. The tree is the tree of language, and it grows black fruit for every hurtful thing people say. Note also the hand gesture, it is the devil's horns introduced by Ronnie James Dio as a symbol for metal, but it originally was a gesture in the middle ages to ward off the evil eye, tying into the witch hunt theme. I really enjoy the music, it's rock mixed with EDM. Dreamcatcher are always very creative, and they are in their own genre by this point.
Boca means "mouth" in Spanish and Portuguese and is part 2 of the Dystopia trilogy. Boca has the lines "Why do you fill your precious time with hate" and "Too many angels dying now", which points to the effects those comments can have. Several Kpop idols have committed suicide in recent years, most likely because of cyber-bullying, but this is also about all the unnamed people who suffer from online bullies. A girlgroup tackling such a subject impresses the hell out of me. They literally go to war in this video and tell haters to go and shut their "Boca" in the lyrics. And the song is absolutely awesome! Who said you can't have three different musical genres in one song?
Handong was missing for Scream and Boca, because she went on a Chinese survival show, and then the pandemic hit and she got stuck.
Odd Eye is part 3 of the Dystopia trilogy. People can get lost in the world of the Internet and social media and their online personas can take over their life. Dreamcatcher want us to use our odd eye to see through the lies (on Facebook and others) and don't be fooled by the "lies masked in sweetness". I can only recommend to keep reacting to them, they are always interesting and entertaining! And the song is a banger!
"Bon Voyage" is the 3rd and final part of the Apocalypse trilogy, which is about the destruction of the environment by humanity. The members have mentioned that it is about giving nature a break. Any encounter between human beings always has separation attached to it as well, just as death is a part of life. SuA also said that the fluffy floating thing that Dami summons from her painting is a cell, representing nature. It has been named "Celly" and is adorable, right?
My dark mind believes that they are saying "Have a good trip" to humanity, since we are well on our way of wiping ourselves out. It's like a breakup between humanity and the earth. Once humanity is gone, nature gets the break it needs and the circle will begin again. For me, the key to understanding the lyrics is that they are singing as human beings, not as a single person. And they are singing to nature, confessing their love and the realization that we are not good for nature and that it probably resents us. It could also be the other way round (them singing as mother nature to humanity).
SuA jumping out after the dove seem to represent their desire for peace.
The story of the MV seems to be that the rest of humanity has sheltered away under force fields after the apocalypse. This gives nature time to heal.
Musically I can already say this is one of their best songs for me. The chorus slaps hard, and the variations between heavy and slow are just beautiful. It has emotion and impact at the same time. Putting JiU's sweet voice together with an acoustic guitar is simply genius.
The promotions for OOTD were INSANE! The short version of the lore is that the girls are villains trying to lure people to them so they can sacrifice them to gain access to a magical crown. Their next comeback will be the conclusion to the story. Welcome to the Dreamworld! I missed your OOTD reaction somehow, so I went and checked it out before watching this. I apologize in advance for the incoming wall of text.
Dreamcatcher are an extremely unique group. They always incorporate rock instrumentals in their title track. Sometimes it's more pronounced, like the chorus in Boca and other time's it's less, like in Scream, but it's always there. Their b-sides though are extremely diverse and cover dozens of genres and sub-genres including R&B, EDM, Jazz, Trap, Rock, Metal, Funk, Reggae, and much more.
They've been active as Dreamcatcher for just over 7 years and re-signed their contracts back at the end of 2022, a full year early. The members are all very close with each other and the company is really good to them for the most part.
They typically have dark concepts and their MVs and Lore revolve around more serious topics than what you typically find in pop music. Currently they have 4 main storylines and I'll give a quick outline of each below.
Nightmare Series - This is their debut storyline. The Lore revolves around a group of girls who succumb to their darker selves and through a series of events become trapped in a nightmare world. The MVs follow those events and their struggle to break free of the Nightmare. The lyrics in the Nightmare series tend to focus on the personal fears and struggles that we face in life. Loneliness, fear of inadequacy, societal expectations, depression, and more make up the themes covered in these songs.
Dystopia Trilogy - This is made up of Scream, Boca, & Odd Eye and deal with external issues. Specifically, these three songs touch on cyber bullying, hate speech, and the false "utopia" that social media presents. The Scream MV is from the perspective of the person being persecuted. The imagery in the MV is meant to call to mind the witch hunts that led to innocent women being burned at the stake, liking it to the online witch hunts that happen today on social media. Boca, set in a more modern time, shows the members being chased or watched by masked individuals, representing the anonymous nature of the internet. Odd Eye shows how the digital nature of social media is bleeding into reality and affecting our lives. Once you start to look closer though it becomes apparent that the Utopia presented online is just a sweet lie covering up darker truths.
Apocalypse Trilogy - This is about more existential threats to humanity. The two main themes covered in this trilogy are climate change and war. Bonvoyage is the final chapter in this trilogy and is a farewell/love letter to the Earth as humanity has to leave in order to let it fully heal.
Versus Duology - This is their most recent storyline which started with OOTD. We don't have all the information for this one yet since part two hasn't dropped yet. OOTD appears to be a commentary on the state of the industry and the manufactured nature of the idols lives.
They also have several one-off special releases that are not tied to an overarching storyline. This includes two games that were done as collaborations with mobile games and an anime opening.
The promotion for OOTD included an ARG (Alternate Reality Game) where several twitter accounts were outlining their search for the Crown mentioned in OOTD. The account was also seen posting cryptic messages on Dreamcatcher YT videos. The POV character in OOTD that Jiu places the crown on at the end was their 100th victim, which was the number of people they needed to complete their ritual. We don't know what the outcome of that is yet. My memory is a little fuzzy on this but the last thing that happened with the ARG was the briefcase you mentioned, which had coordinates to a coffee shop, and hints to order a specific drink. The first few people who went and ordered the drink were given a thumb drive that contained information about a police investigation into disappearances linked to Dreamcatcher as well as audio recordings of the members talking about sacrificing people to get the crown. It was also hinted that the police were covering it up. Outside of the ARG the special edition album for OOTD included hidden text from their victims with some additional cryptic messages. Siyeon said we wouldn't fully understand the concept until the second part drops and we have a chance to unpack all the content around it.
If you want some recommendations on what else to listen to, then I'd recommend going to the beginning and starting there. Their core production team has been with them since day one so the quality of music, even at debut, is still fantastic. Their earlier stuff leans more into the J-Rock style, so you'll definitely get some more Anime vibes from their earlier music.
Their current discography as of 5/5/2024 contains 112 unique songs. This includes all solos and OSTs done by the members as well as the 20 intros/outros for the albums. I didn't include Japanese versions of Korean songs or title track instrumentals.
That emotional core in Bonvoyage is something they are really good at. They've got a few other high-octane songs that have an emotional component, and they also have some absolutely beautiful ballads that can really turn on the water works.
If you want to check out a guide, I'd recommend starting with "An Extensive Guide to Dreamcatcher 2023" by dreamer. It's the best one that's the most up to date.

You said something like “it's another sound” in your reaction to bonvoyage, but actually, bonvoyage is closer to the sound they had when they debuted. over the years they have evolved their sound, so they always try to fuse different genres with this rock/metal influence that characterizes them so much.

Boca is moombahton (edm house with elements of reggaeton) + rock
Odd Eye is like cyberpunk + metal riff almost close with nu-metal

Girl in mask is supposed to represent Han Dong, the Chinese member who was absent due to be stuck in China during COVID quarantine.
You have here Scream, BOCA and Odd Eye - Part 1, 2 and 3 of the Dystopia Trilogy. The trilogy focused on themes like online bullying, hurtful comments etc. The theme tying them together is Scream (hearing, like hearing bad words), BOCA (Spanish for mouth, saying bad things) and Odd Eye (seeing/sight). Even though they have quite different visual styles there is a central theme to the series, and as opposed to the preceding Nightmare series it incorporated a lot more EDM elements alongside the rock elements to the music.
BONVOYAGE is the third part of the Apocalypse series, and follows part 1: Maison and part 2: VISION.

BonVoyage is like a love song between 2 lovers, but actually a letter for the Earth. Dreamcatcher always have song that seems have different meanings of different interpretation.
Even the visual, they always do different point of view. Bird in BonVoyage I believe is a dove that represents hope. That means we're chasing the hope of the Earth being fine again.
Myco means mystery code, dreamcatcher almost always do the riddle to reveal the next comeback either date or title. The last one at the end of your video is the myco for Maison (French: home/house, represents the Earth, first part of apocalypse trilogy which BonVoyage is the third). Using air quality index (AQI). The Morse code used to decrypt the title of the song MAISON, when environmental chemistry used to read the AQI, the nitrogen dioxide (NO2) is the main cause of the air being unsafe. NO2 is a brown gas, and the main colour scheme used in MAISON is brown, from the background to the outfits.

-Siyeon did the super high note in Odd eye and she does actually have tattoos, the most in the group at 3 (1 wraps around the back/rib/underarm, a shoulder tat and a neck tat) and she'd currently looking into more I think. Dami (outer elbow and shoulder blade) and Yoohyeon (rib and inner elbow) both have two tattoos. All the girls love trying out temporary tattoos though I think only Siyeon and Dami don't use temporary tattoos.
-Siyeon and Dami are constantly fighting the backtrack in live performances.
-Siyeon is the only main vocal officially but Yoohyeon functions as a secondary main on b-sides. Their b-sides are even better than the titles. Officially Yoohyeon and Jiu are lead vocals and the rest are all sub vocals but at this point you could call all of them lead vocals given how good they are live.
- Dami has the most composition and writing credit in the group, Handong has the most solos and Siyeon has more OSTs than their mini albums have songs. While Handong and Siyeon got their solos before the rest, all the girls got their solos on the second full length album and they did not buy the songs, they wrote, composed and arranged the songs themselves (some with more help from their producers than others).

Disclaimer: You will see the first 2 albums are from before they became Dreamcatcher, because 5 of the 7 members were in a group called Minx. you should try watching their dance performance of each video moving forward, Dreamcatcher has one of the strong dance choreo in K- pop, I had 3 criteria in making me get to be hook to a group and their songs, one is the beat and music, that is my primary, second is visuals and lastly is their dance choreo, Dreamcatcher have all 3 of them in most of their videos, they are a combination of rock and high fantasy both of which i fancy so much when i was younger, even to this day, dreamcatcher is the only k POP female group for me having that perfect blend, that is why there are number 3 on my list of top k pop female group ( GIRL STAN ONLY groupie btw )
