ABCD was an incredible track but some people wanted to be critical for the sake of being so. There are so many artists out there that never experiment outside their base sound and everyone complains it sounds the same for a decade yet they eat it up cuz it’s all they get. Meanwhile nayeon and twice experiment with their sound constantly while still having a core happiness and strength to their tracks yet people are demeaning cuz they hate seeing them succeed.

There was another part of the behind-the-scenes stuff where Momo was sea-sick. They already knew she would be sick so they drugged her up for most of the shoot on the boat; that's why there are an entire TWO glamor shots of her on the boat while everybody else got much more camera time.

hey jemma <3 so about the lore: thematically the new album series 'golden hour' is set in world a instead of world z (which is why there is a change of vibe/tone both visually and musically). the parts in the video where you can see the golden eggs are in fact tied to their lore (and to mito, the black bunny idk if you have seen them somewhere :D), but it would take a little longer to explain that whole connection lmao but you're right the 'lore' is way more subtle in this mv (and they have a couple videos where the lore isn't as important 'the real' and 'turbulence' for example). we don't know yet how much they will incorperate their story in future mvs! hongjoong recently said in a live though that they will publish some form of lore book this year 👀 seonghwa hatching from the egg: it's a fun little play on the story of Bak (Park) Hyeokgeose, who was the founding monarch of Silla, one of the 3 kingdoms of Korea. He was the progenitor of all Park clans in Korea and the legend says he hatched from an egg and because seonghwa is the only 'park' in ateez they put him in that egg!

he tiger at the end refers to Hoshi, who was the inspiration for this song. They mentioned that there was a fight and Hoshi at the end as an apology said "I'm sorry this is the first time I live too" which comes from the song that we should celebrate our youth even with the fears and mistakes

First this is just some info I got from social media and me overthinking stuff at 3 am BUT ANYWAYS, some possible meanings for the MV. Woozi: First Social isolation and lives in a world that’s doing by technology but then he tries to solve his “youth issue” with trying to connect (giving flowers to the kind woman who gave his robot food) Seungkwan: He has social anxiety/ fear of new people and because he is getting overwhelmed when people call him but he actually wants to connect with people. The fish also (could) mean that: there is more than technology offers us… outside of the fish tank Jeonghan: He has a different view on things than society but gets pushed to walk on a path that isn’t his but in the end he does. (Great explanation ik) Dk: Academic (and career) pressure/ job searching struggles. The rock can mean various things: 1. A lot of the Korean population have pet rocks bc they feel lonely 2. When becoming a rock he chooses to let go of his struggles and his past dreams. When he throws the rock, he lets his dreams swim freely, tries to find himself without getting restrained by others expectations. Joshua: The meerkat metaphor: meerkats usually live in company with other meerkats for a healthy life. Shua is alone at his workplace, so he could be lonely and unhappy without any work friends. Then he gets a gift, someone maybe actually wants to be his friend and apparently the note says: “we love seeing you as an meerkat” that’s why he makes that club for him and possible future friends. Summary: Todays youth struggles and that sometimes we just need friends or supportive society to get an clear view on life 🧍

the context of smoothie is that theyre basically blending up all the bad experiences theyve had and drinking it anyways, as a reference to not letting the bad things get you down! instead of breaking under the pain and pressure, they drink it up to overcome it. i love this song/album, and ive loved seeing your reactions to nct so far!! keep it up 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽
