You are true artists, and so smart to remove the grass and create a design with drought tolerant plants and very useful, beautiful paths. Very inspiring! Your family will enjoy the results of all your labor every single day. Worth it!

It was so satisfying to watch this transformation. And heartwarming to see 3 generations working together! I love the way you always show "chipping away" at projects. We've been painting our home room by room this year and it's sometimes been hard to pace ourselves because I just want it all finished. Well, now we have only one room left and I'm actually a little sad that the project will be complete!

Looking great. Just an FYI, weed block is laid down 1st THEN you dig your plant holes. To cut the holes, just fire up a propane torch then burn/melt the holes then dig. Reason for laying the fabric 1st is to minimize the ability of weeds to escape through the block. As for your paver spacing fill, there is a product called polymeric sand, I think thats it, but its a sand that you fill in the spaces, water it up after you lay it, then it does the same thing as you gravel glue. Just like the glue, it locks together to hold the sand tight, then it blocks out any future weed growth.
    All in all, great job.🎉🎉🎉

just a quick note, the trees you planted, it may be a camera angle, and if so, feel free to disregard. the trees and plants, at least as i see them in the video, look as though the root balls are planted at or below grade, with colored mulch and rock borders. i would recommend replanting with the root balls slightly above the grade up to an inch, then cover with a healthy later of a fine compost or fine grade natural mulch, 2-3 inches. this will keep the crowns and roots cool, allowing them to stay moist but not wet, reduce chances of drying out between watering, and maintain a healthy growing environment. anything planted at grade level then covered with a shredded mulch, and then ringed with rocks is an almost certain guarantee to cause crown rot because the water stays on top and drains slower, often soaking the crtown and top of the roots. that's due to the size and age of the varieties you've selected. when shredded mulch that's been colored, as most of the scotts, earthgro, and preen mulches are, (home depot and lowes) the dyes seep into the roots. the crowns of plants and trees, especially smaller trees are tender and haven't developed. this planting method exposes all the crowns to crown rot, which them moves down the roots and kills them and by the time it presents on the trees and plants, it's too late, the only fix is remove and replace. also, a future possible project, is drip irrigation with individual emitters to each plant or tree. this delivers water straight to the roots, eliminating soaking any crowns and will dramatically reduce water usage. the channel recommendation i shared earlier covers this in great detail multiple times. continued success to you and your family. looking forward to future updates, and watching past vids.

These could be above ground or buried containers. Everything except your tolietz is gray water. And consider how much less would be processed at your Sewer plant

Lovey changes. I know about the work it takes.
I grew up in Southern California and have wonderful memories of picking Tangerines from my Grandfather's tree.
I live in Northern California now, and before I could even have Landscapers come to my yard, I had to clean the jungle in the Front and Back yards. It took 9 months, and I had to order 2 extra 96 gallon Green Bins for a total of 3 and my Neighbor also let me use his Green Bin. I calculated I probably filled up 120 Green Bins. And Thank goodness for the App Next Door as I was able to get rid of bricks, pavers and other things found in the jungle wedidn'tt need. We needed professional Landscapers due to I couldn't due the work, LOL and the uneven/unlevel yard and need for professional assessment and remedies for drainage and needing safe decks . And now we have a user friendly Backyard and it's safe for the Grandbabies and me, LOL
